i wonderd if you all heard of duel jewel,
it's a indie band that kinda makes a rock/pop
mix music. i got too know them a few months ago
and i started too like them.
since i can't explain things that properly

Dual Jewel is:
Hayato (Vo) - writes some lyrics
Shun (G) - writes most of the lyrics and music
Yuya (G) - i love Yuya!!
Natsuki (B) - haha, natsuki's a dork!! :D
Val (D) - he has REALLY hairy legs...o_O

Natsuki is actually a mor recent addition. in the beginning (when they were all SUPER indies looking with the pastey-white makeup and black makeup and pleather) there was Ka non, who was the bassist. he left, for whatever reason (I say it was because he wasn't as attractive as the other four, but that's just me...:relief:), and Natsuki joined. no one seems to miss Ka non all that much, and Natsuki's cool, if a bit of a dork, so it was all for the better.

Dual Jewel is still Indies, so they're pretty hard to find. more recently, they performed live at A-Kon (WHY!? WHY DOES NO ONE EVER COME TO MY STATE!! MY STATE IS MORE HEAVILY POPULATED THAN TEXAS!! COME VISIT MEEEEEE!!).

Dual Jewel is actually a formation of Shun and (i think) Yuya's high school bands. Natsuki was an add-in, like i said before.

if anybpdy is interested i have an old (from the Ka non days old) Dual Jewel CD (Lapidary), so if you would like to listen to them, pm me!! there are 11 tracks, and i enjoy all of them, so if you like a band that's SUPER indies, i suggest giving them a try!

and if anyone has some more recent songs or pictures, please let me know!! i will trade you for them!!

hmm...like...indies...(haha, i am crap at discribing things...) hayato has a pretty funny voice..:lol: it's not bad...it's just...kinda high...when compared to guys like Kyo or Miyavi...although, i don't think it's any higher than Gackts...or maybe just a little...
i don't have any of their recent stuff. i only have their first album. but if you go to their official site (dueljewel.net, i believe) you can listen to one of the newer songs. i haven't listened to it yet, so i don't know how it goes, but i love their old stuff. :-)

I would describe Hayatos voice as really deep actually, but I guess it's just different intrepetations of the word...

sp1 and sp2 are only instrumental, but i really enjoy them. i think they sound really cool. Anmaku and Nauthiz are both good, but they are very similar, so i used to have trouble telling them apart. :relief: still, they are good and i enjoy both. RED BEASTwo korose!! is a darker, louder song. i love it because Hayato's english is pretty bad, and it's so cute when he says "shoot at beast!!" :cute: i really love Hayato! also, the guitar in RED BEAST is great, i think. i like how it opens, and it just goes to show how great my oniisan (Shun-chan) really is at writing. :smug: Chinmoku is more mellow, but not slow. i love this song because i love Hayato-kun's voice. :cute: *obsesses over Hayato a bit* he really does have a beautiful voice. :blush: Kizuna~pray to gray~ is one of my favorite songs. i love the way it starts. i also love it (again) because of Hayato's voice. the chorus is very beautiful. this song makes me very calm and happy. Promise is slower (not much, though), and very beautiful. Hayato's voice is deeper in this one in a lot of parts. again, i really love the choruses in songs, and this is another chorus i think is very melodic and beautiful. Hayato is so cute when he sings high! :blush: Etsu is a really cool, darker song. i like it a lot. and again, i love the chorus. i think it's cool how Hayato is singing in both speakers at different times, i love how he switches back and forth. Towa ni yume wo kasanete is another great song. it's faster than the others, and i think Val-san does a great job with the drums in this one. again, i love the chorus...heh heh...this song is dark, but fun. Tsuki to tawamure is my favorite song on this album. it is slow and very haunting, and Hayato sings it beautifully. i usually wake up to this song in the morning because it is very calming. :blush: it's a flowy sort of song, and very pretty. i am glad it is long, because i love it. :blush: Hayato-kun sounds very sincere when he sings it.

i hope you guys enjoy Lapidary! i hope that someday Duel Jewel can become more popular, because i want people to be able to enjoy them.

The music is pretty good, and the vocals sound somewhat like Gara from Merry but not as raspy. It always seems like the vocals ruin it for a lot of Jrock bands (at least for me) so it was nice to find another band that I enjoy listening too! Plus it was nice they had an album and song called Noah, cause that's my favorite cats name hahaha! Erica has a few of their songs on her computer, so she can upload some for you I'm sure. Upload Paranoid Trash Erica! that song makes me rock out! whooo! They are supposed to be really cool guys, and they play the US a lot and can speak english, which makes things so much better! I am hoping they will tour the US in the summer. We will have to wait and see.

