I'm going through my translation class assignment, and I came across a symbol that I recognize, but I can't remember what it means! :(

It looks like る but with a loop where the third point is (if you count the starting point as the first). I can't give more of a description than that...but hopefully someone will know what I mean. :worried:

It's kind of frustrating because I know I've come across this before. :p

Could it be this one?

If so, it is an old hiragana, which is now obsolete.
You know there're missing kana in the "wa" line.
わ ・ ・ ・ を.
ゐ is one of them, another is ゑ.
History of hiragana at Wikipedia might be interesting.

AH!!!! That's it! Thank you very much!!! I wasn't sure how to look it up so I didn't even know where to start. :relief:

Hopefully I'll remember this the next time I see it.

Thank you again! :-)
