I have included the URL for my photo pages in my signature, but I waited until I had finished the Philippines 1974-75 galleries until I posted it here. The Philippines and Japan galleries are photographs I took while I was in the US Navy.

Thank you for the pics! Quite a few of them bring back memories!

I grew up near Sankeien, in Makado-cho to be exact, if you check your map. Honmoku Arai and Honmoku Wada used to be the US military housing area when I was small. I used to go there to pick flowers and play with the American kids.

I've also been in the Philippines and have visited Clark Air Base once, on invitation from a friend. Were you in that area? I lived in Manila at that time (oh, more than 20 years ago... :relief: )

I haven't checked all the photos but plan to enjoy them later! Thank you again!

Thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying the photos!

I found Makado-Cho on my maps. I was never in that section, but did go to Honmoku Wada from time to time.

I was stationed someplace much smaller than either US Naval Base, Subic Bay or Clark AFB. It (US Naval Communications Station Philippines, San Miguel) was about an hour north of Subic Bay. There are plenty of photos and maps in both Philippines galleries. I was in Clark AFB a few times, but there was so much more to do in Manila. Clark AFB is now the Clark Special Economic Zone. The actual air strip is the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (or Clark International Airport). Here are some relevant URLs:

The following is the URL for the official City of Angles web site. The URL did not work, but maybe that is just a temporary problem.

I have added some photos taken in and around our house, and of events and scenic places in the area near our home.
