Ok, so i'm going to japan with one of my buddies ( the strip club guy, if you remember my strip club thread). Anyways, heres what our schedule looks like

June 11 Arrive in Tokyo
Stay in Tokyo till June 14
June 14 take a train to Kyoto, see Kyoto for a day
June 15 take a train to Kanazawa, see Kanazawa for a day
June 16 take a train back to Tokyo stay in Tokyo till June 18

Anyone have any suggestions on things to see, or do? We already have a pretty good idea about everything we want to do. However, I donft want to pass on an opportunity to use this source of wisdom

June 14 take a train to Kyoto, see Kyoto for a day

Only one day? Hardly enough time to even get a feel for the history of the city. But if all you have is one day, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Just make sure you make it a full day! Besides, you'll need at least an extra day to take in the strip clubs there!

Seems to me that most of the day will be eaten up by the travel to Kyoto alone, even by bullet train.

Yep. Forgot to add that. Good point. Round trip will be more than 6 hrs!

Too bad Ghettocities had been banned. :-) I just got into Kumomoto yesterday and I have to confess, the women here are absolutely gorgeous. Didn't someone say ages ago that Kyushu has the best-looking women in Japan? I am starting to believe it!

Muahaha hence my fiance is from Fukuoka. :)

Josh got banned? News to me.

Anyway 1 week is hardly enough time to really get to see japan. We stayed 2 weeks in Tokyo and still wasn't enough time.

Heh! I had a feeling the source might've been you!

On Josh, I read somewhere he was.

If one week is all they have, may as well see as much as they can.

I'm definitely not saying a week is enough! But seeing as we are poor college students, we can barely scrap together enough to get there! And by the way, each city we travel to, such as Kyoto, we will be staying the night there. So we will wake up early, travel to Kyoto, spend the day there, then spend the night.

And, most importantly, they'll miss the happy hour at the Roppongi strip clubs.

If I were you, I'd do the travel by night bus. That way you get your sleeping and your traveling done at the same time, and save money on the hotel.

No, you don't sleep as well and yes, you have to wash up in a wash basin. But you're young, adventurous, and on a budget. My way costs less and leaves you more of your waking hours to actually see and do things.

I get horribly car sick, I dont think I would sleep at all if i traveled by night bus.

I agree with Armand. You are not going to have much time to see the cities outside Tokyo with that schedule. Cut down. Skip Kanazawa.

I know, love the dude, great posts and all. I like the new way he approaches things with a new perspective. We might as well see this guy in a few years making it big in the hip-hop or skateboarding industry. Great website, a little explicit and somewhat controversial, but probably handy.

I'll take into consideration the fact that southern Japan has beautiful girls.

Note: probably way off-topic, but just had to say this.

He's a despicable misogynist sleazebag who does nothing but breath oxygen I might need someday.

Tell us how you really feel. Mike :p

Dramamine or whatever works good as long as you take enough of it. 20mg wasn't enough for me.....But traveling by night bus would definately give you the time you need to see the cities.

Urrgh, I would not recommend it. Its an ugly metal tower whose owners are heavily in debt and the surrounds and attractions haven't been updated since before I was born. Been once and it was more than enough.

Aw, c'mon. It wasn't that bad. We went up it 3 years ago and the views were magnificient! I wouldn't go again, but once is worth it.

Wait until the NEW tower is completed, that'll really be something!

I say that if these guys want to go, don't dicourage them and let them judge by themselves, remember, oneself is the best posssible judge...
