First; Gomen for my depression replies on some of the threads, been down a bit but now everything is A OK  I'm back to my old Yaoi-lovin' self :-)

Anyway. Jrockers come and go, some always stay in our heart, some, sadly, just fade away......
Who will survive the destruction of time, who is the King of JRock?

For me, Yoshiki. The one and only. (X-japan became legends for a reason, all of them were just...well, we all know how X is... hehe... Yoshiki has an eye for talent) When it comes to music, I have to say that Diru is my fav. band but when it comes to Rock-god-like-men...... X takes the price.
Ofcourse, hide, immortal....
IF Yoshiki-sama dies (It won't happen, he can't. That's the way it is. But IF) they should make a shrine for him, or a museeum, like they did for hide-sama.
Stil don't understand why they closed it... Stupid people!!

Well, so, what do you think?

I can't pick just one... :worried:
But for me, the most important figures in jrock are:

Kaoru. Where would we be without Dir en grey? :-)
Yoshiki. What Child Prey said.
Gackt. Yeah, well - where would we be without Gackt? :giggle: (I think of his music as more "pop" now, but he's definitely one of the most famous...)
Mana. Love him or loathe him, you can't deny his influences, if only on clothing. (Although... Queen of jrock, rather?)
Kozi. Because I love him. There doesn't have to be a reason. Nuff said.
Syu. Because he is an amaaaaaaazing guitarist.
Hizumi. Because D'espairsRay are one of the greatest jrock bands, and they have a unique sound that no one else can replicate.
Uhhh... I was gonna say Isshi... and then I was gonna say Akiya... and then I was like, oh hell, ALL of Kagrra,!!! :sorry: Because they are really something different the way they have the traditional influence and you never hear anything like them...

Yoshiki IS the god of Jrock, I wholly agree...he just blows me away sometimes.

But then again, there are also some others I respect so sickeningly much if I met them I would just bow down and worship the very ground that they walk on. Some examples would be Shinya, Daisuke, Uruha, Aoi, and Isshi.

hide is the king of j-rock for me.
It's not like he's my only favourite, but he's the one who diserve that title the most, I think.

I don't see any reason NOT to worship him. :p *sneaks off to closet to build a shrine*

I wouldn't say he's the king of Jrock to everyone...

... but y'all know who I'm gonna pick. I don't even have to say it! I'll keep it a secret...

If not Him... then I'd pick Hide. He's special...

... you're making it sound as if I was mentally ill... *eye twitch* ... I'm not obsessed... it's just a silly infatuation, that's all.. *eye twitch* .. I would never try and get my hands on his adress and track him down and stalk him and try to steal his clothes... :relief: ... or wait? What? What am I talking about again?
.. I promise it's not that bad... :relief: ... in my head, he's just simply the best, that's all! :D :D :D :D :D

However, I'd actually pick Hide!

There isn't really a king of jrock. :relief: Alot of you I know say hide and Yoshiki, however Kyo has unique features which X Japan didn't[or maybe I should say Dir en grey]. That goes also for bands like laruku[killing me, new world, Lost heaven, Stay away], Gazette[the social riot machine, reila, No.666], The Pillows [Whom had many MANY songs but none of you NEVER mention them. :o] Malice Mizer mainly, Malizer had songs that none of the others could produce...Je tu veux!:DHope that shines upon the subject.:relief:

You got the point Yokan. All those bands are extremly good and interesting, but X Japan and hide were one of the first bands who were visuals i think. So that's probably because most of people like to give hide or yoshiki that title *points to the title of the thread* :relief:

The King of J-Rock is hard to say. Cause like rika shinya pointed out the king has to eventually pass the crown. I mean everyband has had their era when they were on top of the world. I can think of many GREAT bands who you would say ruled during their time. And then you have a band like X-Japan, who not only during their time was King, but have their legacy that makes people forever love them. But I feel that you can always be great and always be a legend that will always be talked about but eventually you have to pass the Baton.

So For Me, KINGS of J-Rock (pass, present and possible future)
X-Japan
Luna Sea
Malice Mizer
L'arc~en~Ciel
Dir en Grey
The Pillows
B'z
Gackt
and we have our young Princes:
Miyavi
Gazette
D'espairs Ray (old band, but for me not quite King)
Kaggra,

I love Janne Da Arc too, they are also in my list of Kings of J-rock. :-) speaking of princes, maybe Vidoll could be next..even though they are still indies. Jui definately has some impressive vocals.
