Yeah, but it could be worse.... they could be playing something from the VK days... like Unknown... Despair... A Lost, or Cage.... granted it wouldn't be worse in the sense that the band lacked anything, it would just be worse in that the viewing audience who don't know who they are would be getting the wrong impression, ne? Another thing that music video channels may be trying to show is that the band has grown up alot.... if they only showed more recent videos, then there would be nothing for new audiences to compare, you know? But, I will agree with the fact that they could have chosen a better video than Child Prey... for the most part, it confuses people who don't know what to expect from Diru when they watch a bunch of little Diru flying around in ships, with big Diru performing in one big ship, in which all the little ships are trying to get away from evil mice... <.<; wow... that made my head hurt... <.<; Then again, if growth really -is- what the channels are after, then they really DIDN'T have a whole lot of choices, mostly due to censoring....

I like rap so not a problem. And actually Child Prey is mislabeled. It has Warcon Records - Withering to Death as the release. Um last time I checked Child Prey was on Vulger not WTD.

And yea The Final plays on Fuse and Saku plays on Headbangers ball. But you know what pissed me off. The fact that Music Choice had Child Prey, but MTV2 On demand doesn't. They have HeadBangers Ball On Demand with everyother Headbanger ball video on it BUT Saku.

Also I wonder how long its going to take them to realize that they aren't editing out editing out Kyo saying D-men Fvck on Fvck of and wipe. Bands and Cable Stations have been fined for less stuff than that.

But people who say that rapping isn't "Real" music or is dumb and nothing but a waste get on my nerves. Now true at this moment 95% of the rap they play on MTV and BET is trash and sucks. But you do have a few good rappers still.

Also, for anyone who doesn't already know... On their official site, Dir en grey have a part titled 'read before purchasing tickets'... it is basically the band asking people not to mosh and/or crowd surf during their shows. They don't want any of their fans to get hurt, and legal action from the band can be taken. And by 'crowd surf' they mean virtually any situation where you are being held in the air by another person... shoulder sitting counts.

Child Prey is the second opening for Baki... I've got the first few dvd's of it, but i haven't gotten around to watching them... anyway, it was mentioned in an issue of NewType a while back... that's how I found out about it in the first place.

I understand exactly what you mean. What is really sad about the whole thing is that most bigshots in the media will try and give them bad names, just because they are not from the same region. For example, part of the reason that Diru has had to wait so long to do a concert/tour in America is because venues were under the impression that they didn't have a large enough fan-base to be able to make them (the venues) any money. But, luckily Diru have a very good persuasionist as a leader. Kaoru made an offer the venues couldn't refuse.... I bet they were shocked when the tickets sold out. :lol:

I'm not entirely certain exactly what happened, but I know that Kaoru told the NY venue that there would be good ticket sales, and that if there wasn't, and they didn't drop the show rights, then he would personally pay them double what they actually pulled in for the show. Originally, there were going to be 10 shows, but venues kept dropping them, until there were only the three... while arrangements for the LA show were being made, Kyo reportedly gave them an earful when they also considered dropping the rights.

You know, one would think that after it happened enough times, the shock factor would wear off. *sighs* Some people just aren't too quick, are they?

Haha. Pretty much. Baki the Grappler is actually pretty horrible. The storyline is treachorous and the animation is really dramatized.
The English Translated opening is Child Prey by DEG, but the only decent video of it I can find is on YouTube and a guy recorded his computer screen. xDD

So really I don't think it's worth of the fame DEG has, but Funimation likes to make all the Japanese show's opennings into English....But I don't see how Child Prey fits in with Baki the Grappler. ><

Stupid Americans underestimating Dir en grey. And you know Dir en grey got good Buzz from selling out just those 2 shows and SxSW. So imagine how much media attention if they could have gotten all 10 shows like they wanted. Cause I gaurentee you they would have sold out.

As for them being on TV, The Final has played Fuse, MTV 2 -Saku- and someone said, although I have never seen it to verify if it was true or not that Clever Sleazoid has played late night on MTV.

