I was just wondering about this, so what better place to ask than like-minded TV addicts. Can I easily get American cable channels like HBO and Showtime and CNN without Japanese voice dubs and what does such a service cost? Does Japan use digital cable, satellite or both? What is the japanese movie channel selection like? In America we have about 3 major movie channel providers that run movies all day. Also does Japan provide high-definition television subscription services and what are the prices like for something like this?

Thanks.

I know here in Hawaii there is a local channel KIKU, that shows japanese dramas every night. (kikutv.com) They also supply most if not all the subtitles for all japanese shows shown in the states.
We also have on digital cable NGN (Nippon Golden Network?) 3 channels showing programming straight from Japan.
I don't know about anything else though...
