Well, Miyavi can't sing. *blocks ears. Though Sakito wasn't spectacular either, I still really like Due le Quartz's music. Miyabi on guitar and only on guitar suits me.

I like Myv...as a matter of fact I was listening to him this morning...O.O I like Miyabi too...and I think Miyabimaru is kyute too! His image is not all that different from when he was in Due.

However, while I did like him while he was in Due, I do not like him now. He has more of his own 'personality', and I don't like his personality. His voice is horrendous. His music isn't anything special, and I haven't remembered much of what it was like, other than that it was bad. Good vocals are something that's very important to me in music, and Miyavi just didn't fit the bill. The only thing good I can think of about him is his guitarwork, and he doesn't play that nearly enough. Well, that and his good looks, but he's also spoiled those by never taking a picture where he isn't making a ridiculous face.

actually, Miyavi used to be the guitarist of Due le quartz, so im positive that he CAN play the guitar. and Due le quartz is pretty popular so i would think that he IS a good guitarist

His diary is for the fans, so he writes about himself and about how he feels and a little what he does and stuff. It's also said, he replies fan-emailses through his diary... sort of hidden... ehrm...
When I wanted to read his newer writings, I used the babelfish-translation tool and my (not very advanced) skills in reading japanese, but the babelfish translationtool sucks pretty much so it doesn't work to well... :okashii:

sorry, guys, i know this thread is SUPER old, but i just have to set the record straight. you're right in that miyavi rarely touches a guitar in music videos, unless he's leaning on it or something. that's just the way his music videos are. for reference! i own the galyuu cd, and if you look in the lyric book, you know how it lists who wrote the words and music? if you read it, both say miyavi. that's it. no one else. he also plays the guitar parts on his cds.

as to the playback, that scene you mentioned is from the movie "o-re-sama" (translating to a very arrogant and stuck-up way of referreing to yourself...heehee, i love miyavi :D) which is a very low-budget film about...miyavi. (there is little to no storyline...it's mainly fan service. heehee) they aren't actually performing, they just recorded the song from the galyuu cd onto the audio track. (rediculous, i know) also, earlier in the movie, miyavi DOES play guitar (the guy he's kissing? he shows him how good he is at guitar.) and it's no double, it's him, playing VERY well.

music videos are never recordings of live performances. they are ALWAYS dubbed over with a part from a recording studio. why? because if they weren't, you'd have some pretty wack acoustics, and the video would suck. for reference! whatch Dir en grey's music video "-I'll-". you'll notice at one point that Kyo's (the lead singer) mouth closes (and twitches...it's so cute!) long before he's finished holding his note. also, daisuke-kun (die, the red-headed guitarist) is singing as well (you can see him mouth words) but you never actually hear him sing in the song...BECAUSE IT'S DUBBED! (GASP!)

so sorry this took so long, i just had to say that. i know what you mean, dollporn, i hate solo artists who have no talent and let other people work for them. so now you can like miyavi guilt free, he does everything himself!

*upset* No, no, no. Miyavis music isn't trash!!! Miyavi is really talented, he has a good voice, which he uses in soo many ways. He experiments a lot with his music and changes the style a lot - something I find really fun and interesting - he really tries all the different musicstyles. I even saw a concert with him where he sings it with a big classical band.(!?) He is also really really fun to watch whenever he preforms, cause he always dances and acts really crazy! Miyavis music is fun cause of its variation. + Miyavi is... pretty.

I doubt they'd ask anyone as big as Deg or Gackt to come, since just PLC was a huge amount of work to deal with, and they said they'd like someone who'll draw a crowd, but not TOO big of one (which Gackt and Deg certainly would).

And... Miyavis looks are really just perfect. Try to find ANY flaws on the man and...well.. you wont! I can really understand WHY he loves himself; he's gotten the perfect skinny body, perfect height (unusually tall for a japanese) and a very very feminine bishonen face. He's pure beauty. I can understand that if you don't like his personality though, you probably wont like the way he looks either.

