Who is your favorite anime/manga character and why?

My favorite so far has to be Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. He is just the epitome of cool for me. :cool:

I also have a thing for Ekicihi Onizuka from GTO. Bad and cool all at once. Gotta love that! ;)

It's called "ユニコ" in Japanese.. "Unico" in English.

My favorite is Kenshin. He is tough and has a human side as well. I love the duality of his character, at one moment he is jokin and laughin, the next he is beating the s**t outta someone. He has a kind side yet at a slpit second he turns wild.

WEll I''ve said this before and I'll say this again, my fave is Saitoh Hajime, from Rurouni Kenshin (my avatar is of him). He still stands as one of the only real people that has been represented in anime.That and the fact he baddd azz, can beat Kenshin, but deep down inside is working for good.

My female choice is completely off in another tangent... Kazuko Mizuho from Onegai! sensei. Maybe its the quirky sense of frailty she and the way she could fall in love with a geeky character that reeled me in. ( and the drool factor.) Im waiting for Onegai twins to come out.

I have many favorite characters.

The first anime character that I like (and still do...to an extent) is Tsukino Usagi from Sailor Moon. Her cool, fun, yet melancholy and reflective demeanor, as well as her apopearance and her reputation as being a warrior, a princess, queen, wife, mother...all that, and more. Not only that, she got me interested into the world of anime. It snowballed from there.

Today, I'm head over heels for Kotobuki Ran from Super GALS!. Ran-sama (who I like to call her now-well, actually OBLIGATED to call her) is one fun gal, with the looks, the appetite, the tendency to kick butt every time something goes wrong...Ran-sama is one character you just want to be with. It's like...BOOM BABY! Yeah.

Jessie from Team Rocket-ok, ha ha she's my idol. I went as her to BAAF and anime next 3 times! It's so funny when she gets pissed off or dramatic. She's really not sucha *****, but just insecure, and wants to win. I got an attitude like hers sometimes, plus I think she inspired me to wear short skirts lolz once I wanted to get my hair dyed fushia just like hers. Crazy cool hair too! I got Rachel Lillis' autograph irl yay me! :victory: James rocks too, he's so silly, Team Rocket's rockin! :clap:

Rei-(This is where my screenname comes from) I don't know much about Evangelion, but Rei's personality at times matches mine, sometimes what she goes through, I go through it too. I've had my Rei-stage She's a sweet girl, but it looks like, she just wants to find her place in the world.

Gotta love those bratty little chibis too..goten and little trunks they're so adorable!

So many others like Bulma, Kenshin, Miss Megumi, Inuyasha @_@ but I'm worn out I'm not gonna make a novel here....:p

I have too many that I really like, and I can't say that the one I choose here is my favorite, for I could never rank my anime characters, I like them all equally in same way or another, so here are the two that I do like...

For male, I would have to say Arima from Kare Kano, he's intellegent, hardworking, and devoted(to Yukino), this to me is something that I myself as a guy should use as a role model, simply put that Arima would be somebody that every guy should try to be. Well, not his mental complex part, but he is a good guy, and that is what inspires me about him, thanks to him, I gave myself a kick in the butt this semester in class, and I've seen much improvement, again, thanks Arima.

For female...hmm...as of right now, all I can think about is Belldandy, some people may ask why, all I say is, a girl like that will always be faithful and devoted to you, and you only. Also, she carries this sort of elegance to her, with maturity as well, always so devoted, heart warming, and postive, she is truly perfection at it's best. She would be a girl that I would love to date, and someone that I would love to have as a wife. Although my favorite goddess is Urd, I would take Belldandy because of her personality.

He痴 a fun character, and he痴 hysterical�I have yet to see another get drunk and make buns on their head out of sake cups, and 澱reasts!�

More of his loving qualities would be he痴 very mercurial, loyal, he壇 do anything for a friend, and he tries to be cheerful in the face of everything, just to make everyone else feel better�but when he cries the world moves :(

My favourite anime/manga characters are difficult to choose from, but I will go with the following:
Naussica from the manga and the anime - She is a such strong character in both media.
Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, the film and the SAC - Again a female character in a strong lead. She isn't just sexy, but doesn't suffer from some of the angst most other female characters seem to have in other animes. Mind you the males can be just as bad. The prime example being Shinji from Evangelion:okashii: .
Spike from Cowboy Bebop - As others have said, he is such a cool character. Again in both media

My gosh! That's a tough one since I've seen so many series in my time. Well, let me give this a try:

Male: Alucard (Hellsing)
I love vampire anime and probably have every series, OVA and movie about bloodsuckers in my library, and Alucard is far and away the biggest, the baddest, the nastiest and the meanest of the bunch, whether he's whacking other vamps with those insanely huge handguns of his or making fun of his undead flunky Seras Victoria (a.k.a. "Police Girl"). Alucard is death on wheels, and mondo cool! And while most folks here despise English dubbing, Crispin Freeman who voices Alucard provides just the right sort of menace and creepiness that's perfect for the man in red!

Female: Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell)
This was even tougher since a good 90 percent of my anime collection features female protagonists, featuring everything from superheroines, witches, spellcasters, mecha pilots, cops, space pirates, android maids, you name it, but the Major stands head and shoulders over the rest. Besides being a no-nonsense, badass cyborg, she takes no prisoners and does whatever she has to do to get the job done. Unlike most anime heroines, there's no angst or wimpiness when it comes to the Major, she'll just barge in and kick ***, no questions asked! And she's a babe to boot!

I'll give two answers.

The chara I love the most is Quatre Winner (Gundam Wing) because when you have read/watch all the books and episodes, you can clearly admit he's constantly evolving. He's more complex than just "the cute little blondie" (even if I also like it haha).

The best chara I ever saw/read is Nanjo Koji (Zetsuai/Bronze/Cathexis). He's a complex chara too but we don't know if he's bad or good, if he's worth our symptahy or our pity. His tormented (twisted haha) mind, his physical strenght and the following scene show his fragility, his desperate need. Plus it's rumored he was inspired by Atsushi Sakurai, BUCK-TICK's singer which is simply the best japanese band in activity. :-)

My favorite at the moment is probably Clare from Claymore, she's not dumb, nor is she a genius, not someone boastful, nor someone shy, she doesn't cut through foes (strong ones) like a hot knife through snow but she definitely isn't weak. I mean Alucard is a great character, thats true, he's damn stylish, he's a beast when it comes to fighting and survival, but that makes the entire anime a demonstration of how strong he is. while Claymore is all about the hardships Clare has to endure. Thats why i vote for her, although she's not my favorire character, she is one of my favorites, but since Claymore is an ongoing anime she's the protagonist who's in my head most of the time.

So far its Vash the Stampede. That guy is just awesome, funny, cool, great with a gun and yet he's a pacifist! It may be pretty common in anime to just 'kill' with a weapon, but I think it takes real skill to stop someone with a gun without killing them. Vash is the man!

I would say Boo from Dragon Ball Z because he's so powerful. Sangohan, Sangoku and Vegeta tried without success to kill him. He was able to destroy Earth and probably the entire galaxy.

Rurouni Kenshin for me, no doubt.

I can't help but admire the fact that he's followed an oath to not kill when he's intent on stopping villians who are extremely evil and who put him at the risk of dying by fighting him themselves. Plus, there's something happy but sad about Kenshin all at the same time. His history with Tomoe Yukishiro and everything was really deep. I also he think he has one heck of a strong will to stand by his promise to never kill again. Plus... no duh... he's awesome with his Hiten Mitsurugi style technique xD haha
