questions about hot springs....

are there alot of private hot springs in Japan? like a hot spring for a couple?

No there are not a lot, but some. . . perhaps few would be a better word?

Usually they appear, as far as I know, to be with some hot spring hotel or inn, and according to ads I've seen (I live in Nagano, and it's fairly well known for its hot springs) rather steep in price.

There are a few, almost always the outdoor baths, which are unisex--that is both sexes can use them, but they are not private. . . you can't really get it all to yourself, with absolute assurance that no one else will join you for a bath.

Some areas of Japan may have more private ones than here in Nagano, though, let's wait for some other replies.
