Well, Miyavi can't sing. *blocks ears. Though Sakito wasn't spectacular either, I still really like Due le Quartz's music. Miyabi on guitar and only on guitar suits me.

This is of course, my personal opinion.
sorry but I think he can sing...I mean he shows different genres in all his songs and experiments with his voice and if you close your eyes and listen, his voice is amazingly beautiful :p

Miyavi is a good artist. I like the fact that he is a one- man band, his guitar skills are very good, but Im sure he can do a lot better. I really like Cion Lockers baby song, and Id really like to see his live performance. I really like his scratchy voice, without it his songs wouldnt be anything special.

the 'Gakinchiyo' photobook is a 200 pages thick, hardcover, really really beautiful book! (well, off course it's beatiful, it's Miyavi-sama!) ... I was gonna buy it in Tokyo, but it was sold out. I nearly killed the shopclerk :evil:
I tell you, it's worth the money.. :love: Hpwever, I see Yesasia has made it a whole lot more expensive :shock: ... it's supposedly 3500 Yen, which is about 34-35 dollars...

However, I'd rather get my hands on his first photobook - ''Miyavi Hajime no Photo Essay Shu WAGAHAI''
I looked in it once and it's sooo interesting. 120 pages. it contains pics of Due le Quartz break up, and pics of Miyavi-sama's first love and friends... :love:

INteresting question, v.v.n. ! ... about the tattoos... I'm usually not into tattoos at ALL! I usually don't find tattoos nice or attractive. But on Miyavi - on his body - somehow, those tattoos are a part of his strange, insane, conceited self. I like them! However, I wouldn't h a t e him without them either, and sometimes, I wish his back was still... un-tattoed... he's got such lovely white skin, no need to cover it up with ink, right?

I love tatoos, I think they are sexy, I have one, on my back that drives the boys CRAZY. But only In MODERATION, I have ONE and only ONE. When I see people who are tatooed up I'm like please, do stop. Miyavi is the only person who I like who has an abundance of tatoo's. He and Kyo are the same thing with Piercings. I have never really liked piercings, there are only a few that I like and only on certain people, not everyone can pull of piercing well.

As far as Miyavi getting married, I would be INSANELY jealous, but I wouldn't go like all psycho crazy about It, because I do realize that being a performer is his JOB. But hey Its my job, It makes me money. And as a 19 year old college student who has a decent sized wallet thanks to my commision, from interrupting YOU during dinner. Yea, It is a real company. It's a cable company in the US.

Yea but Miyavi's tatoo's are done so tastefully. Some people have a ton and it looks horrible. But his are so nicely. I think it was in the placing of them, especially on his arms, its alot but it doesn't make his arms look cluttered, like so many others with mutiple arm tatoos.

Also I think a big factor, is that it is with black ink. The deep black ink on his smooth pale white skin...:bluush:

Miyavi get's a new tattoo for every new single or album he has released - every time he 'advances', so to speak, in his career. He has said that everytime he challenges himself, he gets a new tattoo, because that way his tattoos help him remember special moments in his life. Or so he's said... Apparently, miyavi’s new single Senor Senora has a touch of Hispanic flair.

Due for release on January 18th 2006 in three different versions: regular version (1260 \), version including DVD bonus (1575 \) and thirdly a version with a DVD bonus including a pair of castanets (2500 \).

Miyavi is absolutely amazing! When I first heard of him I thought he was just really arrogant, but now wouldnt have him any other way, its adorable!!

Off course I wouldn't know what he thinks, and I'm sure he doesn't hate Americans... However, there has been people guessing this by his attitued towards.. well, foreign countires (that's not taiwan and korea) Miyavi has had a very proud approach when it comes to being japanese, and has been sort of 'I-love-Japan-and-no-other-place!'.
Also, he's had two America-tours booked, but cancelled them...
However, I can't explain the American-flag-pants XDDDDDDD
I'm sure Miyavi would really enjoy touring europe OR America, and I'm also sure he loves his western fans. He's probably just been too busy. And he's got a huge fanbase in Asia to please... :relief:

I love them ALLL. I just can't pick just one. I mean I love Jibun Kakami 2003 (sorry if i mispelled) the part where he argues with himself is to cute. Shindemo Boogie Woogie, Miyavi+Stripper Pole= HOT. And Ashita ni naare is so cute.

