J Dilla/Jay Dee passed away February 10th, 2006 after battling an incurable blood disease and complications from lupus for 3 years. He was one of the more gifted producers of urban music in recent history, and his impact on the hip hop genre over his 32 years have touched artists like Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Common, Busta Rhymes, Madlib, and perhaps most notably, Slum Village. He will be remembered for his art and his determination.
For any hip hop fans in the United States that haven't heard of J Dilla, here's his discography. (http://www.stonesthrow.com/jdilla/discography.html)