And you know what I am hearing different reports as to who it was that got them the slot on the FVT. Someone said it was Munky and Jon who saw them live in L.A. Someone on Batsu is claiming that it was Corey from Slipknot/Stone Sour who got them on.

Well whoever it is I thank them.

Um... I would assume it was someone from KoRn who actually got them on, considering that they are going to be a several special shows that are not part of the tour. If you go to www.free-will-america.com , you can see the list of locations. OKC and Las Vagas, as well as others, are on there as special shows that are not part of the tour. They will only have KoRn, Dir en grey, and, for some, Flyleaf. So it would only make sense that someone from KoRn got them in. <.<; At least that is what makes sense to me...

It was on Headbangers ball which comes on at 10pm EST on Saturdays. Its no time slot you just have to watch the show and grit through all the crappy bands (not all are crappy but alot are) till they show the pv if they show it at all

Um... they aren't showing any on the schedule. In fact, they only show three cities for the shows. Corpus Christi, OKC, and Vegas. Bear in mind that the special shows are more expensive than the tour shows.

yeah, it would be worth it. the only thing stopping me from going to the OKC show is the fact that i have already paid for the dallas show, and have no money that i can spend right now. if by some miracle, i have the money to go before they sell out, then i will definately be there. i can't spend any more money for a little while though because i am going to Japan at the end of the month to see the Budokan shows on the 31st and 1st. i need to save money for that trip. and if KoRn doesn't give them more playtime, then they are cheap, and lose any respect for them that i have. no offense to any really big KoRn fans.

as for them traveling in a tour bus, i don't think they will mind all that much. Daisuke and Kyo have already said that they really liked the scenery in the US. on top of that, if they travel by tour bus, then they will be a lot less likely to end up getting themselves lost, ne? because, -theoretically- they would be following KoRn's bus... and one would have to hope that the people who organized the tour knew where they were going. <.<; anyway, from what i've gathered, they really liked their first visit to America... and first impression is the most important one, ne? plus, with them going to Vegas there is sure to be enough to make them want to come back for more... that and Toshiya mentioned that he really likes the beer in America. <.<;

Toshiya looks good with long hair, as long as it isn't blonde and curly. <.<; Toshiya, Daisuke, and Kaoru should really stay away from bleach. they do NOT look good with blond hair. the only ones who can pull that off in Diru are Shinya and Kyo. Kaoru can, however, pull off the blonde streak look very nicely.

I don't think they will. At any rate, not for a long time. When asked what he planned to be doing in 5 years, Die replied "still be with Dir en grey." From what I understand, the band has no intention of breaking up.The most that could happen would be that they do small side projects, but nothing that would jepordize the band as a whole. They have come too far to give up now, ne? Besides, if they did disband, they would have to deal with very angry fans... not me personally, because I might be able to understand whatever reasons that they would have, but there would be a lot of angry people out there who would probably go so far as to threaten their lives for quitting. And I'm not saying any of you would be one of the latter angry people, so please don't misunderstand. I'm just saying... they have a lot left in front of them in the eyes of the fans, and if they quit now, it would be very bad. For them and the fans. Don't get me wrong, I would be very disappointed if they did, but if they felt it was for the best, then I would have to support them in their next endeavors... as any true fan should. And, that was a good point you brought up, boobiebutt. If they were even so much as thinking of splitting up, they wouldn't go through the trouble of arranging such long tours so quickly. On top of that, they wouldn't be so focused on expanding their fanbase.... ie, they wouldn't care to come to America or Germany. In fact, they would probably cut back to only touring in Japan and China. Okay, I think I have given enough of an argument for right now, so I will go ahead and let this go. it's ok, Precious4e, we have all either written or read the horrid words together if we have read or posted on this last page. *trying to be comforting, but probably failing* my poor friend would not hear the end of their music for at least a week, as it would be the only thing that would be played in the presence of any cd-playing-stereo or dvd player.
I'm sure they will. they now know for a fact that they have a lot of fans here, and so they wouldn't just leave us out to dry. they will come back... it may have to be with another band for a bit, but only until the venues open their eyes and ears to the fact that they -are- what we want. like i was just saying in the Gazette forum, it is a good thing that someone- a band- is able to catch on to how big Diru is, for that matter, that -any- Japanese band is, and with their help, the Japanese band(s) increase their chances of being able to come here and hold a tour on which they are the headliner. On top of that, they have already stated that they enjoyed their experience here. Kaoru even went so far as to say "even people who had no idea who we are, left with a good impression that we were coming back." hell, maybe next time, they will be the headliners, and will be able to do a full-blown tour. *hopeful*