I agree with lost to some extent. Sometimes he is just utterly hot and just so smexy. Other times he is just so cute you want to feed him candy (sugarless candy he is already on a 24hr sugar rush).

I think he's a very talented artist who know very strongly about his style and ways of expressing himself through his music, and because he knows his own style with confidence, that's what makes him hot and stand out from rest of some other artists who can only imitate/uncertain about their style..... am I even making sense to u guys?

*trying to catch up with the pace of this thread* :relief: ... Favourite PV? ... I'd have to say Ashita ni naare, it's just adorable, sexy, happy, beautiful all in one, both song and PV. I loved Miyavi's looks for that one too :love:

I'd have to agree with v.v.n. though - Miyavi seems to be very confident in himself (no ****, damn conceited.. :-) ) , and I think that's partly why he'll try out soo many different styles and looks - and manage too always look good/cool/(insert any other praise here) - because he likes himself!

I have seen few few few pics of Miyavi where he doesn't look wonderful (but that's just my oppinion), and I don't think there are hardly any styles I dislike (being very honest) - although I wasn't too hot about the whole Freedom Fighter thingy (talking about the song and stuff), but.. I still like that song.. and... *gets confused and starts crying*

o_o I had a dream that miyavi was a fat ewwy man.

I don't remember much about my dream. I remember that i was taken to a concert. I got pulled out of school on a rainy day by stacey and katie. It was very fun. The room was like a large auditorium. Zeni and taki were there, but they were down in another seat with a bunch of their guy friends, while the girls all chilled out. Miyavi started singing and i was all "OMG YOU TOOK ME TO A MIYAVI CONCERT" well i noticed after a while that he wasn't moving around stage much. he looked the same on camera. later i got to meet him and went up to him and he was HUGE. he like, weight 400 pounds and his neck was all puffy and he looked like a marshmallow man but talked just the same. his eyes were all baggy and he looked old and nasty and ewwy. He hit on me even. Well i was grossed out so i went into the restrooms, stacey REALLY had to pee. There was this odd shaped hallway barely narrow around the end of one of the stall things, which was in use, ewwy, and you go around it to what seams to be nothing, and in the side of the other stall wall is a door leading to a bathroom of its own, when really it looked like it should have opened onto the person that was in the stall already... so odd. well there was another door right next to it on the same stall wall, but i figured SURELY it would open onto that person going potty, so i went around to this corner thinking it might have a toilet in it. it didnt.... so i came back to that stall and it opened and no one was in it. It was ewwy and covered in dirt, like a dust storm had come by. the ground had tiles with the grate things covered in slimy mud, and the walls used to be white, but were now light brown with blotches. the stall doors creaked as you opened them. needless to say i didn't use it.

Before I open up this can of worms, I want to have it stated now that I am a Miyavi fan. The OreSaMa is currently my number 1, thus said lets rumble *itches. We need to liven up this thread.

My opinion of Miyavi is that he is ok. Despite the fact that he is my current favorite, he is just ok and here is why. Miyavi voice I absolutely love. But it is true that his voice is not the best, far from it. He isn't as smooth as Gackt or Hyde, and it isn't as powerful as Kyo's. And is not melodic like Isshi's is. (My 4 favorite vocalists). Yet it is a step up from Sakito's voice which to me was just plain annoying. And it does need work. But to all of the many who don't like Miyavi because of his voice, they are missing out, cause while its not the best, its unique and I like that.

His music is also very good, we all know that he is an EXCELLENT guitar player. He has showed it many many times before. BUT except for a few songs, in his music you really don't hear it. In my opinion, except for a few songs, his guitar playing is mediocre, and to a person who really is trying to get into Miyavi, and they hear how great of a guitar player he is, unless the listen to certain songs, or look at his live guitar performances (especially his acoustics) you wont hear it. And I am not the only person I know who thinks like this.

