Red Soil is a pretty sweet song! But I gotta say that the ending bit is...interesting. I dunno why, but I sorta thought of an angry Sesame Street dude when I heard the screaming stuff at the end. :p

I really don't like Toshiya's new look...If he's going to shave half his head, he should spike the remainding hair...like some sort of crazy mohawk thing, I guess.

I was actuallyat the 10/18 concert in Tokyo, and Toshiya seems to be the most popular band member over there. People were screaming his name the most, and the hairstyle, while still a bit of a surprise to me at first, really matched his cool and collected, yet skillful and fierce performing style on stage.

Could somebody re-repost the link to Red Soil? Maybe it's just because of my location, but I am having trouble opening the site. Thanks so much-

And between Dozing Green, Red Soil, Glass Skin, and the previews they played at the concert, Uroboros will certainly be an incredible album, touching upon all style aspects of Dir en Grey past and present, from Gauze to Marrow.

You heard previews of the other songs on Uroboros?! How awesome! I'm so glad Kyo is singing again. You said they mixed all of their sounds so far? Now I'm even more excited! This might end up being their best album yet! I have a good feeling about this one!

I'm still not a huge fan of Toshiya's hair, but I'm warming up to it. :cool: He definitely stands out!

Yeah, at the concert they played three other songs from their new album. One of them was very neat, featuring a lot of Kyo's vocalizing, very melodic. Then they had another which was like a more intense version of Agitated Screams, but with a much more musical chorus, and the third they played just as the concert was about to be over, which was Kyo soloing (with a piano I think) something very sweet and sad... They were all awesome.

It was a great concert too, even though I had to pay 12000 yen (about $115) to get a ticket. Definitely worth it. And it's funny seeing Japanese dir en grey fans- they are so unified, like everyone supported the band as a unit, whether it was headbanging, chanting, screaming "En-Ko-Re!" or even standing in silence, which happened several times. The Japanese, it seems, appreciate the more sad and sorrowful songs (such as glass skin) with silent reflection instead of violent cheers. It really sets the mood.

I got it from another forum, and the story there is that supposedly one of the american release copies was accidentaly shipped early. I love Uroboros! There's a lot of middle eastern sounds in it. I haven't decided which songs are my most favorite yet. There's one that I'm not very fond of but I can't think of the name right now.

has anyone heard the special edition content yet? Man, Dozing Green (Before Construction Ver.) is so kickass, it's practically a different song! and Ware, Yami Tote (Unplugged) is beautiful!!! holy balls! yesterday i went to see dir en grey
i went w/ my mom + it was supposed to start @ 7, but i told her i wanted to leave @ 7
it was at clutch cargo
all the staff were so funny
there was this emo band playing before them, they were ok, but there was one guitarist on the right that stole the show especially the way the light hit him
my mom was chattin it up w/him after they performed
i was standing in the center and could see them perfectly, but my camera takes pics like they're far away
then my mom comes out of nowhere from her chair in the back and is like "Do u want to go to the front?", i thought she meant fight my way over to the front, so i was like no. Then she shakes her head and says Ms. Kathy from my high school is here and wants to take me to front, so im like hells yeah, homie!
Ms. Kathy works at the attendance office at my high school so i was like what's she doing at a nightclub?
it turns out she knows everyone working there and goes to every concert
so she leads me around the crowd and past the gate blocking off all the screaming fans to stand with the bouncers literally 5 ft away from them!!!!
i literally locked eyes with toshiya, kyo, and kaoru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
die was too far away, of course shinya might've not seen me
i was the only one past the gate!!!! they kept moving closer to me!!!
then i was hangin out w/ the bouncers + people kept coming up to me asking me to hook them up,but i was like "i dont even know how i got up here!"
up close Kyo's tattoos look really good, that was one thing i wanted to see
some kids were so jealous
everyone there were serious die-hards and knew every song and wouldve killed to be in my place, but to be honest, i didnt know too many songs
i seriously never thought i'd get that close to where we're looking dead at each other
i was so lucky, especially since this is like my second concert
i'll tell you more later, but how do i post pics?

Dir en grey were on the cover of Kerrang! magazine this issue in UK! headline and pic on the cover and a long article inside!!! :silly: I was so stoked I had to buy the mag (used to get it quite regularly but haven't now for quite a few years, dunno why maybe I just got skinter XD) Anyway the article was pretty good! :cool: Anyone else here from the UK Dir en grey fans should definitely get it!

I think I must be more of a super-sensitive person than I've realized... but... I had bad dreams last night after watching just one song (concert video) of Dir en Grey.

It's the music (not so much the singing, or even the lyrics) that gets to me... before Kyo even comes out and begins... the music itself really effects me in a bad way. Though thousands of fans were there enjoying the show, I sat still and quiet, in awe of how it was affecting me inside..

It's not a post to put the band down, but an observation of myself; my own experience that I wanted to share; I hope the fans don't mind..

@Blue_eyes: You can try The Marrow Of A Bone or Uroboros. They are quite heavy.

Im very happy with the latest album Uroboros, i think it is their best album in a long time after Kisou. My favourite is still Kisou. :P

Also, im very glad that they made the cover of a UK magazine! and had a chance to tour with Kerrang! :O This is amazing :silly: It would be better if the cover were a group shot, but it is better than nothing, right? They can gain more fans :cool:

but anyway...to be honest Diru is my first j-rock love...it's my first Japanese band ever and actually I loved them I think 2 years before I started to like J-rock...until then I just took them as Diru, as any other (rock) band...and I remember there was a VK/J-Rock day on a certain German music channel and I was watching these videos but all I remembered was Diru and MUCC...some time later I came across some Diru's CDs and checked out Withering to Death...of course, I loved it and so I collected most of their things and I loved them :D but I remember the times when I knew nothing about VK and I thought Shinya was a girl :D but later I've found out more about them and loved them even more...so that's my story :D...nothing special...

LMAO of course not. I know they do have sex, love affairs and maybe sometimes in the future they get married, or they are married.
I really think being an artist in Japan is a difficult thing, because they aren´t treated like western celebrities. Companies have certain rules and they have to obey them (or when they don´t , they have to be sure to do as if they obeyed).
You know, the actress, Erika Sawajiri? She got married last year and there was a huge uprorar about it. I think she was prohibited to act (don´t know if it still is so).
I know there is now a ransom going about Miyavi, but LOL I hope the boys from Diru are more clever and watch their love affairs (especially Die with his pubescent tastes)...and don´t make babies...XD
