They might be having to change venues, guys, avalon is not being responcesive, and I personally just ranted to the manigment about what a sucky job they are doing towards this band. Just give them time, I bet you anything they are having to switch venues.

Diru fans across the U.S are foaming at the mouth. The fans for the LA concert are going crazy, about whether its cancelled or not. The ones who wanted to go to the NY concert are foaming at the mouth, because the tickets sold out during presale. And not just that they sold out during presale, but that they were told by both ticketmaster and the AVALON that tickets will go on sale today, just to be told that it is completly sold out. So you have fans who missed out that Monday, who kept hope alive only to be completely crushed.

I personally while I have my ticket, am worried that with all the drama going on, the NY concert might be cancelled.

While Free Will website has suspiciously (sp?) ran out of bandwith. Not only that but for close to a week, they have been silent, never confirming anything about the LA show or whether the NY tickets were really sold out.

Free Will should have for they NY show squashed the rumors and told whats going on as soon as the first rumors started about the show sold out.

Dude, everyone needs to just take a deep breath and chill. It isn't free will's fault at all. Don't get all angry at them for something like this happening. If anything you should be thankful and appreciate that they are even bringing Diru here in the first place. The problem is with the venue, free will is doing everything they can to get the presale tickets straightened out. It does suck that the FWA site is down, but as soon as they find out any info they will let us know. I am sure everything will work out just fine. If it comes down to it, they can just find another venue for diru to play at in LA.

As for the NYC show, I think it is great they sold out!!! That is such a good thing. Of course it sucks for the people who couldn't get tickets, but I suppose if you were a huge diru fan you would have woke up in the morning and gotten tickets as soon as they went on sale. When a band sells out it usually means they will come back to do another show. These few shows are a test for diru to see how well they do here, see how many tickets they sell, see how they do on merch, and everything. If it works out well, then they will do a tour on a larger scale rather than just a couple shows.

Writing letters and complaining acting all rude to FWA isn't going to help. If anything it will make the situation worse, here they are doing everything they can to bring diru here and you want to treat them like that just because you have to wait another day or two for tickets to go on sale? I really don't understand what all this is about. Be excited that diru is coming here, whether you get to see them or not, it is going to be a great experience for the band, and will help things out for them coming here in the future.

The avalon venue in hollywood denies all knowledge of Dir en Grey playing there. They don't even know who Dir en Grey is, and they seemed pretty pissed off that people keep asking about them.

Actually, I called the Avalon in Hollywood, and evidently they are getting a lot of calls. The woman who answered the phone knew why I was calling before I even finished a sentence.
She said that the concert was probably being booked through "Avalon Attractions", and not "Avalon Hollywood". (Avalon Hollywood is one of the venues that is managed by Avalon Attractions.) She said that since this is such a popular band, that the Avalon Hollywood is not a big enough venue.
Avalon Attractions manages over 50 different venues in the greater LA area. The most likely places would be the Palladium, which holds approx 3500 people and often hosts punk concerts, and the Home Depot center in Carson. They both have a large general admission section.

Haha, I was the same way the night before the New York tickets went on sale. I coudn't sleep, when I did I would wake up like two hours later, to go and check for any news. I woke up at exactly 8:50 and was ready. It was so funny because as soon as it was 8:59 I was refreshing ticketmaster like crazy, and even then it took me 4 times to get the tickets, because I kept messing up :lol: like the first time I put the wrong amount of tickets. Then I clicked on the wrong shipping option (Canada). It took me 15 mins before I got the tickets. And then everytime I messed up I was like OMG OMG what if the tickets sold out and I can't get mine.

Ironically after buying the tickets I didn't go fangirl crazy like I thought I would. I just texted my friend to let him know I got them, and then went off into a coma like sleep. In fact I almost missed my class cause I woke up late. I am not even really excited about the concert. Its kind of like ok, I have my tickets next month I will see Dir en grey. It probaly won't hit me until like the day of or the day after then I will be like OMG!!!111!! DIRU DIRU DIRU DIRU. ToShI OMG OMG OMG!

Double post but @hide and any other LA fan. FWA will probaly do what they did for the NYC tickets. Free Will was originally going to put the presale password up the day the tickets go on sale. But a fan brought up the fact that the site might crash because of so many trying to see the password. So they put up the pre sale password 2 days, before the ticket sale began. So they might tommorow say presale tickets go on sale blah blah date, and the presale password is blah blah.

Tickets go on sale Saturday 3/04/2006 at10am PST but Free-Will America members can purchase tickets in advanceon Thursday 3/02/2006 at 10am PST. Tickets will be $29 throughTicketmaster.

Yeah I hear you about the with age comes privilage thing. One of my fav bands made a tour here recently and i couldnt attend because i wasnt 21. Which bites major *** but when i calmed down enough to think about it it made a lot of sense and i know that Ill have my chance one day. It sucks but some times you just have to bite the bullet and let the older kids play. If i get cut in line by some teeny boper and their parent/gaurdian there will be hell to pay.

Itll suck like no other if some people dont get their ticket and when i get there everyother person in line has a parent with them. I myself was goiing to go with my gay husband because he wanted to do something to me but hes not a deg fan so at the ast min i talked him out of going. It justdidnt seem right for me to bring a friend of mine no matter how close if he wasnt a big fan. That was just shooting someone elses chances in the face. :(

Some people will be there at 7am. At concerts if your short you want to try and be at a concert as early as you can. I learned that the hard way when I went to a Alice Nine concert over in japan it sucked >_<. At the Diru concert I went to over in japan the taller people would let me go in front of them so I could watch the concert. I do have a bad experience at a concert though, I was up in front and some people we're moshing well a fan grabbed the lead singer and he lost grip on the lead singer and the lead singer landed on me. That was at a concert over in japan as well. I've also had Toshiya pour some of his water on me and Kyo spit up blood and some other stuff on me all in the same concert.

