Hey everyone! Im coming to japan for 1-31 of march! probably mostly in tokyo, i want to see a whole bunch of weird stuff and going there to be completely confused.
Im sort of deciding to just 'wing' it and see how I go, but if anyone could recommend a cheap place to stay thats close to a train station or close to somewhere that lets me explore lots I'd be more than greatful!
A few japanese friends here have said that alot of rich japanese women would find me a very attractive gaijin so i would be open to that as well.
If anyone wants to catch up for a coffee... or drink or something every now and then to make sure im still alive (lol!) that would be great!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks for your time, look forward to hearing from you all! :bluush:

There's a (very) inexpensive, popular, no-frills, friendly backpackers' place near Ueno call the Hotel New Koyo. You'll get your own small tatami room and tv. (You'll have to Google for it since I can't add a 3rd party link to my posts.) I highly recommend it. And Ueno's a great place...
A little more upmarket, but still popular with backpackers, is the Kimi Ryokan in the middle of Ikebukuro. Though if you're travelling alone it may be a little pricey.

Mmm, that remains to be seen... :okashii:
Have fun

Check out Sakura House. I paid about 70,000 yen for one month for a shared 3-bedroom right next to Okachimachi station. Very noisy, but convenient. They have a lot of apartments all over the city, so you can choose what you want to be close to.

Hey there.
Needless to say there are loads and loads of places you can stay in Japan.. if you speak Japanese, try the Japanese websites (not international ones) because you will find better deals. For instance, go onto hilton.co.jp and you'll find an offer for 'buy two nights get the second half price'. Also, there is an offer for a prize to go to Hawaii or Guam, which isn't only limited to Japanese people!

You won't be too disappointed if you plan out what you are going to do :)

Hahaha... ahhh... no. They'd be after the rich Japanese men as a rule.
Do a little research, see the usual stuff (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Asakusa, Kamakura, Odaiba, Akihabara, Ame-yoko in Ueno, etc etc), and you might be able to find some other interesting things around the place.
