You all know that Gackt is a good looking dude.

but then i saw that........Was he really that ugly back then? Could that be fake or something ? I wonder where he got his plastic surgery if that is really him or MAYBE, that he just matured into the present beautiful face. .........Do you guys know anything about this ?

Actually, I think he looked better BEFORE, now he looks like a plastic surgeons model. Now he looks like he's made of cosmetics !

He probabbly did get plastic surgery...or it's possible that he just got all this celeb treatment, b/c a lot of stars in japan change drastically after they become celebrities.

uhm.. If I look at the 'new'' gackt and think about how cute he looked during high school I'd bet he'll become the new Michael Jackson ..... But after all i'm not even sure whether he did use plastic surgery or not.. I think he just lose weight... Let's hope so... Michael Jackson doesn't look good now >_>

i don't think he'll become the next michael jackson. i'm sure he had his lips done. i'm not sure about the nose, though.
but i think most of the changes are natural. he lost weight and puts some(or a lot) make-up on and has grown older. of course the face changes then :-)

Gackt was better to me back then...I think that HYDE was sexyier back before he became famous...and Hilary Duff was cute (in a straight way!) before her face went all anorexic on her. People do change when they become famous...I dunno why, but I like most of them before they go all famous and change...

I don't think he had plastic surgery on his lips, nose... I just think he had his eyes widened. I compared that picture of when he was in high school to the Diabolos posters I have on my wall [So they are pretty recent], and it seems that is the only thing that really changed. I have also noticed thoughout the years his weight has went up and down... At one point he was way to skinny, but recenly he has put on more weight and looks healthier.

It seems that the URL given showing Gackt's younger look on Youtube leads to a removed video. :( Could it be requested to be reposted?? Because I really want to see how he looks when he was younger... He shouldn't look too bad, since he's so good looking now...
I doubt it. If you noticed this thread is over a year old since it was last posted in, plus the OP lasted logged in on April 13th. I also have a feeling that there is a simlar thread about Gackt and his plastic surgery elsewhere.

Why does no one consider that Gackt may have just been on diets and taken better care of his skin since he has become more well known? Why is it that we have to automatically suspect every single person who has beauty as being fake? If you ask me I don't think the high school picture and the pictures of him now look that much different; just he now wears makeup, styles his hair, etc.
Also, I would REALLY like to know the source or link to the interview, or evidence (comparing pictures DOESN'T count) that confirmed Gackt DID have plastic surgery. Because everyone and their grandmother seems to speak of it as if it is fact and I just want to know where these facts are coming from, thanks, that's all.

here's my take on it.
1. It may well be true that Gackt may have gone under the knife.
2. So what if he did it's his perrogative and his body. I could care less. Is he attractive, yes. Is it natural. who knows . I think not personally but after all he's an ENTERTAINER!! As one who looks at things and situations as they really are and not fueled by emotion. I find it puzzling that there is a lack of common sense on both sides of the spectrum. from the fans in denial to the haters who live to hate and feel that by hating they are more superior than their target. different views, same idiocy.

I agree with narutomustgo. Nobody really cares if he has gone under the knife. If he was really that self-conscious about his body and having some surgery made him feel better about himself, then fair play to him. The thing that people don't understand about singers like him is that it doesn't matter what he looks like, what his opinions on life are and what goes on in his private life. He's a singer... concentrate on his voice.
It was the same with Michael Jackson (who I only bring up because somebody else did). Some of his surgery you can understand, for example, his hair caught on fire during a Pepsi commercial and he needed re-constructive surgery on his face. And all the surgery he had on his nose came from a childhood of his emotionally abusive father insulting him for it. He was self-conscious and needed it altering to change his image of himself and gain acceptance in his fathers eyes.
The fact is, Gackt may have had some personal reasons for his surgery and I don't think people should hold that against him. It doesn't stop his songs from being any better / worse because of it.

Actually, Ridicule, make up can do a lot of wonders depending on the purpose. Although its true that some fans tend to escalate their idols to pedestals, its also true that haters tend to fabricate lies about said idols. Its a two edged sword, really. So, to be realistic, your arguments are of no standing. No one knows that Gackt has surgery except for those present. Unless you have solid proof, we can neither prove that he has or has surgery.

You say that you're being realistic, but honestly all I see is some bitter hater fighting with some head-over-heels (But reasonable) fan. Celebrities are usually undergoing surgery whatever reasons but that doesn't mean that all of them do. People change, and I have heard many cases of such occurrences. If you're going to rebuttal someone's opinions/arguments-- please, at least, have some references for such things. Also, I don't think insulting, threatening and all of that is necessary in debating-- and not just debating, you're doing threatening/insulting a person over one of the most trivial subjects in the world.

Furthermore, Gackt is a vocalist/singer. He isn't some 100% model-dude. He is a vocalist/singer first and foremost. It isn't a crime to do surgery, for some people who aren't celebrities-- they do it all the time and we don't find ourselves talking about them do we? Celebrities/Idols/whatever are humans too. Not Gods that are flawless and can't make mistakes. So, they change their features-- don't normal people do so as well? Don't overreact over the most banal subject. Seriously, talk about immature.

I still don't see why it matters, but if people are going to insist upon arguing about this, I might as well help it along.
The fact is... he has changed a lot. If you look at him in Malice Mizer and him now, you can see the differences, and no amount of non-prosthetic make-up can do that.
And I know... the image of him now is probably airbrushed in some way, but they don't change the shape of their faces in airbrushing. Look at live videos, interviews, movies and music videos and you'll see the same thing.
