The topic says it all! Just say where you were coming from and what you did :-)

lol I
1) slept
2) stood for a majority of the flight (I have long legs, so it really hurts to be sardined in)
3) Talked to a guy from Tailand who was promoting his music in Japan
4) Talked with the Japanese stewardess
5) Met some kids from LA who were going on a school trip to Jp
6)Took pictures of friends
7) The best part, I arrived!

Accidentally spoke Japanese to someone out of force of habit who were themselves, not Japanese.

Hm. I usually read a book! And order free beer as I fly JAL mouhaha. And sometimes chat with the stewardesses.

At one time they were handing out these immigration cards, you know, the ones on which you have to write your name and length of stay, purpose of visit etc.. So I say to the lady 「俺にも一個ちょうだい」 (gimme one too), then the stewardess smiled at me said 「はい、一枚ね」 (here's one card) obviously emphasizing my mistake!! :relief: Although I like it when people correct me when I'm wrong, I didn't expect to be corrected that bluntly.. :(

Not necessarily in this order:

Eat
Sleep
Take walks around the cabin (to stretch out and prevent blood clots)
Watch a movie
Read a book/magazine
Drink

first.. i was trying to relax...
trying to figure out remote control for tv and radio - watched tv - listened music
been nervous
got food - tried to realise how to eat soup with chopsticks - watched Japanese guy near me eating - eat
slept
watched ''hitchhikers guide to the galaxy''
slept
eat again
listened music

it was 12 hours long flight Vienna - Tokyo

when i was flying back, i spend most of my time sleeping, and listening music..

One of my friends went to the cockpit, watched the view from there, and talked to the pilots when she was coming to the US in 1998, but I'm sure that kind of act is out of the question now.

On the last flight from Japan, I found some empty seats in the back, so my husband and I just went over there and slept.

Yep, times have really changed, and not for the better.

I've done that also (gone up to the cockpit) to watch the view. It was on a chartered DC-8 (stretched) from Kansas City, MO to Los Angeles back in 1976. You definitely get a better feel for speed up there.

I used to watch films, eat, read, and sleep.
Last Friday I took a flight which lasted 12 hours, and I slept, and slept, and slept, only woke up when they offered the meals, and slept.
(I stayed up more than 24 hours on the previous day, so maybe it explains. :p )

I spoke Japanese to a Japanese person for the first time, only 「すみません」 to get some おばさん to move out of the aisle so I could get past, but still... a small victory to me! :p
Watched some movies, I think one of the Harry Potter ones was on. To shy to talk to the Japanese person next to me.
And kept wondering what I am doing alone on a flight to a country I hardly know who speak a language I hardly know. And hoping that Yamasa (the school I attended) would remember about me coming that day to pick me up :-p
