A love for Gackt and his music is a great reason to join Dears . If there's a will, there's a way. People can devote their life to learning the language. They might know someone good at Japanese who might be able to translate for them, or as a college student, have a roommate from Japan as their roomie. Plus, don't members of fanclubs sometimes get some bonuses? I can think of plenty of reasons to join, but these forums aren't a place to bicker. I'm just saying just because something looks impossible, it doesn't mean it is.

Thank you BaclExodus for those supportive words. I've tried several means of getting help with translation - programs, Japanese penfriend websites, even just asking the staff at my local oriental take away! But none of them can help... I know there is a way because the most I an make out on the website is the joining fees overseas (500YEN a month, 4400 a year, 5500 for special year membership) or something like that so it must be possible... jut ish they had the info in English like last time! (it said ''sorry, we are net acepting forein fans at this time but wil notify in the future) yes, the english was that poorly spelt. 10 out of 10 on effort though. Just wish the details were also in english!! ~ Jemma xxx

scattered fan base i'm afriad. don;t worry though, I have a feeling jpop/rock like anime will explode in the us in like another 2 years or so. i remeber when anime...was like 3 tapes in a video store, now its everywhere and there are even anime POSERS >.>. I don't think it's up to Gackt himself. His management will only let him perform there, if they can get financial gain out of it. Since the fanbase is so scattered, it's hard to achieve that.

It's best to contact organizers of large Anime-conventions, since those will get the highest concentration of fans together. Last week for instance, T.M. Revolution performed at Otakon.

Oh and by the way, ami, Gackt actually did admit once to uh having boyfriends. has any1 here heard of that? It was in some interview and as he said "The relationship was very emotional but since we were men it wasn't very sexual." whereus he said with women it was sexual. then at the end of the interview he told ppl to think whatever they wanted about his sexual status. ^_^;;;

Gackt's voice is being used in the new Fist of the North Star movie, I think. It's either a movie or a new series. I also have the Tsuki no Uta video. But I can't seem to find the actual way to unzip it. It downloaded kind of funky.

I think I've seen just about every pirated Gackt PV, CM, Live, and generally any moment that he's ever been filmed... ever... Um, no, I'm not obsessed at all! Tee hee. That bit on Utaban where he talks about the type of girl he likes is hillarious, but doesn't he admit being bi on Domoto Kyodai? Sigh, so many clips... My favorite song by him is Vanilla... It's just so &@%$#& catchy! Vanilla live was great too, but (as you might have guessed from my name) Illuminati, from his Malice Mizer days, is my favorite PV of all time! The Live was pretty good, but you just can't beat him and Mana.... *drools incessantly* OK, I'll stop now, as there is nothing at all decent in the video. Seriously, download it, watch it, love it.... Mmmmm....

I loved the illuminati PV...it was one of my favorites from Gackt's Malice Mizer days....that and Bel-Air...Gackt's eyes in that video were just enough to make me melt...they were so INTENSE! But you know Seki-Ray....never fails at making me cry...that PV is by far really sad!

I want to get Moon Child...but I'll settle with the new CD of Gackt's coming out on December 13th...and I'll wait until Moon Child goes down in price...so far I've found it for like 75.00 and I'm not sure if my DVD player could play it. I have "Bridal of the Rose" which was the Malice Mizer movie that was made with Klaha in it...I got to watch it once on my ex boyfriend's laptop and that was the last time I got to watch it...it was the only thing he ever got me...it cost him probably about 75

I'm from Germany, and on November 18th this year Gackt's album "Moon" is said to be released here.... I dun know, I can't really believe this, I mean... Gackt.... Germany..... I dun match at all! Yeah exactly...who doesn't love him. I simply adore him...he was what first got me into J-rock, because I heard Illuminati, and then fell in love with his voice. It's simply beautiful. He's very sexy, has a sexy voice, I've heard he's really smart, and well he's got a cute puppy! His piano playing is beautiful as well and his voice sends shivers down my spine. So yeah you should've asked who here doesn't like Gackt....

Oh yea! Now that is an amazing voice. I have alot of his music on MP3. I want to get a video for my mom as she really likes him as well. I never stop being amazed at the range and style his music takes, there is always something that will fit the mood.

