abingdon boys school (a.b.s.) is a Japanese rock band that formed in 2005. Its members consist of Takanori Nishikawa (vocals), SUNAO (guitar), Hiroshi Shibasaki (柴崎 浩, Shibasaki Hiroshi?, electric guitar), and Toshiyuki Kishi (岸 利至, Kishi Toshiyuki?, keyboards and programming) . Support members include Ikuo (bass) and Kozy Hasegawa (長谷川 浩二, Hasegawa Kōji?, drums).

They released their first Single INNOCENT SORROW at December 6, 2006! debuting at #4 on the Oricon Charts

It doesn't matter if theyre old as long as they sound good it doesnt really matter. Sure if they were hot it would be a plus but i dont really care, it doesnt make me like them any less

I saw Abingdon Boys School on the TV yesterday...*I was shocked btw, that something Japanse was on TV. THey played at the live earth concert in Japan* I liked the song they played, so I downloaded 3 singles they made.

^ same here, I felt super sleepy watching those Aussie bands playing monotonous songs. I was only awake when it came to Japan, it was more hardcore in Tokyo concert. The band Rizer or something was good too! And Abingdon boys school rocked! Did they merely perform 2 songs? They wore Nephilim outfits so i thought they must have performed Nephilim too! abingdon boys school have announced the release of their first album. Currently untitled, the album is set to go on sale on October 10th and will contain the band's first three singles and two tracks previously recorded for other releases: stay away, from a NANA image album, and Dress from a BUCK-TICK tribute album. A limited edition of the CD will include a bonus DVD containing three music videos and be housed in a special box, while the first press of the regular edition will include a photo booklet.

as far as I know, the b-sides of the three singles wont be on it, just the title tracks plus dress and stay away, I certainly hope all 8 wouldn't be on it, that'd only give us 4 new songs, the majority of an album needs to be new songs so I'm guessing like I said it'll be the 5 former songs and 7 new songs

I just listened to nervous breakdown. Takanori's english is good! Has he learnt english before? Japanese singers often can't pronounce english well...like Shou. No offence, I like alice nine's music. But listening to stray cat, I could'nt make out the words till I saw the lyrics. lol. But there are of cuz Jrockers who are proficient in english. Like yoshiki...he's very good!

I was going to wait until the album is out before posting on here, but October is just too far away...

I admit, I heard of them before I started listening to them and I didn't want to look them up because their name made them sound...well, like a busted/McFly-esque band. Or at the very least, an An Cafe clone (cute-sy, etc.). But when I got bored I looked them up and...wow. It's like reading a horror story with a flower-y cover.

I know it's not their own song, but I adore Dress and can't stop listening to it. I've been reading Pet Shop of Horrors and it sounds like the kind of song (musically) that would be on a soundtrack to it.

I knew about Takanori from his TMR days and I always thought he was a very talented singer, I remember first hearing about ABS wondering what Takanori would be like in a rock band, but I gave them a chance and bought the Innocent Sorrow single and it freakin rocked! I was sold on Abingdon Boys School ever since. And they've only continued to get better and better since! Each new release that they've come out with has showed more and more talent.

album comes out in just a couple weeks! :D I've been doing some research and found out there will be 6 old songs (Stay Away, Dress, Innocent Sorrow, Howling, Nephilim, and Lost Reason) and 6 new songs (As One, Via Dolorosa, Down to You, Desire, Rebirth + Reverse, and Atena) it's a little dissapointing that their first album has only 6 new songs, but apparently they made up for it because they just announced a new single titled "Blade Chord" will be releasing less then two months later on December 5,2007.

Here's a little description of the new single

"Fourth single release from abingdon boys school composed by Sunao, features a loud and aggressive tone and complex lyrics from Takanori Nishikawa!"

and also it will serve as the opening theme for the SENGOKU BASARA 2 Eiyû Gaiden - HEROES game
