View Full Version : Moon Surface Bunny Weapon Mina
In case you didn't already know, Moon Surface Bunny Weapon Mina is the fictional anime featured in the J-Dorama series Densha Otoko.
Is there any possibility of this fictional anime going anywhere? Is there a fan base for it? Is anyone working on art for it? :?
Have I lost my mind? :worried:
Wait . . . I know the answer already to the last one, so you don't have to tell me! :bluush:
Hm . . . does anyone else here really want to talk about Moon Surface Bunny Weapon Mina, or should I just crawl off to an anime BBS? :worried:

:bravo: It is Moon Surface Bunny Weapon Mina!!! Wow! I recognized the opening for Densha Otoko on the second link, but where in the world did you find the first link!?! :bikkuri:
Wait . . . a quick check shows that the animation is by Anno Hideaki from Gainax and was made in 1983!!! Wow! What a find, Nagashima-san! :bravo: :yeahh:

DAIKON FILM
"Daicon Film" is the name for the group which initially came together at the Daicon 3 and 4 Japanese SF Conventions. This group of otaku took this name when they started making amateur films.

400,000yen!?!? It's a cool figure, but . . . sheesh!!! Is it 400,000yen for the figure actually used in the Densha Otoko series, or for a reproduction? If it is the actual figure used in filming, I guess I could understand how it would cost so much . . .
Some more thoughts:
1) I wonder how many other people would actually be interested in a Mina anime (even if it were just a single animation and not a whole series).
2) Did completely different animators do the Densha Otoko Mina, or did any of the Daikon Film animators collaborate on the updated Mina?
3) There were other clips of the Mina animation throughout the Densha Otoko series; anyone know where I might find these?
4) Why can't I have normal interests? :bluush:

Nagashima-san! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
OK, I gotta know: which search engine are you digging all of this wonderful Mina info on? I googled Mina (with various combinations, like Densha Otoko and Moon Surface Bunny Weapon), but I didn't have nearly the success that you did! Are you using a Japanese search engine?
BTW . . . alright, someone, please, tell me how I can get a Mina figurine shipped to the U.S.! *calculates for a moment* 9,240yen . . . um . . . that's like about $85, right? Hm . . . I wonder how much overtime I could work between now and Christmas . . . :?

Well, even thought this isn't necessarily a massively popular thread, I feel a need to just keep it going some more because I have so many questions and thoughts . . . gomen nasai!:sorry:
I was wondering if anyone (Nagashima-san) knew of any other characters in the Mina story?
I found a very good article in English here:
http://bluemist.animeblogger.net/archives/densha-otoko-and-daicon-iv/
Oh, and the other big question I have is, what is the name for Mina in Japanese . . . I mean, the full 'Moon Surface Bunny Weapon Mina'? I found it on a site awhile back, but then lost it! Argh!
Also, not that anyone much cares, but I am thinking of doing some fanart . . . I wonder if I should post it here or just keep it to myself . . . :?
well i was gonna bump the otaku thread, but i will post it here in that case
viz is releasing densha otoko
