Hello. I was just wondering whether anyone knows where it is possible to obtain a copy of Kanji Moments Volume 2. I have finished Volume 1 and am very eager to continue the course but have had no luck in finding a copy of Volume 2.

Kanji Moments was originally published by BayWare Inc. in 1995. BayWare were, I believe, later taken over by Transparent Language. I contacted Transparent Language, who told me (a) that they stopped selling the product years ago, (b) have no copies left in stock, and (c) do not even have any archive or backup copies! They were not at all interested in helping out...

If anyone:
- knows where to get a copy (I have tried checking Amazon/eBay regularly with no success!)
- would be willing to sell a copy or a CD-R backup, or
- would be willing to e-mail a disc image or rar files,
I would be very grateful to hear from you.

(Since the software is no longer sold or supported by Transparent, it seems it is now effectively Abandonware.)

Thanks!:-)

I am sorry but I can't help you with your problem. I am looking for an easy way to efficiently learn Japanese. I was wondering if you could send me your copy of kanji moments part 1. I will be sure to send you a copy or link to Kanji moments Part 2 if I find it afterwards. ~ Thanks

No book is absolutely necessary for learning kanji. I haven't even heard of Kanji Moments before this thread and I'm doing just fine.

I rofl'd irl. You're right, I just can't understand why people believe that x method is better than the rest, thus x book is far above all. Differences are very small.

Come on folks, you can't bypass the limitations of your own capacity with neat tricks lol, you can just train yourself, and reach your true limits.

ugh, if you had ANY idea what i was talking about, i MEANT the book that accompanies the SOFTWARE that we're referring to... i just wanted to know if there were parts in the software that refers to the book.

I was asking if it was essential to using the software.

I'm not an idiot, i'm not saying any method is better than another.

Glad you got a RL rofl, but next time, know what you're laughing at FIRST, tyvm.

I rofl'd at Soloistic's "doing fine" remark, so there's absolutely no reason to act rabid.

Hello everybody
Is there any other software to learn Kanji than gKanji Momentsh 1 and 2? My Japanese teacher told me that she knows only of gKanji Momentsh, which is no longer available in the shops. I learn much better with software than with books. What software package can I buy? Please comment
Alternatively, would anybody sell me their old gKanji Momentsh 1 and 2?

I have no idea how this would work as a "kanji method" per se but just to put it out there, There's this web-based program this guy at MIT put out called Ice Mocha that's designed to teach vocabulary in terms of kanji compounds. I'm don't know so much about this approach for learning kanji because the focus isn't on kanji in general but words in general, but it's put out by kanji cafe. IN any case, here's the site: http://www.kanjicafe.com/icemocha.htm
