Hi there! I'm Michael and I need some help. I found a song that I really love, but the problem is that the song was mislabeled when I got it, so I don't know who the artist or band is who made it. I want to find more music from this artist/band but since the song is in another language, I can't look up the lyrics on google.com or anything. So I was wondering if someone could take a listen to this song and tell me what the lyrics are so I can google them and hopefully find out who made the song (I need the lyrics in both english and the other language because I'm not sure googling the english translation would give me the right information). I previously though that the lyrics were Icelandic but after asking an Icelander I was told the song *may* be Japanese. Anywho, I've put the song on my website here:

As well, the song was labeled Bjork - Medulla - Submarine, but it is *not* Bjork, nor is the song called Submarine.
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me!
Michael

Yes, but is it Japanese? And if so, can you (or someone reading this) translate it? That's what I need.

I can make out some Japanese.. But not a lot. It's hard to hear what they are singing.

So it is Japanese then? How much can you make out? Maybe it's enough to find the song on Google.

Well, parts of it definitely sounds like Japanese. I think it could be. But I can't hear enough... Maybe ask a native Japanese speaker?

Interesting! Never heard much of Japanese ambient-electronica-pop before, so this is a pretty neat find.
As far as I can tell, it is Japanese. I did a search on the first couple words as lyrics, and came up with nothing, even with a hiragana search. Sorry about that.
You could ask some livejournal communities for assistance, since there are always a ton of folks who frequent them. I'll PM you the links, because I'm not sure if sharing mp3 community sites is allowed.

Yeah, I think having more than just a few words are needed for googling lyrics. But any and all lyrics I can find are greatly appreciated. I'm so desperate to find more from this artist/band because I love this song so much and this type of music is so rare. Only, like, Bjork and occasionally Sigur Ros make this kind of ethereal/electronica emotional stuff.
And Drain_Away, I can definitely use YouSendIt.com to send it to you but I'll need your email address. That goes for anyone else who's having trouble getting the song from my site.
Thanks so much! I know I'm so close to find out who this artist is!

well, it wasn't that i typed too few words, it's that the lyrics didn't show up at all, and I tried every permutation of possible misheard syllables I could think of (even in hiragana). This probably might be some indication of how hard to find information on this artist is. It'd be interesting to see what comes up.

Merboy: you can post the link on here. it gives you a link once you've uploaded the file, so just post it here. you don't need email addresses. i used to think you did, but you can send stuff without filling in any of that. you can also PM the link to people.

AHHH! At last! I've found someone who recognized the song! My search is over! The quest is ended! Hoorah!!! Thank you so much to all of you who helped! I've been contacting people all over the world like a madman trying to find this artist. I asked Icelanders, Germans, Eastern Europeans, and people from various Eastern countries if they so much as recognized the language! Finally! I've got it!
The artist ACO and the song is "Machi".
Sadly, however, what I heard on ACO's discography page wasn't quite the same thing I was hoping for. I'm looking for more songs that are sort of electronica/ambient/mellow like Machi (which means "town", right?)? I just loved that song so much and I'm looking for more music like that. What a rare find, man.
Anyways, thanks *soooooo* much to all of you who helped!

Hey, good job. I'm glad you were able to get the info you needed.
As a matter of fact, I also love electronica-ambient stuff too. I've been trying to search out for similar style music. I've heard good stuff about Ryuichi Sakamoto, who does both electronica and (classical?) music. However, I haven't tried him out myself, so I don't know what his music is like. His daughter, though, Miu Sakamoto does beautiful collaborations (she sings, others write the music) that can get on the electronica-ambient side sometimes, but with a distinctive j-pop flair, if you're interested. A sample of one of my favorites of hers, a collab. with ex-Luna Sea's SUGIZO, can be found here:
Miu Sakamoto - The Eighth Colour (http://s57.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=23DLPRRNJ43M92Q3JD707W3HHI)
I'll let you know if I find anything else. Your sample reminded me of some Western artists I've briefly heard, as well, although I'm afraid I don't have any specifics in mind.

Hey, I'm glad you found out who it was! I had a listen to the song, but I didn't have a clue... It's a gorgeous piece, though...
Thanks for the link, Lastmagi! I'd be interested to hear that - I like Luna Sea. :-)
