View Full Version : Moving back to Tokyo
I thought I'd mention it because I'm pretty excited, that I have decided to move back to Tokyo later on this year. I'm either going to do a PhD there or enrol in a language school and finally get out of this JPLT 3 plateau. It's taken me almost three years to get it together and make the decision, but its a relief, ha!

Wow, all the best for your studies!
Sounds like fun!
I know what you mean about the language plateau, im having one of them myself at the moment, but all that will change shortly too.
Happy moving!

Congratulations Index!!
I know the feeling of a struggle, I'm sure your language skill will increase tremendously in Japan.
I hope you enjoy living in Tokyo and tell us about it!
Thanks for the kind words guys. I was in Tokyo earlier this year for work and I was reminded of how much I liked the lifestyle there and how I miss all my good friends there, so I figured what the heck...

Now that you mention it.....I thought it was odd that I had to manually remove the image tag from a reply I made to him earlier. Thanks

lol speaking of a little topic change, so there's like no way an unqualified or reasonably lowly qualified (pre university) can go and work over there?

Even if there were, I would very strongly advise against it.

They say big cities can be the loneliest, but I think it's easy to find friends in Tokyo, perhaps not deep relationships, but people are pretty friendly there, especially Japanese girls.
Thanks for the wishes fellas.

Good luck in your move Index and I wish you all the best. Your language ability will improve at a much faster pace.
I just returned a few days ago and it is still a great place to be for me and it will be no problem for me to live there again when I return permanently.
Stay on the boards and let us know how things are going for you.
Thank you Pachipro, I'll still be around. I'm heading over to Tokyo in three days for two weeks, then I have to head back to Australia for a little while but I expect to be back in Japan by around late June. I'm feeling a bit anxious moving back-I left in pretty unpleasant circumstances in 2003 after my motorbike accident-I'm not sure what it will be like the second time around. The challenge will definitely be to get the language down asap so I can get back to doing what I want professionally, rather than having to rely on English based jobs.