I guess, what Miyavi's done, is he found a character that suited him, and found that it's working. He's got tons of fangirls loving his selfishness *don't look at me*, and I guess since he's noticing it's working, he's not gonna stop. All that fame also nurtures his ego...

As for his songs, I think they're fun. Miyavi changes a lot, and every new song he does has something new in it and a new style. The way he jumps from genre to genre makes it all very interesting.

I wouldn't mind having you hit Miyavi though - he could really need a good beating sometimes... XDDD :cool:

Yes... haha. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You think all those things make him more appealing but they bug the hell out of me.

He is talented in his own way. Just... I dunno. I get bored with him. Then you see the stupid faces he makes and dances or pvs and I'm no longer bored... I'm annoyed :D

To me he is not ideal in looks... he just doesn't fit my "type" ...I like cheekbones too much. tee-hee.

Yes, I like Freedom Fighters a lot! It's good song and catchy too (most of Myvs songs are!) I'm really liking how Miyavi changes styles a lot and experiments - not very conservative. *nods rappidly* the guy is competely unique... he would be the only jrocker i liked after i saw picks of him... but i think his music (if possible) is even hotter than he is. i mean, i think when people think of miyavi... they think of his image... and songs like pop is dead, shindemo boogie woogie, stuff like that... that's really quite heavy, my own personal taste... but they forget he's capable of really quite beautiful melodies and acoustick work... take his due' le quartz covers for example (tho, they're hardly covers, as he wrote them or at least partialy did *is unsure*) and i simply adore ashitenki ni naare... it's so beutiful... *melts* the live where he's harmonising with himself... it's just amazing... and you can tell he really loves his music, as well as the lifestyle.

Just because you might be more into Dir en Grey or Malice Mizer or whatever, doesn't give you the right to say Miyavi is crap compared to them. He obviously manages to be successful, even when competing with all the other jrockers out there; him being overrated probably has more to do with you not liking his 'I'm-a-total-god-and-I'm-in-love-with-myself-so-now-you-should-all-worship-me' attitude, which I can agree on is sort of... challenging in the annoying way? i've noticed that people who rather didn't like miyavi and couldn't stand his music (because of his lack of singing talent) really like his new album and i haven't heard anything negative about miyavism

he has a pretty broad range of styles and ablities shown in them... so to listen to just a few tracks is silly.... and.... yeah... i've kinda got loast :relief:

yeah... it;s really good... i haven't had a chance to listen to it yet... but his latest stuff has been a lot more preciated by other people, which is great.

there's a lot people who know only 2 songs i think they know everything about his music
my friend was that type of person but when she listened sth more she couldn't believe that these songs she liked was miyavi stuff

i mean... i'm sure i've done it a few times... heard a song and not liked it then just decided to not get more of their stuff.... but if someone then reccomends a song from the same people... i'm always willing to give it a try....
for example... i heard some L'arcu.... didn't really like it... had someone tell me i had to listen to this song... so i did
.... i.... didnt realy like it ^^; but.... still......

Umm... it's probably cause you have them saved in bitmap format... it automatically resizes bitmap files.

gagaku was really awsome, but at miyavism he has better vocal
and gagaku had some (i think two) songs where... he was singing like... some **** cat

maybe you should listen to miayvism again, i'm sure you'll find sth good in it :-)

i agree, sometimes you need time to get accustomed to new music style, i hope furan is patient enough - if yes i'm sure she'll like miyavism
i have to say that when i heard first song from miyavism... well .. i wasn't impressed, i even didn't like it but after some time i changed my mind and i have no reservations about it :-)

hmm... yeah. i get about the album thing... that's why i'm leaing it on my hard drvie for the time being, so i can keep it on my playlist.....
it's not that i dislike it.... just.... i remeber my reaction when i first heared coin rockers baby.... omigod.... i almost fainted, lol. it was so HOTT! lol, and the thought that he was singing it was even hotter.....
and... yeah, the vocles... i dunno.... i listen to a lot of screaming stuff anyways so....
ut i'm not giving up on it just yet ^.^

but..... holy mother of all things dead that is a HOTT picture of Miyabi..... daaaaaaaaaaaaaang.......