Hmmm, thanks for the music. The only music I've heard from them was a live performance video that a girl gave me a long time ago (sorry, I don't have it anymore). It was really good too, but I forgot all about it. The girl LOVES Duel Jewel though, she follows them around the country whenever they tour here (remind you of someone, lol). I wouldn't be surprised if they came back to the US sometime this year since they're having that release coming out soon. *goes to listen to songs*

Hayato has a lovely voice. Vocals are the main thing that ruin most bands for me, especially among Jrock. I was so glad that his voice matched his face haha. Then I was worried the music wouldn't be any good, but it is as well. I'm wondering what the new album will sound like, one of the songs off of it is so darn catchy.

I just wish I heard them sooner, so I could have caught them the million times they came to the States lol. I'm sure they'll be back, though! From what I've seen and heard they seem like really fun and friendly guys. Instead of the hundred times I voted for MUCC on the Jhouserock poll I should have been voting for them j/k haha. You guys should read this girl's report of one of the conventions they played at. It's really cute and has lots of pictures. A: At first it was different and kind of difficult, but I've adjusted by now.

A: Mana from Malice Mizer, Kyo from Dir en Grey... We recognized most of what we saw.

Q: What did you do in your spare time here?
A: We didn’t really have any spare time. (At this time, around 5, Duel Jewel had not even had lunch T_T)

A: Yes (It sounds like they plan on coming back again)

Q: (Asked in Japanese and then English; one person before this tried to ask in Japanese and they were not understood; but this question the band seemed to understand, although the translator still translated the English to Japanese for them just in case.) How old were the band members when they got interested in music?
A: (By Shun) I can't really say what age because I've been intersted in music for all of my life.

They have the most amazing guitar solos and some really fun bass lines and keyboard parts. Hayato's voice is really quite lovely. Perhaps I should include a lighter "ballad" type song. My tastes lean towards heavier music, but I know a lot of people might prefer something softer.

I am glad to see more DJ fans!!! The more the merrier. I am almost positive they are coming to the US this year too. Hopefully I will have more info on that soon. They are just so dang good, some of their songs blow me away. I am almost jealous in a way because I wish I was in a band like that. Some of their guitar riffs (thanks to Shun!) make me rock out air guitar hahaha I only do air guitar to really awesome songs, and usually I only do it to work on my own stage presence haha If I was in DJ I already have my whole stage presence down haha Shun also inspires me to get my butt moving and start writing more material.

I am checking my count on iTunes right now to see how many times I have played Tales (I also have it on cd, and its on the dewel jewel myspace page, so the count wont be accurate haha) OK in the past 3 days I have played Tales and Never Blue 10 times, and I listened to it on my CD player as well so that is a lot! My top two played songs are Toguro and Bite to All by Gazette because I was learning them on guitar and bass so I listened to them all the time haha.

No, it hasn't been uploaded yet. I just uploaded samples from each of their releases. There is a site where you can download them all, but I worry that people won't purchase their CDs. I don't understand that, because the music on CDs is so much better quality, and you're supporting the band! I only recently heard DJ's music, and I downloaded all of it to listen to it, but now I am going to purchase all of their stuff!

I'll definitely say it's worth it getting Visions. The song samples I've heard are so great.
I'll have to wait a bit though, just spent enough money. But I agree, real cds are much cooler.
I find myself hardly ever listen to my burned cds anymore.
But it's not nessescary to get EVERYTHING though.
Downloading is great for checking out a band, and for those bands that you only like a few songs by.

Whew... I just woke up a few seconds ago. My head feels so incredibly heavy. I fainted... this time it's Duel Jewel's fault... HAHA. Not really... only a little. I was looking at DJ pictures when it happened. Yea... drastic drops in the barometric pressure trigger it and severe weather changes. Or for me atleast. To be honest I don't know how long I'm out when I pass out. Usually people who have been around when it happens say it's only 15 minutes or so. I feel really groggy after I've fainted... drained of energy and yes I usually nap... haha. When I have bad symptoms I can sleep like 14 or 16 hours straight. It wasn't so bad this time. My head just feels like lead and my hearing is muffled kind of like how you hear underwater. Oh yes... it has to do with the special cycle. 1-3 days before and the first 2 days while I'm on my period. I can drink an ocean and I swear I just piss it all out... I can't retain any water during that time. I don't know why. I just feel my worst... it's like everything I have at once. I just want to stay in bed those days cause I can barely stand up.

these are the ones... it was Hayato that did it too... I went back and looked at his picture again and that's the last thing I remember... hot bastard... haha

Flow, reminds me of a metalish band! i love it so much.
Akaneiro No Machi is a very beautiful ballad too!! Mxxder Marble is just so... awesome!! the heaviness of it blows me away.

So... I have great news!
They will be releasing a single and... DVD on June 11!!! :yeahh:

Sorry for the delay, I should write it earlier ^^' The problem is that the official site is still not finished and they didn't update news x.x;

The single title is アイオライ and the DVD is Jewely Box. It will contain clips and something from Shibuya O-EAST (from last year, I think).

I'm so happy and I can't wait for pre-order! ^o^

Hi, I just found this thread on google... I love DuelJewel, but most of my friends don't listen to them...