And as great as his music is it isn't great, and with his guitar playing if he just really took the time to compose, it could be Great. And while I love looking at new photos of Miyavi ( I can stare at his picture all day). It is in my greatest opinion, that if he spent as half as much time, as he does in front of the camera as he did with his music it would be alot better.

Which is a problem for my friend. He is one of the few rare guys who do like Miyavi, but he says that until my other friend and I forced it down his throat, he would have never given the guy a chance, because Miyavi JUST LOOKS LIKE THE TYPE OF ARTIST WHO IS ALL LOOKS. Now he likes Miyavi just as much as we do (he still doesn't like his image though). Then you do as with all J-Rock fans you have those who DO like him cause of his looks, and can't care about the music.

And then the oh so famous cancelings. I personally was pissed when he canceled otakon. I know that he has his reasons, (or ps company are just...*dont go there Nana*) but so for a j-rock star, it hurts his fanbase, especially for the ones who like just for looks. Even with BIG western music stars, when they cancel it pisses people off. So who is this japanese nobody to keep canceling. If he schedules and god forbid cancels again it will be hard for him to get sucess in the U.S. Cause promoters aren't going to want to deal with him, cause they will think that its a waste of money. Fans will be wary of buying tickets (although for the canceled shows the tickets hadn't gone on sale yet) cause they might think it is a waste of time. Although I will on first notice that he is doing a fan in the U.S have tickets, flights and hotel already booked.

Ok I just wanted to jump start this thread (cause it was kinda dying) with a bit of controversy. OK everyone flame me. And I will digilently fight back to protect my opinions.

Nana: I agree with you about a lot of what you said... I've probably said it before on this thread (might have been awhile ago, tho...), when I first listened to Miyavi's songs I didn't like them. I was thinking: 'is this what everyone was mad about?!?' But then I saw a clip of him playing the guitar, and I was ***serious respect!!!*** And I listened to his playing from Due'le Quartz and could really hear his skill. So I decided to give his music a little more time and I listened to Miyavizm, and I liked that album.

That was partly what put me off when I first heard him. BUT yes, his voice is definitely unique, and the fact is, it is good - in a certain way. In Miyavizm, and the latest single, it really worked, because he has the kind of voice that just suits that bluesy growl down to the ground. I think he is learning how to use his type of voice to the best advantage. :-)

Yep. It took me listening to a live acoustic performance to appreciate it. Then I was blown away. But I wish I could hear his skill more!

He undoubtedly has the excellent (x 1000!) guitar ability - but what he chooses to do with it is up to him and the direction he's going in.

About the 'image' I have nothing to say, as I don't take that into consideration. (yeah yeah, I know he's pretty, that's just a fact.)

So, no flames from me - you've hit on some good points. I still think Miyavi is talented and I really like his recent work!

You've got some good points there, Nana. :-)

You're right indeed to say MYV's voice is not the best. He surely doesn't have that smooth voice of Gackt or Hyde, nor the powerful one of Kyo. Infact, I'd go so far as to say - Miyavi's no singer at all! However, that doesn't stop him from using his voice in the most varied of ways and actually managing to do so very well (in my oppinion that is). Then again, whenever I listen to songs like 'Itoshi Hito' or 'Tome to Yuri' (first verse), I change my mind. Miyavi's voice IS more than a growl and a shriek (as some, but not you, have pointed out) - and Miyavi can actually sing beautifully - very soft and sexy even. What Miyavi doesn't do as a singer, is he doesn't sing in the 'traditional' nasal voice that a lot of jrockers use - I don't know if that's because MYV can't (that's probably why) or doesn't like that type of sound - but he doesn't sing that way.

