OKAY, in light of recent events I have decided to make this thread and it's a safe haven for Hyde Fanatics. *builds a shrine to Hyde*bows down to shrine*
So this is a place to talk about Hyde, post pics of Hyde, drool over Hyde and just about anything else to do with Hyde that does NOT include flaming, bashing etc. This is a safe haven so bashing is not allowed.

Hm, I didn't catch any bashing of Hyde. Where did you see it (not that I'll bother to look- seeing people bash others is always depressing)? Well, there's nothing to really bash him about. Great voice, makes nice "epic" songs like Ophelia and Anemone, love his personality during his media appearances...

What's interesting about him is he's got such a strong voice for such a little body :sorry: :p

Hyde/Kei so made Moon Child for me. That teeny-tiny little guy playing the bad *** vampire(though he's pretty emo half the movie :p ) is just so great. It makes the character so unique.

Hyde's so great in Moon Child. He brings so many different angles and levels to the character; depth, a strange innocence as well as badass-ish-ness. He is an amazing actor. He makes me jealous.

I just watched Moon Child :love: such an awesome movie. The fact that it stars two hot J-Rockers notwithstanding it's still awesome, even if they weren't J-Rockers it'd still be a wonderful movie.

Some VERY fun facts about Hyde:
Hyde has his belly button pierced! He had it done around 96/97
Hyde has angel wing tattoos. He got them around 2000...I think, don't quote me on that.
Before he was in L'Arc~en~Ciel he was the guitarist for the band Kiddies Bomb (which changed it's name to Jeruselem's Rod shortly before he left it)
His mother would make him wear a red backpack to school when he was a child. (Red backpacks are/were typical for girls)
Hyde has several copies of his (custom made) pentacle ring in different colors and has been known to lose one every once in awhile. The original ring design is a copy of one of Marilyn Manson's rings.
He has a huge appetite and eats a lot even though he's so tiny (must have a high metabolism)
On the most common picture of his wing tattoos (The one that has the Japanese written on it) the words were written by the tattoo artist and they say: "Hyde tattooed a pair of wings on his back, even though Hyde said 'I prefer the devil.' Still, he chose the angel in the end. After many observations, I realized that angel's wings are really more suitable for Hyde. During the photo shoot, as I saw the wings on Hyde's pale, never-been-tanned skin, I felt a fleeting yet imprinted feeling of satisfaction; From now on, using that pair of wings, Hyde can fly freely." Awwwww! That's so sweet.
One time, while on set of Moon Child, Hyde was waiting for Gackt to finish his filming for the day and started riding around on his motorbike, making a lot of noise and showing off to try and get Gackt's attention.
Hyde loves to draw but, because he is color blind, he mostly sketches in black and white.
Hyde designs some of his own clothing (shirts and such) as well as some of the Hydeist stuff you can buy on his site.
Tetsu has nick-named him Doi Hachiro, which I've roughly translated to mean "major troublemaker" as he is often very mischievious. And I think that the Doiha part of it is Haido backwards (when written using katakana) but currect me if I'm wrong.
Hyde's a big fan of Harry Potter.
Another Moon Child story: one time, Hyde was napping in his chair on set and when he woke up, Gackt was very, very close to his face and said something about wanting to kiss him. And as far as I know, to this day neither Rocker will say what Hyde's answer was, teeheehee ^-^
Gackt has said many times that he's in love with Hyde. Awww!
Hyde was in the audience at one of Gackt's performances in 2004 (I think it was the one on his birthday) and blew Gackt a kiss. *squeals*
Hyde appears to have an oral fixation. Example: he's always flicking his tongue or doing other strange and equally sexy things with it.
His album Roentgen was recorded in England.
He also recorded two versions of Roentgen; the Japanese version that features a mix of English and Japanese lyrics as well as an overseas version done completely in English, which has now been re-released in Japan with an additional 3 tracks
Hyde hates hot and sticky weather.

What's everyone's favorite Hyde moments? I have a few:

-Meeting Megumi - It makes you feel warm inside, since it reminds you of when couples first get together and start very nervously. Also loved how Hyde mishears Ken (Tetsu?) offstage telling him to get her number: "(Denwa bango!)" "Tabako...?"

-Tamagotchi - While talking with some guy in a show (? not sure of context), Hyde's Tamagotchi beeps so he has to take it out.

-Play acting with Ken - I deleted the video because it was a lousy quality, but I think I remember one of those two acting as a villanous gangster. The acting was playfully ridiculous.