i have to drive to Dallas from OKC in a car with my mom, who doesn't like any of the bands but agreed to go if i went with her to see Cinderella, my sister, who is prone to seizures if she doesn't eat right or get enough sleep, my best friend, who is afraid of large groups of people but loves Diru enough to endure it, my other friend, who is only going so that she can see StoneSour, and one of her friends, who i am indifferent with. this is going to be loads of fun... i found out after i put my bank account in the hole to get the tickets that Diru, KoRn, and Flyleaf are coming to OKC... :okashii: alot of good it did me then. anyway, i can tell you right now, it will definately be worth it. *nods* i went to their SxSW show, and they are awesome! and that cost me nearly $900 for 3 tickets. honestly, it feels quite nice to have only paid 117 for 6 this time around. Diru was my 1st JRock concert. the second was Penicillin-NANO. the third, fourth, and fifth will be Diru as well. <.<; i got lucky... and won't be able to hear for a few days at the beginning of August, at least nothing shy of a shout anyway. and, trust me, i don't like the bands that they are with either... the ONLY reason KoRn gets points, is because they let Diru tour with them. I am only going on account of seeing Dir en grey.

Aha! I found it! I remembered I had this printed out, so I had to go through all the fanfic that I have, but I found it, and Imma put it on here for you all to see, if you want to. Warning, you may want to have some tissues handy.


