He is a very good drummer indeed, but he cant really do real blast beats like like norwegian and sweedish black and deathmetal.. Japanese bands always make them much weaker.. but still I really like the way he drumms^^

heh.. I started listning to black and death metal at a way to early age^^;;
So after many years of listning to blastbeats that aresoo fast and hard that it sounds like a train passing.. well.. japanese blastbeating just sounds very weak.. but I think the weak blast beating fits the music.. if it was too hard and fast it would just be a mess.
Well.. there are some bands that have quite heavy blastbeats like Naiad a kick *** japanese emotional hardcore band^^worth checking out^^

I like Manas new look, I think its avreally masculine look for him. Wow though! SHORT hair for him! Hes definately maturing in a nice way. I think hes also maturing emotionally too. His poses show more of a comftorable sense of being him self in my opinion where as all of his lolita photos looked quite awkward. It gives me great hope that with the rebirth of moi dix moi this will be a good change for mana!

Yeah I think its really good for mana to start acting a little more calm and start being comftorable with his gender and who he is. I wrote this big huge essay on what I thought the visuals and lyrics from there last album ment in relation to this becauseif you notice there was a big emphasis placed on the two halfs of mana comming together which was really a beautifull thing.

Ah, I listened to most of Beyond the Gate today! :yeahh: I listened to it all but not the instrumental tracks yet... and I put it on my player, so the order came out random, hehe. I can write what I think about the different tracks... but if anyone hasn't listened yet, I don't want to give ideas... :worried:

Anyway, I like the album... :cool: Before, I kept saying how their songs sounded kinda 'similar'... well, they still do a bit, but I still like the album anyway... I think maybe the similarity is due to timing/pace as well as intervals, because I noticed they seem to use quite a lot of rapid and even notes. As well as melodic minor and possibly Locrian mode... but I'm not sure about this... I could just be imagining it because I'm a little obsessed with Locrian mode at the moment... :worried: :blush:

Seth is certainly a good vocalist and I like his voice; my only criticism is that it would be nice to have heard more of his 'clear' singing - there is quite a lot of growling on this album, and although he does 'sing' on it too, it seems rather quiet; I think that's just the way it's mixed.

The drumming is very good! :cool:

Hmmm... Seems like MdM is moving more thowards melodic death-metal.. Cant wait to hear seth`s voice. I do hope his growling vocals are up to the standards, though I hoped that it wouldnt be any growling.. oh well.. Waiting for the First press edt to arrive in the mail.. might be in this week^^

A lot of the intervals/sequences do strike me as very 'Malice Mizer-ish' (although I hate to say it ><) but that's really hardly surprising, after all! I think that more variation in intervals and timing wouldn't come amiss, but it's still a good album.

Wow, that's a big question! O_o ... uhh... I don't actually know too much of their music with Tetsu (I never properly did my research, hehe), someone said he sings Baroque, is that right? I have that song but I'm not sure which version it is, because I heard Gackt sung it also? :clueless:

Out of Gackt and Klaha I can't really choose a favourite in terms of their voices. They have some similarities; they both have a quite deep voice, quality I like ^^... maybe the quality of Klaha's voice appeals to me a bit more on a personal level but there are some ways in which Gackt's seems to be a bit better... but on the other hand (leaving aside voice and thinking of image and atmosphere) I think Klaha 'fit' better with Malice Mizer... I really couldn't decide on who is the better singer! :mad:

Tetsu was the worst of the 3 vocalists.. but he was good vocalist.. I liked the style of Klahas voice but I still think I like Gackt better.. or the Gackt era.. The Klaha era got too empty.. even though the style was great, its too sorrowful.. I always think of Kami´s death and Gackt leaving.. Malice Mizer was Malice Mizer those days^^

hehe... I started listning to black and death metal when I was in the 3rd grade.. I didnt know quite what it was then, but I knew I loved it! Started to play drumms in a black metal band called Graabein when I was in the 8th grade.. was really cool days^^ Heh.. actually the first brutal cd I got, was in the 8th or 9th grade.. didnt get much cds before that time.. didnt bother then..anyway that cd was of a really cool sweedish band called the sins of the omission. Heard of them?

These days I dont listen to much black or death metal, so the closest thing I get to death is Moi Dix Mois's growling and blastbeating..heh..