Such a pretty smile, he should not hide it. I have seem a couple of interviews and he always seems so quite ( at least in the VERY FEW I have seen ) and shy.

great to see so many Gackt fans. Usually, in more homogenous societies (ie my town), people would be harping on superficial things like:

"he looks like a woman!"
"don't understand, don't wanna bother"
"he looks strange" (MM days)
"he sings strangely. where's the eddie veder roughness?!"
"dude, where's my car!"

I don't mind in the long run. more Gackt for us :)

It's great that these days his music seems so much more mature, too, with stuff like Tsuki no Uta and Last Song (which is VERY nice). This is my favorite of the various "Gackts" thus far. Can't wait until I get his new album.

And yes, Hyde is great, too. Roentgen is simply my favorite album of all time. His next album will be more heavier, though, so I'll wait and see.

I think MM Gackt is what draws most people into his music.

I think it's amazing how any band would go to such great lengths to gain their fans affections. That's not what draws me to J-rock or Gackt though...the whole fanservice thing...I like the fact that the music is really heartfelt and deep...no matter what the message is and no matter what the feeling is that it's trying to convey

Ah, I completely agree with you, Klaha! I think what makes music really moving + great is the emotions expressed. I think Gackt does a fantastic job at that. ;) I can't even listen to American music anymore because now to me they all sound like emotionless robots. :eek:

Gackt's voice introduced me into the world of Japanese music. And I'm sure glad he was my doorway into that world. He has a wonderful voice, singing and speaking. Talented, eccentric, good looking, very strange = great combination.

As for his albums, my favorite is Mars. My favorite Gackt song is the single version of Story.

I'm still indecisive on whether or not i like his solo or Malice Mizer career better. Actually, I think they're par to par.

I heard it, too, gackt and his plastic sugeries. from photos I can tell, that he surely had surgery on his nose... years ago, though. but I really can't imagin he goes lifting! I mean, 30 isn't old, and asian ppl alway look younger as they are.... I dunno about gackts oldering status! :D You have seen some of his recent live appearences? When the camera does close-ups on his face u can see, that he has oldened :shock: :giggle: funny, though...

As for his voice, I find its terribly nasal, and the overuse of vibrato is obviously his way of masking his apparent lack of pitch control.

I cosplayed as him on July 4th at AX, as a bit of a mockery to him, though. Fun as hell, I tell ya.

I do agree that he lays the vibrato on pretty thick. It's nice and pretty for certain stuff but not for the vast majority of his music. *shrug*
I like his voice but I'm not buying every release like I used to. I fell back into the androgynous, romantic male world - which Kamijo is the king of~

I can only honestly say that there have only been rumours. However, when you compare he's pictures from the beginning of his solo career with the present ones. It's obvious that something was done and looking at he's nose you can tell. But, I'm not here to cause any judgment on Gackt...

My friend then sent me these piccy's of him like all vampiric and things like from the PV "Mizerable". I couldn't believe that that was the so called "man". And by no means is he like uber-hot and uber-sexy, but he's not ugly either. I've seen uglier and whatnot. And what about TALENT? Can't people get attention because they're TALENTED? Or is this world more f**ked up and pathetic as I already think it is...?

Gackt's TRUE fans like him because he can sing, write good music, and also lyrics. Not because he's famous or hot: that's up to the preppies and all those false people to do.

Just because he's famous doesn't mean he can get attention from everyone. Same thing with him being hot. Some people, like Nightwalker and myself, don't pay into that. We aren't satisfied by so-called "hot" people singing and performing horrible music that can, at best, be barely DESCRIBED as music. We need people who are actually talented, like Gackt. Who cares if a person is famous and/or hot? It makes no differene at all!

And also the same applies with so-called "ugly" people. Hell, I don't know about you guys, but I'd prefer disgustingly ugly/hairy/fat artists singing and performing GOOD music (for once) than so-called "hot" ones.

Hotness is only a bonus after all...:p

P.S. I think that the entire thing with Kyo and vomiting may actually just be to please/entertain his fans or maybe because he likes to do it. After all, Dir en grey's music and lyrics should be enough to draw people's attention. That or like I already said, the world is more corrupted than I originally thought.

fanboys are much simpler to please, they don't have those high fame/success standards. A hot chick doesn't have to be famous or sing well to have her own fanboys if she has a huge rack or looks generally sexy and is willing to flaunt it.

yo! i live in toronto as well, there's a store in downtown chinatown called Kikiwai, and they have J-CDs, im not sure if they have the newest ones, but i've seen some nice CDs there.
