So you have about 300,000 yen a month? Most language teachers make less than that so if you budget and watch your finances you should do fine - but a lot depends on your lifestyle.
Have fun

190,000 yen a month should be fine as long as you don't deevlop any expensive hobbies like buying records, games, or drugs.
That should be good amount of money to have left a month. When I went I had at least 250,000 yen left after helping my aunt pay for her bills and food for myself the amount of time I spent with her which I only stayed with her 2 weeks each time, but I made sure I had more money left over just incase I found something I really wanted that was really expensive ^_^. Like they said above it just depends on how you are after bills, if you drink you can spend alot of money on alcohol without even realizing it and also on small things like manga if you read it.

If you cannot survive on 190,000 yen per month after all expenses, something is seriously wrong here. 190,000 yen after expenses will allow you have an excellent time and a little shopping in between.
If that were me today, I could have a great time doing everything I wanted and still save probably more than 60 or 70,000 yen left over to save.
If you want to continue to study or seek work after you have studied the language a while there should ne not much of a problem depending on what you want to do.
Since he's from a different country the conversion of his countries money might not be as high as the exchange rate for the American Dollar to Japanese Yen. I know the enchange rate from american to japanese is $1 to 120Yen

I think that this extract from Reuters should address yours and that of others from western countries planning to stay in Japan once and for all:

If you are planning to study in Japan, I am sure that your maths dexterity should be good enough for your own currency calculation, and how you plan to use your own money.
