Well I discussed it with a former big fan of Malice Mizer and he did some research with me...
There was a movie called "Beast of Blood" That involves a monster that gets washed up onto shore and a scientist keeps it alive with a serum or something like that... Just makes me wanna watch a trailer of it but there's -none- If anyone could find one let me know~

It makes me sad to think that the ONLY reason one might choose to watch that particular movie was because people in a NOW DEFUNCT band happened to enjoy it.
Cut the apron strings, kids. It doesn't really matter what your favourite bands like...

Actully it does matter people are influenced by diffrent things by diffrent people that is how people grow and discover
And the fact that Malice Mizer have split makes no diffrence either look at the people who still obsess over the Beatles,Elvis Presley and many Composers who have long since parted or parted ways with this world
There is nobody in the world not a musician not a doctor not an artist nobody who can say they weren't infulenced by an indivdual
Also the Shining is a rather lack luster movie to the beuty of Malice Mizer Panda Doom you might actully be better served to see Bara no Konrai and Verte Aile films the group actully stared in
And don't forget oftain the only reason people choose to see movies is becouse of a certain actor or actress or becouse of the film being based on a certain book or play or becouse of an intrest in a certain genre so what is the diffrence ?

Ah.. now I get it.
I've never seen the shining... and had no idea Beast of Blood was composed with it in mind. Interesting, even tho I don't care what they liked... ... ..
But it doesn't matter. We are influenced by people who are influenced by others. Is like a family tree. Wouldn't you like to know your roots?

Actully it does matter people are influenced by diffrent things by diffrent people that is how people grow and discover
And the fact that Malice Mizer have split makes no diffrence either look at the people who still obsess over the Beatles,Elvis Presley and many Composers who have long since parted or parted ways with this world. Please don't compare The Beatles & Elivs Presley with the likes of people who mostly air-guitar & formulate a manufactured image of their band in order to attract the attention of 13 year old Japanese girls.... Those are two diffrent animals all together.
And YES it does matter. It seems somtimes that the entirety of the JROCK community, and I loathe that term can not seem to think in any sort of autonymous manner... Zomg! That Kawaii Super Dolfie looks like blah de blah... Now ZOMGLIEKIMUSTHAVEONE!!!!!!!11~!
Everyone follows exactly what everyone else is doing... Instead of Chuck Berry & Booker T & The MGs influencing Elvis Costello... It's Malice Mizer inspiring Gazette, or Antique Cafe, or some other equally non-sensical French sounding JROCK band that no-one outside of the JROCK community has ever heard of.
You may think that this is an entirely meaningful wide-reaching and important movement in music, but it's only because you surround yourself with other people who repeat the same assertations.
Honestly I don't care what people listen to, but the fan(girl)isms, the fact that you simply HAVE to do something or other simply because a band you like happened to enjoy it shows a destinct lack of personality--- You should think for yourselves rather than follow someone elses' lead.
Believe it or not, the Punk Rock movement was largely the same way, as was the Hippie movement--- All of it centered around being free, or being unique, or being apart of the mainstream--- But all it ever did was create a mass of sheep who simply fell right into line with whatever attitude, music, or ideals were expected of them.
This is all part & parcel in growing up--- Realising that the music you listen to does not largely govern, nor save your life--- I'm not writing this because I think you personally are a bad person, or that I want to insult you, I'm writing this because I am discussing my feelings on the actions resulting from zealotry.
Also the Shining is a rather lack luster movie to the beuty of Malice Mizer Panda Doom you might actully be better served to see Bara no Konrai and Verte Aile films the group actully stared in...If you are saying that the videos that feature Malice Mizer are better than the work of director Stanley Kubrick, it may have been futile to even argued about this in the first place.
sou ka... sou ka...

Actully if you have ever listern to Malice Mizer most of there music was Classical based
there all multible instrument playing musicians never aimed themselves at teenage girls and happened to consist of two opera trained singers and one hell of a talented composer
And yes the beuty of the Gothic settings and noir classic of Malice Mizer movies beat some guy going nuts and trying to kill his family any day
And Gazette and An cafe are totally diffrent types of musicians to Malice Mizer
If you think that i only like JRock music becouse i sorund myself with people who by the way i consider my friends who like it then i'm afraid you are mistaken
I discovered JRock on my own when there was nobody around to influence me
From the lyrics that can be read like poetry some of which even tell storys to the music that cheers me up to the music that inspires me becouse of its deepness
Don't dismiss modern Japanese musicans as eye candy or its fans as brainless twits who only like the music becouse they swoon over the musicans
You think that we follow like sheep but your wrong the people and music that touches our lives is what builds us what makes us grow without these we discover nothing if we never learn from others then what do we know but our own ego
I never follow the line i never copy i'm an artist and a poet i know how important it is to be unique to think way outside the box
Don't think that the music people listern to now is not going to influince there life or there goals becouse it does and it has helped people get over truama, deaths
These musicians are no diffrent from Beethoven or Botteclli there work should not be dismissed becouse people think there just there to look at
Even if some bands are just goodlooking boys they bring happiness to people and in this world that should count for something
I don't take your comments as an insult nor do i mean mine with any disrospect or insult but these are also my feelings
I very much respect your opinion and your feelings
Also some of us are not kids both Kinsao and myself are in our twenties but we respect these musicians for there talent and for what they bring to peoples lives wheather it be lasting or fleeting
Also i have a low opinion of horror movies that show no artistic merit yet many people enjoy them
Also i ment know disrespect to Stanley Kubrick he is a great director just as i said the Shining to me was nothing more than a slasher movie
Sorry its just my opinion ^^
nor do i view any JRock as uniquie becouse like everybody they where influinced by something ^^

Yukio-michael, your post turned out sounding mean.
Not every band is manufactured, specially not this one, no one's comparing it to Mr. Presleyand I have no idea what "zealotry" means (seriously. English is not my mother tongue).
Is true I've never watched that movie, and I don't think I'll ever will, but I have very contrary comments about it. I'm not supporting the idea of MM being better than this movie, director or else, but is every personal opinion.
As Miki, I got into j-rock on my own and so far, I have only three people besides me, who aren't even my friends, who like it too. Just keep in mind the J is only to define the origin, and it's the same as if we're talking about some lame band like My chemical romance... don't take it personal.
I don't think J-rock is a movement, it doesn't preach anything, is only music for the masses who want to listen to it. And you can't enclose all of the J-rock into something as superficial as their looks, which by the way, are part only of one style called Visual-kei (and I believe the name says more than I can explain). they're artist, that's what they do.
If you don't agree with the 13 y.o. fans, so what? You simply don't join, but don't call them a pack of sheeps cos we're not... And if that girls up there wanted to see that movie for the reasons she wrote, so what? Maybe she WAS a 13 y.o. fan and you know teenagers.
You can proclaim the lack of knowledge people has about this music, but is the same if you go to Asia and ask about Panic! at the disco.. they don't know them.
Yes, we're consumist, but you don't have to be mean to make clear how againt it you are. If artist want to show off what they were inspired or influenced by, let them be. If fans want to know more about their artist beyond the make up and silly costumes, let them be. For you it can be a lack of personality, for others, it could be the way to find their own self. For strange and stupid itmight sound.
