Ideas wanted for Trip to Japan

Dear People,

My name is Mathan, Iam 22 and doing Engineering studies in Germany. Actualy Iam an Indian, but live all my life in Germany.

Iam Planning in Summer to Visit Japan with my younger brother. Why Japan ?
I love Japan. The animation, cars and food..

Question to you people.

1. I can speak very well English.. Is that enough to survive in Japan. ?

2. How much money do you need except. JR and flight Ticket. for 2 weeks ?

Hope people in Japan like Indian..well Iam Asian...so hope no problem...

I also come from Nord-Rhein Westfalen ! For your questions I suggest you look around abit on websites.

This one inparticularly http://www.jnto.go.jp/. Has loads of information on trains and such stuff.

As for your question about English...well I guess you can but it would be very helpfull if you learned a few important phrases, as it will probably of real help too you.

Mathan,
English is taught here, but most people will have a hard time holding any conversation with you. If you stay in the larger cities, you will minimize any problems with language barrier. Many signs there are bilingual.

As Arch wrote, learn some basic Japanese. A guide book is enough.
