Where should I live in Japan?

Hello, I am a new member of the forum and am in process of applying to teach English in Japan. I have to specify 3 places where I would be happy to live and I could use a little advise. I was thinking Fukuoka, Kobe and possibly Kanazawa. I young and love going out/ live music/film etc but also am keen to immerse myself in Japanese culture. I want to be near the beach too! Do people reckon Fukuoka or Kobe as first choice? And any other reccomendations of cool places to live. Pretty much told not to bother applying for Tokyo or Osaka...

I would go with Fukuoka. Fukuoka has really nice weather most of the year and Has beach in Fukuoka City. Also a very active night life.
