No, they're pretty famous... just not on an AKFG level yet, and they really haven't been promoted to the Western J-Pop/anime audience as much. I didn't even realize they had an anime tie-in song...

I only know them for their punk/ska cover of the great '80s song "Okuru kotoba" (originally by Kaientai), which is quite awesome...

If you're bringing up Gackt anime connections, don't forget that both Lu:na and Oasis were used as themes for the new Hokuto no Ken OVAs... so he has multiple anime credits.

Of course, the other thing to remember is that Tofu Records has been responsible for some of the BIG acts showing up at cons like Otakon (TM Revolution and L'arc~en~ciel)... and Tofu is the US arm of Sony. So unless Gackt is on the Sony label, the chances of him coming to a con is much less. There's a higher chance of seeing some of the current big Sony acts, like AKFG or Orange Range...

Yes, but it's less of a hassle to buy them at a nearby music store. Also, it gets Ajikan more publicity and more open to the general, non-Japanese public. I also want tehir CDs to be released in teh US so then there's a greater chance of other Ajikan products being realeased as well (i.e. Masafumi Posters :love: )

Buying things online even is expensive, but Dir en grey CDs, in Edmonton at least, are like $50 at A&B Sound! Iprefer ordering online, at least their like... 15-20 bucks cheaper... but it's still outrageous, to me anyways...

got all the albums lying around. They are pretty good, but I do prefer alot of other bands. My favourite song would probably be Siren.

The reason that I like this band is that they combine soft rock with pop which is nice every now and then. Also the vocals is good, but not as good as The Back Horn (to name another band in almost the same genre)

yay AFKG not a lot of ppl listen to them I think but I have a lot of their songs anyway. I like them very much. A friend of mine looks like Masafumi (vocals) when he straightens his hair. They do a lot of anime themes so those are the easiest ones to find.
