Need help identifyinf a TV series [Archive]

Many years ago we were addicted to a TV drama in which a samurai (may be the name is Au Skinoske Sama or smth like that) was sent to an island prison where nobody could escape. But he managed to escape and he started to kill everyone involved in this trap he falled. He was leaving a flower everytime he killed one of his enemies. At the end of one episode his enemy broke his sword and that was all we talked about till we have seen the next episode next week. the name of the series was Revenge of the Samurai in Turkish. anyone remembers this tv drama?

hmm i dunno what that show was called but it sounds similar to the book "the count of monte cristo"