-Forbidden Lover PV - loved his dramatic expressions

-Shallow Sleep PV - not as much him as much as the PV as a whole that I loved.

-MoonChild, making someone regret a certain something - Don't wanna give it away, though (hint: it's the second kill that we see, I think).

-coughing during Promised Land live - nothing special, he just got something in his throat during one part of Light My Fire's Promised Land. Gotta stop smoking!

The next part is a little OT:

Vincent Gallo ruined what could have been a very good PV. I honestly imagined him, as he was directing Anemone, to have slunked down in his chair, waving his arm around, saying: "So yeah, just stand there and do your playing thing and I'll add in a couple of dancing girls," as if the song was worth that crap of a video.

I hate Vincent Gallo, not just for his questionable skills, but also as a person...

While the offer is arguably satirical, some people were offended by its racist conditions, one of which excludes "those of extremely dark complexions".

In his personal website, and including several interviews, specifically a March 2002 interview with USA Today, Gallo defended is views of the inferiority of certain races, claiming that the darker ones skin was, the less intelligent they were. Many of his supporters state that this is just a publicity stunt.

I don't deny that their looks were good, or that the song is one of their highest in quality, but as a PV in and of itself is what I was talking about, so I'm still a bit unsure of where the prettiness factor of the PV comes in.

I listened to the song before watching the PV, and probably there was some personal bias, because I kind of liked my mind-imagination version of the song. I'm sure the rest of you had your own "personal PVs" in your minds when listening to the song without the PV, that were all of a much higher quality than what Gallo spewed out. More importantly, I also just thought Vincent Gallo didn't appreciate the quality of the song or of the band enough to spend that much effort on directing, relying solely on good looks and sex appeal (I mean, what was the point of the dancers?). Sure, there's some art in minimalism, but I couldn't for the life of me see where the art lay in here specifically, as far as PV directing was concerned.

He's a disgusting man, and in this case I think he's a poor director. I wonder, though, what his other works are like....?

What's everyone's favorite Hyde moments? I have a few:

-Meeting Megumi - It makes you feel warm inside, since it reminds you of when couples first get together and start very nervously. Also loved how Hyde mishears Ken (Tetsu?) offstage telling him to get her number: "(Denwa bango!)" "Tabako...?"

-Tamagotchi - While talking with some guy in a show (? not sure of context), Hyde's Tamagotchi beeps so he has to take it out.

-Play acting with Ken - I deleted the video because it was a lousy quality, but I think I remember one of those two acting as a villanous gangster. The acting was playfully ridiculous.

-Forbidden Lover PV - loved his dramatic expressions

-Shallow Sleep PV - not as much him as much as the PV as a whole that I loved.

-MoonChild, making someone regret a certain something - Don't wanna give it away, though (hint: it's the second kill that we see, I think).

-coughing during Promised Land live - nothing special, he just got something in his throat during one part of Light My Fire's Promised Land. Gotta stop smoking!

Anytime he smiles or laughs, it makes my day. I can seriously be having the worst day ever but if I go home and put on a Laruku clip where Hyde smiles...suddenly my day's not so bad anymore.

At the end of the Pieces PV right before he stabs Tetsu. The part where he comes up behind him and whisperes something.

During the Live in the U.S.A perfromance during Ready Steady Go when he jumps up on the speakers and there for his voice cuts out for a sec and all you hear is Tetsu. Don't ask why, I just love that moment.

And yet ANOTHER one from that performance, when they come out after the intermission to perform Honey and Hyde does a double take 'cause the mic's too high on the stand. You can almost hear the thought process of, "WTF people??? I am not that tall." lol

Did you know in 1988-1989, Hyde taught a local high school student drums for one month. Once a week, for 30 minutes.
Not really about Hyde so much but did you know Tetsu snores? Once Laruku's members had to share a hotel room. When asked about what it was like to have to share the room Ken said, "To share the room with Tet-chan is a nightmare! I wanted to die 'cause he snored all night. So NOISY. Could not sleep." Tetsu didn't believe Ken so he asked Hyde. Hyde replied, "Heehee, yeah, I need ear plugs when I share the room with you." :giggle:
Did you know after Hyde finished Art School he could not go to a university so he went to work a part time job. His first job was at Mister Donut located in front of Wakayama Railway Station. But the customers, normally the old people, expected "good service." For example they wanted him to remember what they had ordered the last time they were there. And to top it off every time someone came in he had to say "Irashaimase nanishimashou." So yeah, he quickly changed jobs. :hihi:
