Hi to all,
I have passed the preliminary selection for monbukagakusho (research student for 18 months) and luckly received the letter of acceptance from waseda university (my first choice).
Up to this point I was over the clouds, until I found out that waseda starts in September. According to waseda, I must be in japan in September (not october), first 6 months will be the japanese courses, then the research study.
Since it is written in scholarship documents, that you must be in Japan between 1-7 October, will it affect the Mext's decision while they consider my placement to the university and my chances of getting the scholarship?
Are there anyone that experienced the same situation before?
Hopelessly waiting for an answer. Thanks in advance

Alas, I know little if anything about the monbukagakusho, but if you end up going to Waseda, you'll probably run into me in a month or so. Good luck with the scholarship, I got passed over for all the scholarships I applied for, or made an "alternate," which is even more obnoxious because it's like saying "sure you're qualified, but you're still not going to get anything."

Sorry for the rant, let us know where you end up going.

Sorry to hear that nice gaijin. Then you must be a self-financed student, which is impossible for me (I mostly rely on scholarships).
By the way, I will be notified by the embassy in december and later in february for the final decision of mext. Then I will let you know. Hope to see you in waseda
