View Full Version : If I'm allowed to ask ... about banning

To the person who banned CC1-san

Could you please kindly explain me the reason you banned him? Although he had already said he would leave the forum, you still thought you should ban him ... What is the reason? You didn't want him to post the "one post" he said he would send here when he would have finished his website? If so, why? You thought it would be a spam?

By the way, does anyone know the URL of the forum he mentioned in his last post?

CC1-san said
Luckily my favorite forum about Japan has recently opened back up and I am no longer needed here!
Thank you very much in advance.

I do know the forum he is talking about, Kyoko, but will pm it to you later.

Not up to date on all the going on here, but CC1 doesn't seem the kind of guy who is ban worthy. I'l also interested in that other forum.

It's just a guess but this may only be a temporary ban until the situation is relatively back to normal. He's been banned once in the past very briefly anyway. I may be wrong, but I very seriously doubt this is forever.

Plus, if members want to leave they should.... go....without making a huge wave about it. imo.

Hmmm the arguing has been getting very out of Hand to the point it has made the forum quite

Maybe things will calm down now and get back to normal now i hope

I hope so too, but certain people just need to GROW UP, and think about the forum instead of their ego. :okashii:

There will be calm with more and more previously active members losing interest each time one of these things happens. Nothing will change for the admins, on the other hand, as long as the site is financially healthy....:(

miki78

But the site wont be financially healthy if everybody leaves

I'v heard a lot of people who where not involved in the arguments state that the forum was being ruined

And that they didn't feel like coming on here anymore

No members no forum

People are not going to come on a forum where they think there going to be mussled treated unfairly or have to put up with arguments amoung the members.Admins,Mods ect

People might think that it only affects those in the thread but it doesn't it effects every member it gives the place a horrible atmoshpere

I'v noticed since the arguing started there have been less posts and even less new threads

You have to remeber there are those of us that are loyal to the forum and stick by it thick and thin

But even those people can only take so much when people start to get the impression they have no freedom they will leave

Remeber that the members really have nothing to lose they can go elsewhere

No members no forum

It's such a shame that the forum has been pushed to such a low reciently

When i first joined two months ago this place was bustling

Then the arguing started and everything died

You have to remeber that a lot of people like the established members there the people you are used to talking too disagreeing with laughing with

Without the members you are used to on the forum there wouldn't be anything to come here for

This is a comunity a whole

But right now it looks like gowder cheese

If it continues this way, it's practically guaranteed the banned members will be allowed back. lol

You simply cannot admit publicly that Maciamo is the prime offender, then ban everyone that speaks out too much about it, then tell the rest of us to be patient a little longer (over a year again) with no further explanation and expect your membership to hang around like little minions. No one is that stupid. ::okashii:

Well, anyone can of course and in the end this is what they'll be left with....Have fun ! :p

Ditto! Me too!

(I really have no beef with anyone here, but maybe this other forum would be more in tune with my interests. Not that this one isn't.)

I think there is a tinge of truth in that statement Frank.

Thistle or anyone else who has it: Please pm me the url of the new forum also as this is getting a little rediculous for my taste also.

It's gotten to the point where I'm afraid to post any contradictory arguments or my own opinions for fear of getting "infractions" and maybe banned. I have seen more people banned on this forum for speaking honestly than on any forum I have participated in. I mean, what kind of forum is this where a poster has to think, "Hmm, if I do post this opinion I may get banned or receive points against me like so and so when he/she really didn't say anything that I thought was worthy of getting banned."

What I thought was one of the finest forums on the net to post opinions about Japan and "Other serious discussions" and have great debates when I joined, has sunk to a "forum" of, if you do not drink from our kool-aid, and agree with "my" thinking of what is right/wrong about Japan and other things, your opinion is not wanted here. At least that's the way it seems to me of late.

It really is a shame.

It really is a shame.

I've pretty much stayed out of controversy here. But it occurred to me that this is the only forum I belong to (I belong to around 7-10 of them) with "infractions" or reputation points (thankfully, the negative ones are disabled). I have to question the mind-set of who came up with those gimmicks.

Generally speaking, nobody gets banned in the other forums unless they indulge in outrageous behavior. The moderators generally leave the forums alone except then discussions get too heated and then step in.

Having moderators/administrators issue "infractions" sounds like making them traffic cops.

It is time that the powers-that-be here need to get an attitude change before this forum goes down the tube.

The two other forums where I occasionally lurk I'd have to check the site FAQ to even know who the moderators and admins were. :-)

That's how it really should be. On some boards the moderators do participate but they don't go bananas over people disagreeing with them (for the most part, but moderators are only human).

Yea I belong to other forums and i'v never seen anything like the arguments on here

Lets be honest this is just a forum its not a job or a place where people have to stay or put up with the stuff thats is going on here

If people keep leaving like this and if the forum stays this quite and if people are afraid to post there opinion then the forum will die

Every time i come on here there are less and less posts no one talks anymore becouse there afraid to say anything

Everybody on hedre are fully grown adults there not going to put up with feeling like that so they leave or get banned or get infractions

Its sad this Forum has ended up this way

But the way people talk and the way people are feeling

Is like being under a regime

Wheather that is true or not is beside the point nobody is going to stick around with that kind of atmosphere

Sorry guys but for the love of Jref, I am closing this thread. (it is more a thread with the message let's go to the other forum)

I do get your point though, but even though you don't like the certain person, it shouldn't brake down the forum.

Paradoxically, you are both right. I have just unbanned CC1. His ban was no act sanctioned by management, so please disregard. As usual.