As for his guitar skills - as said, they're excellent. And I agree that he should be showing those skills a little more frequently than he does. But to me, those 'hidden' skills are a comfort, something that makes me admire him even more - MYV does this and that, and a lot of the time you don't even notice how damn good he is at playing that guitar of his. BUT, then... at sometimes, like concerts, or in one of those rare songs, he just releases his skills and plays the guitar so that it could make you cry! Then it like it hits you how much hidden talent he's got (or.. er.. 'hidden' talent might not be the right word... I dunno ><) But off course, that's still no excuse to why he shouldn't be showing off those skills a little more...

What you said about MYV spending more time in front of the camera than with his guitar, composing - that hit me! You're right! *throws candy because you got a great point* But in some ways I don't agree with that; for, yes, MYV does spend a lot of time doing photoshoots, dressing up, being very 'visual', instead of caring about his music and being a musician. However, let's not forget that MYV and the whole 'MYV-concept' IS very much a style, and an image. I know I could get KILLED for saying this, *kills herself*, and please believe me, I'm not saying MYV's only good for dressing up, nonnonononononono, that's NOT what I mean. MYV's music is the most important, and that's what's amazing about him. But a musicians work is based upon him/herself, and often does the music 'mirror' the persons character. In MYV's case, it very much does (or I think so) - and MYV is a very very outgoing, 'visual' person. He is as much an 'actor' (and now I'm NOT talking about his acting skills in Oresama (>_<) ) and a 'clown' as he is a songwriter. If you watch MYV during live concerts, during interviews, during encounters with the fans, during photoshoots - you notice that he LOVES it. He's very social, and he does (LORD KNOW'S HE DOES!) know he's a beautiful person. That's why, I think, in MYV's case, it wouldn't be possible to be less 'outgoing' or whatever I should call it. I think MYV loves photoshoots perhaps just as much as anything else, save for his music (which he states he loves the most in the world). Since Miyavi started his solo career (sp?), it's been this 'image' - the beautiful guy who's always in the magazines, always doing this and that, always with a new style. And yah, MYV has a LOT of fans that are only liking him because of that, and not his music... That's quite sad, but I would blame MYV for that, I'd rather blame the fans for being ... shallow... And also, it's your own choice how you choose to love a person, right? (although nothing gets me more annoyed than fangirls who obsesses about an artist without even having heard more than one song... :okashii: )

However, IF Miyavi's constant being in front of the camera is actually stopping him from making more wonderful music, then we've got a problem... I'm not sure that's the case though... *worried*

As for the cancelings - there's no excuse (or, I'm sure there is, but I agree with you Nana) - they suck! MYV's already become notorious (sp?) for cancelling in America, and if you ask me, it's like he doesn't care, or at least cares less than he should... *throws a fish at him*. Although I don't live in America, and would therefore never be able to see him live there, I can still imagine just how dissappointing it would be. I would DIE if I was expecting to go to a MYV concert and then couldn't! Miyavi should know better than to cancel so easily, for he's done it more than one time...
Then again, MYV's becoming a really big, big star recently in Japan, and Asia, and he's got a lot to do. It must all be pretty exciting and busy for him. If I were him, I know I for one would not be thinking about .. say... Sweden, in first hand... Japanese stars have often been stars only in Japan, or in Asia, and it's not very common with japanese artists touring the western countries. (although, yes, other jrockers have done it) Who knows, the thought of holding a concert in front of a western audience might even scare MYV? ... :okashii: :D

His voice, is amazing. I think it is highly sexy. And I don't like nasal singers, can't stand them. Miyavi's voice does fit his image. I am just saying that you have a ton of people who say Miyavi is just looks, he is no talent. Now anyone who is a Miyavi fan does no that it's not true. I can see both points of view in fact. Having threads with lots of pictures makes them slow to load on some people's machines. I'm lucky enough not to have that problem but I can understand that some people have to wait ages for such pages to load, and it must be really annoying. I've heard people complaining in other parts of the forum about the vast numbers of pictures we post here, so it obviously affects them badly.

The Gallery is a neat place to put pictures.

