yoisho interjection?

I say this all of the time when bending over to pick something up, out of habit really, though I learned it a bit differently, as more like, n~sho to..., though I'm not exactly sure this is right.

Is anyone familiar with this common interjection & maybe it's variants, like nsho, unsho, oisho) said when lifting something, or when you have to pick up something heavy?

I can't help laughing when I imagine a non-Japanese person saying those words.

As for me, I say よっこらしょっと, よっこいしょ, or んんしょ depending on the mood. Wow am I really 22?

Yes, yukio_michael, you know it well. I haven't heard anything other than those that the two of you mentioned, and I use おいしょッ　(oisho') the most. The よっからしょ　(yokkarasho) style sounds cute to me, and I imagine some action which the user is showing to be not such a hard thing anyway--maybe humorus--but that'S just how I take it, that's all.

I usually hear people saying よいしょ or ゆうしょ. I find it rather annoying hearing people say this every time they sit down in their chair. I prefer not to make an announcement to the world every time I pick up a 20 pound box.

Aaah well, at least I'm not alone... I don't anounce it to the world, sort of to myself, just like あれ？when I forget something... it's more to myself, and I think it conditions me to make my Japanese sound more natural. :)
