I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and have the chance to go to a high school for some time. I don't know if there is a particular behaviour or set of expectations I am to meet, as in our class we have not covered those topics yet.
Are they 5 day weeks or 6 days? I do not know for sure and it would be nice to know ahead of time so I know what to expect when I get there. I am very nervous about going again, which is weird because I went last year, too.
I have other questions but if this is not allowed or is in the wrong section, please let me know. Thank you.

The length of the school week depends on the school.
If you've been before then you shoulc have an idea of what the attitude and study habits of the students are during class.
If there is something specific you'd like to know please feel free to ask.:-)

Ahhh... sorry this is so long past!!!! TTT__TTT
Yeah, I get that for each school is different because the teachers will have different styles to teach--just like here.
Mm... but what I mean is if there are different things to be expected, because here at least, in HS you're expected to be much more mature and what not. I don't really know what I'm saying anymore DX *Facepalm*
Hmm... something specific... well... grr... I just had one! T_T *Hits self* I'm sorry, but if I think of anything, I'll ask!!
I leave next Thursday o.o ...... *Panics*

Private schools have classes or activities Monday through Friday, plus 2 Saturdays a month. Club activities can run 7 days a week sometimes.
Public schools are on a 5-day/week schedule, but that is going to revert back to what I wrote above.
As for differences between HS kids and their attitudes here and where you are now, likely the answer is yes. Maturity levels seem to be lower here, by about 5 years in my estimation, compared to the USA.
Other things to expect, plenty! I hope your exchange program covers some of them. If not, come with an open mind and don't impose your country's standards on what you see and experience. You'll do fine then.

Wow, that was so informative! Thank you!!
So that's similar to what it was like last year... I went to a Junior High school and there were five day weeks, but what was interesting to me was that they only had something like a half day... after lunch you were dismissed to go home or whatever you had afterwards. That surprised me because we had been taught that school ran until something like 4:30 or whatever and then their clubs until 6:30 or something and then study school or something. So that was very different. Being there is really incomparable.
Maturity levels lower in Japan? Or where do you mean by here? I mean Canada, because that's where I live right now.... but I don't know for sure of where you mean... ^^;;;
It's not exactly a program this year, it's more like a visit to to the families I stayed with last year. They welcomed me back with open arms before I was even on the plane home, so I got a job and promised I would go back. So... six days from now, I am going back. ^^;;;
I'm sorry I know this is random,but how did u get to go to Japan?
