Hello,

I was checking out Miyajima as a potential vacation spot due to a tip in another thread, and I saw the famous ryokan IWASO. However, Iwaso is like $200 a night ;-)

I'm looking for a decent time, nice rustic place to stay, but I can't afford that.

Does anyone know any not too shabby places to stay in Miyajima?

Also, is Miyajima an OK destination to visit in December?

Thanks for any tips!

- Harvey

I visited Miyajima in mid-November once and it was great, December is probably OK but unfortunately you'll have missed all the red leaves by then.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question about accomodations though...

In Miya-jima, November is the best.
It is a site of a hotel association of Miya-jima.
Please refer to here.
It is 5,775 yen that is the cheapest

Guesthouse Kikugawa (http://www.itcj.jp/hdb/634017.html) is also a little bit cheaper: 12,600 for 2 persons.