Beep. Beep. Beep.
This couldn't be happening. Toshiya refused to believe it. Just the day before they were all practicing in the studio, all of them... the bassist and his four best friends. Kaoru had smiled at him, and it made him feel warm inside. If the Leader-sama said you did well, you knew he was telling the truth. It was more than that, though. Toshiya developed feelings for the eldest member of his group, but he knew Kaoru wasn't even interested in guys.
Everyone was gathered in the small white room. Die was leaning on Shinya, his face buried into the drummer's shoulder. It was obvious that the joker of their group was rather upset as well. Shinya was silent, staring at the bed. Kyo stared down into his coffee, and not a word left his mouth.
And there was Kaoru... Toshiya had never seen him so helpless. Wasn't he supposed to be strong? He was the Leader-sama! Tears threatened to fall from his dark eyes as he looked over Kaoru's form again. He was supposed to always be happy.. but how could he be with Kaoru in the hospital? How could a drunk have swerved onto the sidewalk? If Toshiya ever found that man... He shook his head, and a few tears dropped into his lap. His seat was right next to Kaoru's bed, and he gripped Kaoru's hand tightly.
"Please, Kaoru... You have to make it." Toshiya couldn't even recognize his own voice as he spoke. "Open your eyes," it was a simple plead, right?
Suddenly, he felt Kaoru's hand start to grip his, and Toshiya's eyes went wide. He almost wanted to shout so the others would notice, but he couldn't get himself to speak. Did this mean Kaoru was going to be okay?! His lips started to move! Toshiya's insides jumped, Kaoru was going to be alright! He knew... He knew the guitarist could make it through this!
"Aish'teru, Toshiya..." It was a faint whisper, but the guitarist finally spoke. "Always," Toshiya felt more tears fall, but now it was because he couldn't be happier.
The skinny bassist opened his mouth to speak. He needed to tell Kaoru everything..! And then they could be together! "Kaoru! I-I..." But that was when he felt it. Kaoru's grip let go, and all of a sudden.. there wasn't anymore beeping from his heart monitor. The only sound Toshiya caught was Die choking a sob. "No!" Toshiya screamed, and he launched himself forward, hugging himself to Kaoru. "You have to wake up, Kaoru! I didn't.. I didn't get to tell you that I love you! We're supposed to be together now! Please.. Kaoru get up!"
A gentle hand pressed to Toshiya's sobbing form. It was Shinya, the quiet drummer knew that this was difficult for his best friend. "Toshiya.. he's... in a better place now."
"Don't touch me! He's going to wake up any moment, you'll see! Then he's going to start yelling at us because we're not practicing!" Toshiya was still sobbing, but he felt a small forced laugh leave him. "And tomorrow we're going to be Dir en grey again! And he and I are going to be..."
"Toshiya..." Shinya sighed, trying to pull the elder man off of Kaoru. "He's gone. You have to let go of him."
The bassist started to cling tighter. "Didn't you hear me?! I said he's going to be fine!" Kaoru felt so cold.. this wasn't real! Kaoru could never die..! He moved to pull Kaoru's arm around his waist, and buried his face into Kaoru's neck, still sobbing.
It took closer to two hours for Shinya, Die, and Kyo to collect themselves enough to pull Toshiya off and drive him home. They all agreed to stay at Toshiya's house, to make sure he didn't do anything to harm himself. But the second they got there, Toshiya ran into his room and locked the door.
"He'll be alright," Shinya sighed, sitting on the couch. "He just needs to let it all out. We all do."
Toshiya wasn't alright. Far from it. The bassist snatched a knife from his drawer and crawled into bed. He set the knife on the bed stand, and cried into his pillow. There was no way to stop himself from shaking, and he only had one thing on his mind.
Slowly, pale fingers reached for the knife that he had set near him. He really thought the blade would feel rather cold against his skin, but he couldn't feel anything. Almost as if he was numb to everything. With a steady hand, he carved Kaoru into his right arm, then wrote his own name in his left. Black orbs focused on the ceiling for a moment, before he just sliced into his own wrists, cutting through one of the most dangerous veins in his body. "Aish'teru," was the only word he murmured, before he closed his eyes.
Kaoru came for him. Toshiya sat up, and he felt warmth, Kaoru was holding him... protecting him with.. wings?! "Come with me," the Leader-sama instructed, taking the younger male's hand.
"Always." Toshiya murmured softly, taking Kaoru's hand.
Two graves sat on top of a grassy hill. Three best friends came by every day to talk to Kaoru and Toshiya, even if they other two couldn't hear them. The headstone they shared was beautiful. An angel surrounded by two hearts locked together.
Shinya leaned against Die, who's eyes were watery. Kyo hadn't said a word to either of them in the three weeks that Toshiya and Kaoru had been dead, but he still showed up every day.
"See what we've become without you?" Shinya whispered.

What I ment about my comment was that I love Yaoi. But real person fanfiction I think its disrespectful. Now I am not going to say that I haven't read a few, cause I have read the occasional fic. But mostly those that are pg maybe pg-13 waff and fluff fics. I dont like the hardcore stuff.

As far as any member being gay, I am with Sunsweet on this one, Shinya sets my gaydar off, as does many other JRockers. But I have heard that he does have a girl friend. I even heard one rumor that he got a girl pregnant in HS. But even so Shinya might not be Gay, but he aint 100% straight either.

yeah, i agree. a lot of the fanfics out there have a tendency to go into too much detail, so i usually end up either skipping those parts, or convincing myself that they are completely different people who just have the same names.

as for shinya: i can believe that he isn't gay. not so much that he had/has a girlfriend right now, but it wouldn't be unheard of if he did... he is damn sexy after all.

...then what is it about? I mean, obviously it being a music video and a band it's partly about the music, but nonetheless videos are also about the visuals and creating visual representation of said music ... and usually with bands their music would be representative of each of them, not just one of them, thus the confusion on why the last few videos have been strictly (for the most part) focused on Kyo. It's just odd.

Not complaining, because I quite enjoy looking at Kyo, but it's a noticeable change and an honest question to wonder about, ne?

Perhaps the plot of the video is centered around only Kyo and the director couldnt figure out where the rest would fit in. Maybe kyo is struggling with something the other members arent and they wanted to make it as personal to him as they could. All of the DEG videos I have seen shows the other members.

...yeah, it's not like I (or probably any of you) have any clue what the song is talking about so I don't really know the answer to my own question, lol, I just think it's an honest thing ponder ...I'm also playing devil's advocate in a way. Most videos feature the lead singer more than any of the other members because that's the nature of "fronting" a band. The lead singer is required to be more dynamic and engaging than the other members, (not to say that the others aren't) and a lot of the weight of the song is placed on them, no matter what band it is. I think this much is obvious... so it's not like it's that different for a video to focus on Kyo.

You can't join [a knot] unless you have a japanese address or alot of japanese sites that let you buy stuff from yahoo japan auctions allow you join fan clubs of your favorite japanese artists, they use a japanese address and then send the stuff to you and you just pay for shipping of it and the cost of the items.

...he's been in the hospital 4 days.... the article said that he's been having problems like this for a while now, so... maybe he should just have his tonsils removed.... and, he wouldn't have to stay in the hospital for more than a couple days after that, and then they could carry on as normal.... they would all be able to go back to living their lives, and not have to worry about Kyo's condition... past the first couple days, when they would have to really watch to make sure he didn't end up with some kind of infection, but aside from that.... <.<; okay... imma shut up now....

yeah, but the change isn't normally so drastic that he wouldn't be able to do any of the stuff they have done so far... and his voice has already changed a great deal from when they started. granted, that is due to all the smoking and screaming done over the years, but i'm sure everyone will understand a slight change in his voice if it means his problems will go down that much more. i mean, even if it means a change in his voice, i'd rather him have the source of the problem (in this case, his tonsils) removed, rather than have him suffer like this every so often, you know? real fans won't care if there is a slight change in his voice, as long as he is healthy and able to keep being Kyo. i don't know... maybe i'm weird for thinking it would be better, but it seems like it would be the smart thing to do. true fans won't care.

I have listened to 2 tracks off Ryoujoku no Ame! the title track and Higeki wa mabuta wo oroshita yasashiki utsu. They are pretty good although Higeki... is a bit slow and draggy for my taste :sorry: Ryoujoku no Ame is quite good though. :)

I just wish they had included more than one studio-recorded track... I like to hear songs live but they had 3 live tracks on CS, and it's good to be able to hear it studio-recorded first, and then live. :(

Personally I think they have written more interesting songs than Ryoujoku no Ame, but it's not bad. :cool: Without wishing to sound like I'm harking back to 'old days' (I loved WTD!), I think songs like Jealous, Fukai, Red... [em] and Gyakujou Tannou Keloid Milk are better than Ryoujoku no Ame; they keep me interested more... anyway, I can't wait to hear the other 2 tracks as well, though! ^^

Nana: i thought it was great! with the exception of the access pass being fake... ;.; that was a big disappointment for me and my friend.... but, yeah, that was me. ^.^; oh, and another slight downer was that it looked like Die cut his hair... ;.; i really liked his long-ish hair... and now... it's gone... :( and then there is the fact that Toshiya went back to having blonde hair... that man should really stay away from hair bleach.... blonde hair doesn't suit him.... <.<; my personal opinion.... but, yeah, that aside, i thought it was awesome. and the lights got a little annoying some times. ^.^;

Do you know what shows and where at? Will you have to go to the FYE tent to get their autographs? Will it be at FVT shows or the Las Vegas shows with just Diru and Korn?

well, at first i assumed they would, since it's done in most festivals, but it was confirmed on the FV forum. someone even took pics! it was only shinya and kaoru, though.

apparently you go buy the WTD cd from FYE, get a wristband, and you get to shake hands, and say hi, no autographs, though, guess that's all they agreed to.

it's better than nothing.
