I've seen this tv series back in the 80's back home in Poland. The sequence starts with an old lady that is rich and in charge of large textile/sewing company. She returns to her old city and starts remembering her youth. The movie goes way back to her childhood, her parents sold her to another family, she was mistreated all the time, starved. As time goes on somebody introduces her to sewing, she picks it up, eventually works in factory, and at last she opens her store then company.
I'll always remember little girl working hard for a tiny bowl of rice and constant mistreatment. I think the name of the series is her name.
