Hi,

My friend I are planning to visit Hokkaido for a week in Janaury. I want to teach her to ski, any recommendations for nice hotels/ski resorts?

This place was recommended to me by a colleague - Niseko Higashiyama Price Hotel?

Also looking for other attractions around - might hire a car for a couple of days and drive around.. would be interested in a nice onsen, and any other tips that anyone can suggest!

I read about the Festival of Ice which looks nice

cheers

If you're going for a week, I wouldn't sweat it, but the time I went boarding in Hokkaido, the package was for a nice resort, but was about 90 minutes by train away from the airport, or 3 hours by bus. Of course, the package only included a bus ticket. O_o It was only for a weekend as well so we wasted half a day on the bus.

I have been to only Hokkaido of summer.
Trip visitors from Australia seem to have increased in Niseko recently.
Therefore service by English seems to have increased with a hotel and a guide.