But on the other hand, some of the thread titles carry warnings (e.g. 'Warning! Lots of pictures!' or 'Hot Kyo pics!') or have a title like 'prettiest J-rockers' from which you can deduce it will have lots of pictures in it. If not, perhaps an admin could place a modifier at the top of threads like this one, to warn people about the pictures maybe making their machine too slow. Because putting the pictures in the Gallery would be nice, but then you can't comment on them simultaneously. And contrary to popular belief, some kind of semi-intelligent conversation does occur in these threads! (Even - shock! horror! - occasionally pertaining to the music... lol) But seriously, sometimes people have a question like 'How do I make this costume?' or 'How to get this hair?' or even 'Which DVD was this screencap from?'... etc. etc... I think you get the picture. If pictures were 'siloed', so to speak, I think any 'meaningful' convo around them would die out completely.

Personally, I don't understand why it seems to be a problem for some people. If the pics f**k up their machine, why not just refrain from opening those threads? Or is that too obvious? I only say this because most of the comments I've seen about it come from people who never (or rarely) actually post here (they may well visit and lurk, though...). So I'm kinda curious about the reason the pics seem to bug people who have (it appears) no interest in them anyway.

Well, I am sure it is like that for any person in the public eye. I sure dont treat him like a "god" because he isn't. When it comes down to it he is just a normal person who happens to have been blessed with a lot of talents and great looks.

I have pleanty of friends who are what most people would call "famous" and that is how most celebrities feel. (except maybe the really cocky and lame ones) Why would someone want to be good friends with a person who just went on and on about how hot they were or acted so nervous and jumped up and down like a fool when they were around them. There is a difference between a fan, and a friend when you become famous. Then there is something in between when your friends are also a fan of you, but still treat you the same. Most celebrities would rather you talk to them like normal people, ask them how they are doing, and talk about everyday things rather then only talking about their band, or what movie they were in, or whatever it is they do.
Dont take this the wrong way, cause it isn't meant to put you down at all it is just my personal preferance. I am weird about stuff like that, I would rather keep it to myself then go on and telling the world that I know certain people who are famous. That is why most of my close friends never even find out who some of the people are that I know because I fear they would treat me different or try to use me for "hook ups"

If it really is Miyavi, then that is great! I would just be sceptical if it was the real him or not, since there are quite a few people on myspace pretending to be him.

And I am very very non-skeptical of him, purely because, I can't describe how, but everything he has shown me, from the personalized picture to the messages he sends, it just screams Miyavi to me. I actually didn't know who Miyavi was besides a little of how he looked, and then I met him and I remembered a little bit. It was really refreshing.

Yes, through MySpace. The chances are no different than if I actually knew the guy. I met him through a group, I can't tell which because it's sort of hated by most. I didn't think much of it.

I wasn't superstar famous or anything, just very well-known in my county for my sarcastic, humorous, and smart nature. Once people saw my grades and my hand always in the air, they respected me at once, all the way through Elementary School. I liked it, but it did get annoying. So it was nothing HUGE, but even at the level I was, it was a lot to deal with.

I feel you on that, I know if I was famous I would get tired of people prying into my life, and the fans sometimes. It must be pretty tiring. I know I am personally a REALLY private person and as much as it seems awesome to be famous and everybody dreams of being famous I know that I couldn't handle it at all, no matter the perks, that and the fact that I am camera shy and stage frightened.

In fact I went to school with Solange (Beyonce's sister for anyone who doesn't know) she is really cool and I have met her sister and the rest of the girls of DC. She said that it was kind of hard knowing who her real friends were, cause everyone wanted to know her for her sister. Like Alonely, I knew who her sister was (Who in the World doesn't know who Beyonce is her music has just Saturated the Pop scene) and I knew she had a sister, I didn't know who the hell her sister was.

I also know some lesser known celebrities, (mostly rappers) cause my dad has some dealings in the music business. For the most part though except for occasional meetings I don't talk to me, cause they are afraid of my dad lol there was one who liked me, but said he would never "go there with me cause your dad has a really big gun and knows some scary people" lol :p

Yea at first I thought he was mixed but there is always one freak in the litter look at Yao Ming (sp?) he is 7'6 and chinese and there is no way you can dispute that because he looks 100%.

