Recently a couple japanese friends of mine told me about the blood-type personality theory. I was really shocked when I heard this, because I never even thought people with a certain blood-type have a different personality. But when I compared this theory to my friends' blood type (by just thinking about my friends' personality), I would say I guessed my friends' bloodtype correctly 8 times out of 10.

Blood-typing personality is pretty common in East Asia from what I searched, and I am kind of convinced this theory is mostly true.

There are some bad things that come from this theory like there are some prejudices against a certain blood-type. For example, my friend said that her company would not hire "blood type A", and were mostly consisted of blood-type B, and vice versa for some other companies.

I just wanted to know what everybody thought about this, cause it was very interesting for me. And also if you have some stories about blood-type personality or more information, it would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a website for basic description of blood-type personality http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_blood_type_theory_of_personality

My blood type is O, but the Japanese description of Type O does not describe me at all, the Type A traits explain my personality much better. :souka:

Too bad, I usually go for this kind of stuff. I always tell people I was born in the Year of the Rabbit (since the attributes of the rabbit are me to a T), and show interest in other's zodiac animals.

I hope I'm not judged by my blood type too often.

There's a thread that went on and on about blood-type stereotypes:

A quick description of personality based on blood type:

Personally, I don't believe in personality based on blood type, because I've seen many people who do not fit in these descriptions. However, my family and I fit the descriptions very well...

Also I'd make a terrible gambler...

This is an issue I found quite strange when I first heard about it.

I saw a japanese photobook and it listed the blood type of each of the models, along with their statistics.

My friend in Japan said I was probably 'O' type. A bit of a worrier with lots of attention to detail, but I think I am reliable. I've not taken 1 day sick since I've had this job, and I don't let my friends down.
Not sure I 100% believe in it all, but who knows...

Just going by personality traits, I could be two of them.

yes, I don't think blood-type personalities are always true. I think that your culture and environment can also affect your personality as well as other factors.

How do I find out what blood type I am?

You'll probably either have to check with your doctor (if it's on record there) or just get blood drawn to find out. I would assume that it would be in your medical history, though, so you probably wouldn't have to get blood drawn just for that.
