i actually wondered about colored pictures from your first post in this thread.

do you have any advice about scanning your drawings (I might as well do it with my own, so just wondering)

Oh, right :p :blush:

I draw the lines you see, then I colour in Photoshop.

Always scan in colour, that's the most important thing, have the res setting as high as your scanner can go(I usually scan at 1200dpi), making modifications to the size options of course. Then when you've got the image in your colouring program(hopefully not MS Paint), delete the RGB channel, then magenta, change the image to Greyscale, then back to RGB. That'll get rid of any unwanted colour levels, and is good if you use blue pencils for the initial sketching(I don't though).

I draw in many styles as I am still learning, but I also do it so as to not get bogged down by one way of drawing. Though with fan art, I'm obviously using someone else's type of art, but I usually adapt it to my own preferences.
I hope to get as good as you with Photoshop..I'm on the basics right now...The key thing to remember, is the layering.

Duplicating the bottom 'line' layer and hiding it, then making sure the new layer is always on top(multiply), with all the colours going underneath... I try to keep each colour layer separate, makes re-touching easier, though you do kinda end up with a lot of layers(I had about 7-10 layers just to each character, so yah.. quite a lot). If you're doing a comic as I am here, then place the text and bubbles over the top of the line layer.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0...though I also practice with a different version at my cousin's house, right now I don't remember wich version because they've changed it too many times..but yeah..I think that working with the layers is the most confusing part for me, I end with more than 12 layers almost every time...

I'd like to ask, what 3D Genterator do you use? I've tried my hand at "blender" a number of times -- and while I enjoy attempting model creation, I can never really finish a project the way I'd like. It's been quite a while since the last time I've tried.

I've done the video tutorials (which helped a a lot), but... anyway, I digress: What program(s) do you use?

Also, is there a specific name for the style of anime art that you draw? It kind of reminds me of the styles used in animes like YuYu Hakusho and such.

Well thanks for the props. As for 3D generation and such I use the Daz Studio, Bryce 6 and Carrara 6 programs. That said, I just used Photoshop to hand paint these images.

In regards to style, I guess you could say the 'old skool' Anime style.... when doing full on Anime, then if not, it's a combination of Anime mixed with some American graphic comic style :-)
