I just really got into j-rock recently, some bands I like are Dir En Grey, Gazette, Kagrra, and Globe. Being a bit of an idiot, I don't know too many other bands besides D'espairs Ray and Nightmare (but I haven't heard any of their music).
Can anyone recommend to me something new?

welcome to jref.
Are you on a decent connection? If you search for some livejournal communities such as jcrack that have members sharing samples of JRock bands, you're basically in VK J-Rock heaven and you'll have access to a lot of new artists.
PS- Just wondering- isn't GLOBE j-pop?

I guess you could call it decent. Downloading doesn't take too long for me on music so I guess I can check it out, even though I'm not a livejournal user. ^^;
For Globe, I'm not sure, I just got into it cause I was following Yoshiki through his career and happened to stumble across it.

You could try http://vnl.no-ip.com/ Sign up is free and not only can you listen to audio, but you can search galleries for photos and watch PVs.
Also try http://music.myspace.com/ and search under Japan.
This site is great for Jrock PVs http://youtube.com/
Search specific Jrock artists or songs on here and you can listen to them for free http://radioblogclub.com/

Wow, thank you so much for the warm welcome everyone! :-)
For me it's better to download, because it's quicker and cheaper. And I have a lot of friends who take me a lot of music. Last weekend one of my friends gave me a whole Dir en Grey DVD with pv-s, music, concerts and a stuff that made for the Original Fanclub of Dir en Grey. I was really happy to get it. :wave: :bluush:

Hey!! Welcome, even though I'm here every 15 days!!
Well, I can help you out with japanese punk & heavy metal bands, but I'm not sure to upload files so often (I still owe a lot of files I promised to Kinsao :sorry: ) or be in Slsk to share them (sorry Demon!!)
Well, see you later!

@andro- yeah, I typically fileshare to get and give files via the net, because no stores near me even sell jrock. (There's a suncoast about an hour away but I haven't been there)
@SaKeVi- ^^ well I like all sorts of music, so I'm up for a taste of anything, then once I hear it I usually know if I like it or not.