As for his english I have seen some of his interviews and stuff the man comes off as having severe ADHD and if he is really that damn hyper and jumpy I think it would be extremely hard for him to learn another language especially english.

Yeah I am almost positive he is ADHD haha. Well a lot of people who are ADHD can learn things easily, it depends. My friend reminds me of Miyavi a lot, he is ADHD and dislexic. He moved to China and lived there for a few years and he speaks chinese so well you wouldn't even know he was american if you were on the phone with him. Also, musicians that play by ear, have an easier time learning other languages I have heard, that is another reason my friend learned chinese so fast, and so well. Miyavi is smart, he is just eccentric lol. Maybe he spends so much time on the internet he had to learn to read english well haha!

The one fansite is hilarious, they're pretending to be Miyavi, but in the pictures section there are 2 pictures of Aoi and one of Kaoru ...haha, they can't even tell Miyavi apart from the other two, that's hilarious to me. So anyways, I know which Miyavi alonely is takling to, but hmmm... Oh, and Miyavi is SO ADHD, but that's okay, I think that adds to him being a great musician.

Even if Miyavi is ADD or ADHD (which he probaly is) doesn't mean he can't learn anything. My Cousin is ADD ADHD and besides a few behavioral problems make Excellent grades and is on the honor roll.

I seriously doubt its that easy to get to Miyavi. I cant try it cause I'm at work and MySpace is filtered. But I doubt he would be that obvious if it was really him, I mean he would just get a TON of annoying spam. I already get a ton of spam on my myspace and I am not famous.

Yea I know you always have one in the bunch who is different. Some people might take this the wrong way, but my take on Yao Ming, is that he is just an exception, and that he is a giant. Most people who reach heights over 7 ft have some type of medical disorder that makes them that tall. And while yes Japanese people can read and write english better than most native speakers, there is still something in Miyavi that screams MIXED. It doesn't have to be American but its something. He is to tall, and some features just aren't very asian. And I know several people who are mixed asian and other race, and I can tell every single time I see them that they aren't pure, even before they tell me. Of course one I knew very easily considering that he is my cousin and I know his dad.

There's no way of knowing whether the real Miyavi is on MySpace or not, but I know the same day that the official Miyavi Music page on there was created, a Miyavi personal profile was created as well. It's possible that he would have one, since he goes on the Internet a lot (I read that he used to update the diary on his website as many as 7 times a day). The "Miyavi" I'm referring to is rarely on anymore and has an away message on (which makes sense since he was doing a lot of promotions for his single and is now on tour).

I think I find this topic far too amusing. Why is it that everyone thinks they know Miyavi well enough to say what he would or wouldn't do? None of us know him. I don't think you can type anything else on MySpace. I may be wrong, but every Japanese person on MySpace uses romanji in their profile (Don't be confused, I'm not trying to justify whether a real Miyavi on MySpace exists, I'm just making a point.) I do agree about the photos, though. That always irks me. Maybe we should just drop this MySpace debate. It's really pointless and not going anywhere. I don't know anything about MYV-sama other than what I've read/heard from interviews. I mostly enjoy watching his live videos, listening to his songs, looking at his pics. I think it's pretty safe to say none of us actually know Miyavi personally...

Besides; Alonely, what makes you think you know Miyavi-sama well enough to know that it's really him and it's really his personality...I didn't say it had anything to do with his personality, by the way. And, like I said, I couldn't care less if people believe me or not. It's on the Internet, so it's not like I've kissed him, only talked to.

I'd like to hear more oppinions on MYV's new song, Senor Senora Senorita? What do people think about it? I like it, it's catchy - very catchy. Almost a little too 'catchy-catchy' (try saying that, it's a dorky combination!) - but cute. However, Kekkonshiki no Uta is still better, one of my all time favourites!
