American Military Plans IRAN attack

I am not sure which part of forum to put this. Does anybody remember the article by Seymour Hersh about plans by the Pentagon to have large air-strikes against IRAN (yes I-R-A-N).

This was in 2006 the article ! Any comments on this, and the Middle East if this air attacks do occur.

THE IRAN PLANS
Would President Bush go to war to stop Tehran from getting the bomb?
by SEYMOUR M. HERSH
Issue of 2006-04-17

The Bush Administration, while publicly advocating diplomacy in order to stop Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon, has increased clandestine activities inside Iran and intensified planning for a possible major air attack. Current and former American military and intelligence officials said that Air Force planning groups are drawing up lists of targets, and teams of American combat troops have been ordered into Iran, under cover, to collect targeting data and to establish contact with anti-government ethnic-minority groups. The officials say that President Bush is determined to deny the Iranian regime the opportunity to begin a pilot program, planned for this spring, to enrich uranium.

Ring in the New-Year, with uplifting ideas. This is not that. Any good news, besides the world is going to war everywhere.

I think the world is more dangerous now, since the "Cuban Missile Crisis".
_) In GAZA; civil war between Hamas and Fattah
_) GAZA, still low-grade missiles launched against ISRAEL
_) MAINLAND CHINA wants TAIWAN
_) MAINLAND CHINA, props up NORTH KOREA
_) MAINLAND CHINA, unknown if wants to halt NORTH KOREA threats
_) IRAN, defies treaties, and is building Nuclear Bombs
_) IRAN leader says "Jewish Holocaust" did not happen
_) IRAQ is falling apart, and United States cannot put it back together
_) ISRAEL, at war with Hebozallah in Lebanon
_) ISRAEL, considers IRAN leader, a threat to Jewish race
_) NORTH KOREA, has developed nuclear weapons.
_) NORTH KOREA, society seems unstable
_) INDIA and PAKISTAN, still a cold-war between them
_) INDIA and PAKISTAN, fighting over KASHMIR
_) RUSSIA is going back to a dictatorship. Uses energy supply as a weapon
_) RUSSIA, shuts off energy to BELAROUS and other countries
_) Nuclear technology is spreading to dangerous countries and cultures

This is nothing new. The Pentagon has contingency plans of attack for pretty much every nation with differing scenarios.

I doubt that the US has the ability and power nowadays to star a new war scenario, with afghanistan and Iraq still unsettled US troops are already outstreched, but if it is just an air raid than it's maybe possible...

Don't forget the National Rifle Association members, over 2 million strong and all just waiting to shoot something, anything, anyone. AND....the VFW and American Legion members, millions of them sitting around the bar talking about the good old days of killing the enemy. Reinstate the draft and move the age up to 60 and the old codgers will take on the world.

I can see you now using a gun-pimped zimmer frame.:-)
I'd worry about the NRA waiting to shoot anyone, anything and at anytime. They could go a little stir crazy and shoot themselves. Now that gives me an idea....... Be warned US citizens, I plan to take over your country by using the NRA to my advantage. Bwuha ha ha

Especially France
France has nuclear force. But conventional is nowhere except the French Foreign Legion (very small, mostly stationed in Africa)

France launched an Aircraft Carrier recently. It broke down so much it had to brought into almost permanent wet-dock.

The French are very good at dealing with street-level-terrorism. The legacey of dealing with ALGERIAN terrorist, and their history with ALGERIA.

They must of had the Yugo company (remember those cars?) build it for them.:-)

It looks like Bush is going to escalate in Iraq.
So it might not be so. But, who knows, once they have the troops
in the region, and they are building something like 14 croc of shiite permanant military bases in Iraq, ....
Oh, gee, I wonder what that is for?
gots no one fooled gee willikers wanker militarists.

I have two rants here:
http://www.jref.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28225&page=21
http://www.jref.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28225&page=22
that cover weapons inspector Scott Ritter's take on it.

either way,
It's a total crock.
They want compliant client regimes every where that will treat the legal entities that are transnational corporations the same as though they were local and as if they were regular businesses, to sell their natural resources into the "free" "market", as well as manipulatable by the CIA, NED, the international wings of the Republican and Democrat parties, military ties for the fail-safe of doing a coup on noncompliant regimes, etc....

The sad thing is: Bush is very NOT an isolated incident.
No he is not.
He is not.
He is not an isolated incident.
You could start just about anywhere but how about with the Iran/Contra and agression against Nicaragua
and see all this stuff on Iraq was done there in the 80s with mostly the same
people in charge. It is known. You just have to dig a little.
Currently on this last bit, I am reading
"Empire's Workshop Latin America, The United States, and the Rise of the New Imperialism" under The American Empire Project

I now remember that Scott Ritter said while trying to warn us against going to war in Iraq that Hussein would become a martyr just as another guy in Iraq's long history of the same name was.

So maybe the US will strike Iran after all.

Like most of Bush/Cheney ideas, the surge it "too little too late". Just enough troops to fail again.

It came out in "London Times', Israel has plans to hit IRAN with bunker-busting tactical Nukes. I bet this was leaked by United States officials, to put this in the spotlight.
