Thank you for the pictures! I agree that Mana looks good in the first and third pictures. I think that style really suits him! :cool: Me too I don't like the blonde hair... I think it might be that shade of blonde... I doubt if anyone could look good in that hair colour. :sick: (and he has boobs on the first blonde pic! :D ) But he looks very classy in the slightly less feminine look.

It seems likely that Seth is Seiji from Brain Hacker, but it hasn't been confirmed at all - for now, it is still a rumour. :relief: (I think it is likely because to me they look alike... that is my only reasoning. ^^) It's funny - if it is true - how Seiji ends up in MdM and Kazune ends up in a band with Kozi! :p I'm sad about Brain Hacker not being in existence, because I thought they really had something original, but in view of that I have hopes for Death Attack Chainsaw - Brain Hacker X Kozi is a combination I can more easily envisage than Brain Hacker X MdM! :mad:

I always hear people calling Juka a "Gackt/Klaha hybrid" well it is indeed true that Juka does sound like a more angier Gackt, but he sounds nothing like Klaha. Seth sounds like Juka thus he sounds simalar to Gackt, but Seth dose give off a more Klahaish vibe than Juka, I think.
I also hear people saying that Moi Dix Mois is just a "branch off of Malice Mizer", in a way that is true since the lead singers of Moi Dix Mois sound kinda like Gackt but otherwise that is a completly false statement. The Malice Mizer sound is in my opinion like beautiful sorrow darkness. The Moi Dix Mois sound however is more like beautiful angry darkness. The guitars are more hard rock in Moi Dix Mois than they were in Malice Mizer and the visal-kei style is different. In Malice Mizer the visal-kei style had no limits. One second the Malice Mizer band members were butterflys the next vampires. In Moi Dix Mois however the band members tend to stick to one main type visal-kei style. This is really how I see it so don't get mad at me if you think different, angry replies annoy me and make me sad:( inside, so try avoid negitivity if your nice.

but there is a little something extra about seth. At the show in berlin he did great on Forbidden! I was like totaly struck by his vocals and his appearance!

Myself, I prefer the style of Malice Mizer before Moi Dix Mois. Malice Mizer was much more different and much more theatre that what Moi Dix Mois can ever be(please dont kill me^^;;)
The live shows of Malice Mizer was preformed too well and soo massive.. I wish Moi Dix Mois could pull off something like that one day. Id love to see that..

And I love the way MM went from being vampires to butterflies to deamons and creatures to pirates and back to vampires again..and so on^^

I agree. I love both bands terribly but I think Mana's true genius was in Malice Mizer. Or, actually, it was the genius of all the band members combined that made them so great...
I think MM was the top of the hill for Mana, the point where it became literally IMPOSSIBLE to go higher. So, while M10M is good, it can't be what MM was, even if they used theatrics. I'd rather they not use theatrics actually, because it would fall short and look like Mana's just being desperate to grasp the kind of fame he once had...it would be sad and fans would pity him.

Let me guess why you like Moi Dix Mois before Seth better. It's because Kazuno is gone now. I miss Kazuno too; he was a really good bassist and he had really nice hair.
But, honestly, I like Moi Dix Mois more now because of their new vocalist Seth. Even though I love Juka's voice, I think Seth has more control over his vocals. That's just my opinion.
Of course, many of us have shed tears:( over the parting of the ex-band members. *runs off in a corner and cries JUKA! KAZUNO! WHY!!!!*
I have. I hope there will no more bandmember departings in the future.

I mean, the man has his own clothing line for goodness sakes, and was one of the pioneers of the "gothic lolita revoltion" in Japan. Of course there was GL before him and others who pioneered in the look, but he was and still is very influential in the look, the art form, and he is the creator of the ELEGANT gothic lolita.

well.. she just got into him unnfortunatly! so I told her to listnen to the music atleast, but did not tell her names of the bands.. want her to struggle atleast abit to prove herself a little worthy.... but personally I am just one of those who is like "she is not worthy" kind of person^^;; I just hate it when all the townies get into my kind of thing.

I'm very interested to hear that Mana doesn't know music theory or chord progressions, because MdM's songs always struck me as tightly composed and quite 'theoretical' songs to listen to! (Well, I am completely wrong!) However, I kinda understand that slant on it, because sometimes theory can feel a bit limiting, not in itself but in its effect in the mind... and sometimes when I'm trying to write stuff I prefer to follow a twist, led by my own guitar, rather that make a construction. (I think I'm not using words very well... forgive my bad language skills. :sorry: )

I like the sound of the more clean guitar in Perish! :haihai: And I was surprised that the interviewer wasn't aware of the big difference between using a drum machine and real drummer! :souka:

Wow, that's so great! Finally they're starting to go international :) There does seem to be a sizeable fanbase for gothic lolita in France, and Germany. It seems to be alot bigger than in the U.S.

There's going to be a Dir En Grey concert in Minnesota (where I live)...it really makes me wonder how many people that live here have even heard of them?! I mean, I'm sure there are a few, but, there's no j-rock scene here. There's no gothic scene here!!! There's no industrial scene here...a little off topic, but I love industrial! The only "scene" we have that's anything related, is the punk scene. Everybody else is few and far between...oh well. Anyway, sorry for going off on a tangent.

@Anousenka: Well, for example, in my country, Argentina, I thought that there were just a few people that listened to Jrock. I mean, I didn't know anyone, and nobody that I knew knew that there were more. But then a Visual Kei event was organized and there was A LOT of people, that I didn't know where they came from. So I think that the same can happen in Minnesota. Here, a lot of gothic people have heard about Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois. And about Dir en grey too, especially people that like Korn and those kind of bands...