I was by the gate when he landed on me. Yeah afterwords security grabbed me and asked me to come with them. I had thought I did something to get in trouble, but he wanted to apologize for what had happened ^_^ it was so cool. And I got my ticket yesterday YES, but even though its general admission, which it does state on the ticket as general admission standing, it has on it GA9 seats 4-5. what does that mean?

They do that for all tickets to keep count. Even if it's just standing theres still "seat numbers" to keep track of ticket numbers. I think mine were GA2 seats 2-3, but yeah that doesn't mean anything haha.

I don't have a problem with their morbid and goth stuff (I don't have a problem with any of their music when it gets down to it). It's just that a lot of songs from their GAUZE/Macabre days are really strange. Take Myaku for example. Great song, but the music and the vocals are just weird. It wasn't until Vulgar, and now WTD, that I've been able to enjoy most, if not all, of a CD straight through, without skipping around to what song I have an urge to listen to.

See, that's one of the things I love about their earlier days is that they have a lot of "normal" straight singing songs as well as friggin vocally insane songs. Like Mask for example, vocally and musically it's all over the place but that's what, to me, makes it so fun to listen to. Now this can make their early music a bit...weird to listen to 'cause it seems to be all or nothing when it comes to Kyo's vocal oddities etc. It's like the song is either INSANE or just "normal" without any middle ground between the two, there's no real balance or anything to through you for loops. That was something Kyo said about Vulgar, he said that he wanted to change it up and make songs that were unpredictable because he found just straight singing or just straight screaming to be boring.

A little info that I got from the Batsu forums... For people going to the LA show. They are planning on having red glowsticks to crack open for The Final. Since lighters, would pose a bit of a fire hazard and also might get you kicked out, so they planned that glowsticks would be a safer choice.. They want to crack them open for the first chorus and have them light up the crowd like lighters would. If you would be interested in doing this, go right ahead. Bring your own glowsticks.. I do believe some of people might have extra as well. Just thought I'd throw this info out there for those interested in joining in. That is all..

This update is regarding the timing for the lighting of the glow sticks. While the general idea was to have these go off during "The Final", on further consideration, it seemed like an even BETTER idea to light them just as the FIRST chorus begins. Reason being is that well, it matches the PV and would be a more intense opener to the song. If you haven't spread the info about the glow sticks, please do so. And if you HAVE spread the info, please spread this as well! An even more coordinated lighting of these things would be much more impressive.

Haha, umbrellas, I think thats a joke to whatever liquids might be coming out of his mouth. As far as the glowsticks, I am mixed on that. Its kind of sweet (Cheesy). And it is much better than a lighters. I know at some concerts, for a ballad its the cellphone in the air, but since no one wants to get it confiscated for taking pictures, glowsticks will be safer. I don't know. I am such a nerd, but I have a countdown on my cell phone (not just for this but for anything of importance) and as of now.

Anyways, what the NY people were talking about doing is using blue glowsticks if Diru plays the long named song on withering to death (sorry my brain is dead). For the LA people if they don't play the final their going to do the glowstick thing on Dead Tree :okashii: I think they should just let Diru perform without any weird or stupid thing happening. Just my opinion though.

Hell their going to have boxes to put stuff for each member of diru in why not just put stuff in the boxes instead of the whole glowstick thing :-)

Kaoru because he is the band leader and without him would we have our wonderful Dir en grey at all... (and he's very hot and at one time had amazing purple/pink hair AND a spiky bra... XD).
Kyo because he has The Voice, is little and charismatic and has an incredibly edible body.
Die because he owns me at pinch harmonics ^^ and has a great natural beauty and the ability to wear overalls and retain a shred of dignity.
Toshiya because his bass playing is at the heart of Dir's music. And he has a funny laugh.
Shinya because his drumming skills are great (and get better and better) and he is ethereally beautiful.

Well its not gonns go on for more than a coupleof hours if thats what youre wondering. And of all the concerts Ive been to RARELY do they ever start at what time theyre supposed to. - _ - So add time for opening act to do a small set, time for the thing to start, time between bands and then your Diru time and you should have a fair estimate.

I am going for this. The doors usually open an hour before the show, the opening band (which sucks, but I will grin and bear it :lol:) should start 7-7:15 A short set maybe 5-10 songs. Then the time it takes to change bands. So I say Diru should be on 8-8:15 ish. If they are playing a full set, from what I see in the DVD's its about 1hr 30 mins plus they usually take a 10-15 min brake in between.

SO I am guessing we should be out by 11:30.

They always play in those positions on stage it's like this looking at the stage:

Kaoru - Toshiya - Kyo - Shinya (in the back obviously) - and Die

So Kaoru and Toshiya are stage right, Kyo and Shinya center stage, and Die is stage left. If they aren't set up like that, it will be a first!

I personally think the glow stick idea is really lame, so I won't be taking part in that. Maybe if it was like a Chemical brothers concert or something haha!

They all look different. Kaoru is looking very Cousin it ish. I'm not sure if I like it or not, because I haven't seen his face. Toshiya is looking good. And Die was barely recognizable. Hey even has a tatoo, And Kyo has a new one also. I guess the makeup is truly gone huh? Or maybe that was just for the show, since it is industry people, and they probaly only know the VK aspect of them. If its gone I will miss it, I mean lord Die in eyeliner is just the Sex. But if its gone then oh well, as long as Kyo doesn't turn fat and flabby, Or Kaorus hair totally engulfs him until he really is Cousin It I will love them.
