Hi everyone,

I went on rakuten and ordered some items from Soukai Drug and 2 of the items were Barley Young Leaves powder and Kale Powder. I have been trying to dribk this stuff but it's so awful. I thought this stuff would taste like the Japanese Green Tea powder "Matcha" Are you supposed to drink this with water only or mix it with other stuff. The Kale is hard to drink but the Young Barley leaves is even harder. It tastes and smells like the swamp. Is Blue Juice a popular thing in Japan? I have searched for it in the local japanese grocery stores but I cant seem to find it. I have read that this stuff is very good for you. I am not sure what to do with it now because I cant get over the taste and smell. I tried to ease the smell and taste by holding my nose while drinking it but i still gag from it. It's easier to eat Natto LOL:blush: Here is a link to the item in case there are some that don't know what im talking about

Zannen-deshita!

Those are not tea but are taken as nutritional supplements by those who are into anti-aging and physical fitness (dont have the exact nutritional data right now). They're not going to kill you...

Can I just say that I found this craze to be a bit nuts in Japan... everyone is drinking it, and the fact that it tastes utterly horrible comes as no shock whatsoever... I think they prefer it to taste horrible actually, as I've had quite a few very healthy 'green' drinks Naked Juice (http://www.nakedjuice.com/)... which managed to be both healthy, AND good tasting.

I do think they prefer it to taste awful, or else, how would you know it's working?

There are a lot of allegedly "healthy" drinks that are good-tasting. The juice you show is good-tasting because it contains fruit juices, which adds sugar to it as compromise between "health value" and "palatable taste."

Young barley and kale are regarded "miracle greens." People believe it is best when not made tasty by mixing with fruit juices. (Not completely sure, but I think the inventor recommends it should be taken in "untainted" form.)

Disclaimer: I don't take it. I'd love to be healthy but would like to put off taking it as long as I can... :hihi:
