I love Miyavi! I'm not sure which could be my favorite song of his, but Fuminshou no Nemurihime is VERY good! ^^
I also like... Jibun Kakumai -2003- and POP is dead, but all of his songs are awesome so you can't really choose one song... I find that the same way with a lot of bands. It's just much too difficult to choose ONE song... But yes, Miyavi ish good

I'd only heard three of his songs before - Girls, be ambitious; Ashita tenki ni nare*; Tome to juri. I knew he was awesome guitar player cos I like DLQ and his playing there... but I couldn't hear it so well on those three songs and, I didn't really like his voice. But I like this album - I can hear more of guitar stuff and I think the vocal is playful and funny!

In that clip of him playing acoustic (I think it's called Cut, or something, he plays a black guitar, you know the one? It's cool!) I think he's playing with open tuning... I was watching a second time and I had my guitar and was sort of messing about, and suddenly the penny dropped...

I've now been inspired to draw Miyavi, manga style! Wahay! (but I never drew this style before, so... :worried:)

I actually did a pen drawing of Myv that I liked, and I'm using the same drawing to kind of... work with... if you get my meaning...

Oh, open tuning - it's when you tune your guitar so that it sounds a chord with open strings (i.e. not fretted at all, you just strum the open strings and it's tuned to a chord). It's a different technique of playing... I've never used it much cos it's a pain having to keep detuning and retuning my guitar, lol. That's the kind of tuning that's used for bottleneck playing (cos of course you can't fret chords when you're using a bottleneck!).

About 2500 US dollar I should think *gets confused while converting money* , and thats not air tickets included. Also... I live at friends house here, so no hotel expense. That leaves the shopping and the eating expenses, and concerts or other joyous events. (I guess you could get it cheaper, but I plan to buy hella lot of stuff while Im here, so... yeah.. )

Hey, let's talk Miyavizm - anyone has his new album. What do people think about it? I personally LOVE LOVE it, he's soo great, and most songs are catchy and really good rock, whuch I love a lot. Let's discuss! *waits for people to react*

Also, heh, eh, heh, today, in Harajuku, I walk around randomly, and go into this small jrock clothing store, and... the walls are hella covered with pics of jrockers who has BEEN in THE STORE. The lady working there is all like "yeah, they shop here" I stay for a million hours just checking the photos out; all jrockers, diru, rentrer en soi, hyde, MIYAVI - all posing in the store with the lady shop owner - they're all looking casual too and really awesome (but still pretty) it was soo amazing! *is about as rushed up over this as someone else would be if they actually MET the jrockers in person* And also, I bought the same shirt as Myv has, the sort of cardigan one with black and blue/purpleish stripes, it's soo pretty *proud* there are pics of his wearing that shirt here on this thread *tries to find them but can't* Anyways, I'm soo happy, I'll wear it all the time and pretend it's THE actual shirt Myv wore, only... Hey, let's talk Miyavizm - anyone has his new album. What do people think about it? I personally LOVE LOVE it, he's soo great, and most songs are catchy and really good rock, whuch I love a lot. Let's discuss! *waits for people to react*

Also, heh, eh, heh, today, in Harajuku, I walk around randomly, and go into this small jrock clothing store, and... the walls are hella covered with pics of jrockers who has BEEN in THE STORE. The lady working there is all like "yeah, they shop here" I stay for a million hours just checking the photos out; all jrockers, diru, rentrer en soi, hyde, MIYAVI - all posing in the store with the lady shop owner - they're all looking casual too and really awesome (but still pretty) it was soo amazing! *is about as rushed up over this as someone else would be if they actually MET the jrockers in person* And also, I bought the same shirt as Myv has, the sort of cardigan one with black and blue/purpleish stripes, it's soo pretty *proud* there are pics of his wearing that shirt here on this thread *tries to find them but can't* Anyways, I'm soo happy, I'll wear it all the time and pretend it's THE actual shirt Myv wore, only... But I have to say, Miyavizm suprized me. I thought.. or I guess I didn't wanna expect too much out of him - as not to get dissapointed.
I'd want to describe his new songs as "sexy" - it's sort of "hot rock".. or maybe that's just me finding Myv-samas voice too incredibly hot, don't know. But the whole album is really sort of Miyavi - it's got attitude and a certain amount of conceitedness. When you listen to it, you sort of h e a r that Myv-sama is loving his own music and finding himself great. Or something. But in a good way that is. In a very good way.

(actually it was because the engineer in charge of ALL of Myv's shows couldn't make it for some unknown reason...so if his engineer couldn't go, then he'd have no show, so they cancelled. i got it from the convention website for the con i was going to. they posted the official letter. i was so sad...:()

POP is dead was my first Myv song! i suggest that, Ashita Tenki ni Naare or Ashita Genki ni Naare (both are great), Coo Quack Cluck, or Jibun Kakumei 2003 (i love that one...:cute:)

Form is precisely emptiness and emptiness precisely form.
So also are sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness.
Sariputra, this voidness of all dharmas
is not born, not destroyed,
not impure, not pure, does not increase or decrease.
In voidness there is no form,
and no sensation, perception, volition or consciousness;
no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind;
no sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, thought;
there is no realm of the eye
all the way up to no realm of mental cognition.
There is no ignorance and there is no ending of ignorance
through to no aging and death and no ending of aging and death.
There is no suffering, no cause of suffering,
no cessation of suffering, and no path.
There is no wisdom or any attainment.
With nothing to attain, Bodhisattvas relying on Prajnaparamita
have no obstructions in their minds.
Having no obstructions, there is no fear
and departing far from confusion and imaginings,
they reach Ultimate Nirvana.
All past, present and future Buddhas,
relying on Prajnaparamita, attain Anuttara-Samyak-Sambodhi.
Therefore, know that Prajnaparamita
is the great mantra of power,
the great mantra of wisdom, the supreme mantra,
the unequalled mantra,
which is able to remove all sufferings.
It is real and not false.
Therefore recite the mantra of Prajnaparamita:

Yeah.. there's something special about lives... it's this feeling you get; by just watching the musicians doing their stuff.. and the music gets you going, and the people around you. It's really great. I've always liked live gigs better than anything else... people like going to disco or whatever stupid thing they do, but WHY!? I ask.. when you could much rather go to a live? Lives are the best thing ever. It's both emotional AND fun.

Bands that aren't good live are no bands. It's when you see a band/person live you really know wether that person/band loves what he/she/they're doing. If they DO love it... then it's amazing.

If you get a Photobucket account, you can post images OK. (Just visit their website.) When you've uploaded an image to your Photobucket account, underneath the thumbnail it gives you the codes. For jref you use the image code (the one with square brackets), you just copy it from Photobucket and paste it straight into your post and the image will appear in your post (it doesn't show on the preview btw).

I'm not sure about siggys but I think you can just select image in the same way as for avatar - but they need to be under a certain size.... I was too lazy to find out for myself yet!

i hate to say it, but most of the Jrock fanbase seems to be led by the delusin that they're all just hott single guys and there's the chance a fan will end up with one of them... i find that... their completel beauty is a huge distraction from the fact that they're all amazing musicians...

for example, in the lives that i've seen.... there's been no clapping or raw of applause... there's only been a hidiously large amout of fan girls screaming the band mambers names at every chance they think they might be heared
(except for the live audio i have of Art of Life... the chears in that made me happy, but there were still a lot of fangirl screams....)

i don't know... when i first started looking for Jrock.. i was getting tired of the music over here... i mean, i was hardly listening to anything that anyone else had heard of anyway... i just wanted some new sounds...
i the thought to look into the musicians themselves never evencrossed my mind... but then i started to really spacifically get interested in the sound of the music, and i wanted to know what inspired them... so i looked into and was blown away by the hottness of them :relief:

but.. my first Kagrra, live... - you would expect in the wester cultur for there to be an up raw as soon as they start that riff for Hikkai Yakki... or as soon as Isshi gets his fan out for Kotodama.... but there was nothing....

You're right; the jrockers are probably supposed to seem like they're 'avaliable' all the time. I really like the way you compared it with Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt; they're both extremely popular for the way they look - and still, they date women openly without neither them nor their girlfriends risking to be lynched and killed by millions of rabid fangirls.

Liking Jrock always brings up this discussion; I have gotten comments once or twice like 'you probably never even listen to their music!' or 'you're only obsessed with their looks!'. Well, I'd be lying BIG TIME if I said 'Heck! Looks? Whaddya mean 'looks'!?' - off course I think the jrockers are hot. They are! ... but liking them just because of that would be not only pathetic, but also VERY BORING. I mean, it's the music that's keeping me from falling asleep during math lesson, the music that helps me tune out my damn parents shouting, the music that makes me dance and roll around on the floor for eight hours straight. :relief:

I love the music. And.. lord knows.. there are MANY Jrock bands I don't wanna listen to; even though they might be pretty like hell or HOT or whatever. If I don't like the music, I don't pay attention to the band.

It's really sad that there are soo many (way too many) fangirls out there who are just trying to claw/scream their way to possible future marriage with one of the poor guys. First of all: They RUIN the music, both by screaming, but also by turning the jrock phenomena into some sort of fangirl industry with no soul. Second of all: They suck. :happy:

Then, the reason we (or at least I) rant so much about how damn hot they are - is because it's a lot of fun looking at all those photos, it's fun to share, and it's fun to comment. We comment their music - why shouldn't we get to comment their looks? Trying to be opposite of a fangirl - by stupidly ignoring that the jrockers look good - I'd see as equally as idiotic as being just a rabid fangirl. After all, the jrock artists really DO try their best to look good, and VK is a lot about dressing up - it's part of the music (or that's what I feel). We can love BOTH the music and the pretty. Ne?

but i also had a really wide range (i mean, i listened to S club for banana's sake)... so i was open to all the other music, and i fell inlove with Kagrra, because of their traditional syle merged with contemporary rock...

His voice.. it's amazing... he can.. sing! *duh* He rreally can, though. Many say he can't, that he can only sort of.. err.. talk/shout/sing as if he was a sandpaper (>_<) But no.. Miyavi can vary his voice a lot actually. Some songs are really rock - and he can scream like a madman, and get these strange little rasping (is there a word like 'rasping'?) noises. But then, his voice can be ultra sexy when he whispers and sings softly.. like in some of the aucoustic ones *dies* ... then his voice is really sort of.. soothing and sad and sexy at the same time. I like his voice a lot personally - it's special and it's really Miyavi. You can hear it's him. He's great at doing 'talk' in songs too... love his talk-voice... :love:

hmm, I don't think I was any of those really. I just downloaded 3 of his songs that I'd heard of (Girls, be ambitious, Ashita tenki ni naare, and tome to juri), and I didn't really like them much *ducks for cover again* but then I saw clip of him playing acoustic guitar and I also heard his playing as Miyabi with DLQ, and I thought "wow this guy can play guitar something hot - shame I can't hear too much of it on his solo stuff".

But then, like I say, I got hold of Miyavizm and liked it. :-)

I guess 3 songs isn't enough to base a judgement on... but if I don't like, I don't listen to more, so...

:souka: i started with Jibun Kakumei - 2003 - and i've liked everything he's come out with since then. :souka: Jibun Kakumei is very popish, i think his stuff like Galyuu and Miyavizm are actually more rock. maybe not as intense as Gariben Rock all the time, but he still has stuff that's close. but i would never refer to Jibun Kakumei as rock or indies. to me it is very much pop rock. i love it, don't get me wrong. i'm just saying his more recent stuff seems more intense to me, but then again i don't really think you can fit myv into one category, he's a bit all over the place, but that to me is why he's so fun. :-)
but then ah, well, i'm not too parshal, i'll listen to anything...:blush:

... I think it's not that bad; off course Miyavi is skinny - I can admit to that (aah what a perfect body) - but I never saw him as 'scary' skinny. He seems like the type that's just plain thin, and has always been, no need for dieting.

ONly once did I think Miyavi-sama looked a little too skinny, and that's in the making of the Pop is Dead PV (might be in the actual PV too) .. he wears these strange trousers and his legs look like...