Oh and the Moi Dix Mois concert was awesome! was not that much people and waiting in line was pure hell! but when they got on stage all that was long forgotten!
Seth used this awesome megaphone on some of the songs and they had a great mixture of old and new stuff^^ (think they played Dues ex Machina twice..hmmm??)
The new drummer and bassist were awesome too^^
And Seth sounded alot like Juka live^^ This was soo one of the best concerts ever and Ill post some pics of us before the concert and other cool pics from berlin^^

First question first: how beautiful do I think Mana is...?

I think he is very damn beautiful, actually. In a very... particular sort of way. I mean, he looks doll-like, also expressionless, but I don't find that offputting in any way. It's almost like he is a beautiful object to be admired, rather than thought of as a person. I don't mind putting it that way, because I think that is part of the image - I don't really think the audience/viewer is supposed to connect with Mana as a person through his image, only through what is expressed in the music, with the image being carefully contrived to communicate exactly what Mana wants to communicate. And I think the doll-like, object-like quality is part of that image.

In terms of beauty, I could envy Mana... he doesn't have those looks that knock me out, for example, but rather I can think "I wish I was pretty like that". To answer your question perfectly honestly, is not very useful I'm afraid, because I genuinely can't remember when and how I knew that Mana (indeed, all the members of Malice Mizer) were men. :sorry: They were the first j-rock band I stumbled upon, and I read about them on this page:

and I have a feeling that, from that write-up, I was aware from the very start that they were all male. (Well - reading down the page - it does mention "cross-dressing", so yeah, I must have known from then on.) If you read that write-up on Project J, that was my intro to j-rock! :cool: I read down the page, thought "this band sounds interesting!" and came across the Syunikiss link at the bottom. I listened and was instantly hooked. In all honesty I can't for the life of me remember whether I was interested or intrigued by the looks of the band, or whether it was just the write-up that interested me - I have a feeling it was the latter.

So yeah, finding out that Mana was male was no big deal for me. As far as I remember I took it in my stride. :p

I have to say that physically mana is very beautiful BUT ....

well first off beauty like mana has is very delicate and needs to be brought our in specific ways and i dont always think the type of clothing he wears brings it out. Not to say he dosent look good in a dress but i think sometimes he wears dresses that were made for people of a different stature or his hair needs to be up a bit more or what not.

But i will never really call mana stunning or anything of the like because honestly his beauty stops there. His lack of enotion in his pics makes him unnatractive to me. Doll like when doll like is the worng move is what id label it.

Actually a friend of mine just randomly introduced me to Malice Mizer by showing me a picture of Mana-Sama, saying: "Thats Mana.. Its a guy^^" and i was like weee! Then he showed me some songs like "Barouqe" .For some reason it totaly turned my life! Since I was a little child, people mocked me and called me a girl since I looked very femenine.. After seeing Mana-Sama I realized that that beeing femenine was nothing to be ashamed of and that I should just keep on praising the female-beauty that some men posess^^

I heard that the tour was cancelled (at least, I didn't hear anything official but I mean rumour), but I was under the impression it was a mix-up at Batsu... and there was all sorts of **** going on with the admin on that forum -_- and then the advert for the tour was taken down, but then another advert was put back up (and also advert like on the previous page in here), so I thought that the tour was on. :?

I haven't checked out their OHP though (since I'm not in America so won't be able to go to see them anyway, there is little point T_T), like Dutch Baka I would think the OHP is the best place to check to see what's going on. If I am buying tickets for a show, I don't believe it's real until it's on the OHP. :p

If it was cancelled and you bought tickets already, I think it's a pretty well dead cert that you'll get a refund, otherwise they'd have people suing them left right and centre!

There is no link, but apparently the fanclub members all got a message. I don't see it as being "false" because I've heard of multiple people receiving the same e-mail. I think it's screwed up that bastu just took down the banner and haven't said anything regarding it, yet. I mean, they could have at least sent a, 'hold on for our official comment', or, 'we're working things out', or just a flat out apology saying that things just didn't work out, anything but just taking the banner down and just pretending like nothing has happened.

Not to mention it says it's been canceled on nofuture.biz, which is run by the same guy (is it not?):
