I have a speaking test tomorrow which is a conversation between me and another person. I need it translated from english to conversational Japanese (hiragana/katakana or romaji, not kanji. I am only a first year university student) so I can read it out. I have been trying but it seems like it's going to take me hours -_-. If somebody sees this who is fairly fluent in Japanese and can translate this easily, your help would be greatly appreciated. If it would be hard for you to do don't worry, I am in the same position so don't bother.

"1: Hey, HEY Darren!!! Hey Darren wait up.
2: mm? AH! Its john, hey!
1: hey I just got back Hawaii; I went there during the holidays.
2: hmmm is that so (hmm sou desu ka~) how was it?
1: it was good I stayed there for 2 weeks living at a hotel in honolulu, close to Waikiki beach. It was fun and relaxing.
2: I see well I went to hong kong stayed at hotel on kaloon island. Went there with some friends. Just went on a shopping spree.
(gives you a gift)
here I bought this for you. *hands over headphones*
1: thanks. sorry but I donft have anything to give back to you so ill buy you a few beers instead, how does that sound?
2: I donft like beer.
1: What do you like?
2: Hawaiian gifts.
1: I told you, I donft have anyc
2: OK, well then on Saturday we will go somewhere and Ifll choose something at a shop and you have to buy it even if itfs expensive.
1: I donft think the kind of gift youfre thinking about exists.
2: Did you say something?
1: No never mind.
2: Then ill see you this Saturday.
1: This Saturday it is then.
2: See you.
1: Bye."

No offense, but a test is something that measures your own ability.

If one of us were to translate this for you, the test becomes completely meaningless. Not only that, but your taking of the class will become a complete waste of time and money. Please understand.

I am closing this thread.

EDIT: I am reopening this thread. Terumoto should explain his motivations more clearly soon.

Here is why the thread was reopened.

Thank you for your reply!
Is that the assignment? To get someone to translate a conversation for you? If so, I will gladly reopen your thread, but when I was a student of Japanese, we were only tested on what we had learned in class.
Why not just try to make a conversation using grammar and vocabulary you learned in class?

It is not specified in the assignment how to go about producing the script... Like you, I thought the only possible thing to do would be use what we have covered in class and that doing that well would result in a good mark.
You are meant to book a time slot for your assessment over three days, though, and ours was booked for the last day. Some of the people who did the test on the first day were good friends with some Japanese exchange students studying at our university that helped them translate their script. The teachers must have been impressed and raised their standards, because now the people that stick to the course material are disadvantaged. A lot of people since then have done the same, and had help from people that are proficient in Japanese.
I asked one person I knew that studied Japanese at university, but she was busy. So I figured I might as well ask for some help on jref. It isn't really a big deal, it's not like I'm going to fail if I don't speak at a higher level than we have learned, that would be ridiculous. All it is is the difference between a good result and an excellent result, you know what I mean?
Hmm...I understand what you mean.
I will reopen the thread under that condition that you post this PM in that thread to explain yourself better.
Good luck!

Sounds like something that needs to be taken up on appeal with the superiors of the teacher.

Either way, I'd rather have a poorer grade on something that I felt really assessed my own ability than a better grade through such means as the OP proposes here.

I'm working on it now anyway, I'll probably post it up when I'm finished and ask you guys to point out any mistakes.

Just as Buntaro says in his sig: There's no such thing as a free lunch. (Tada yori takai mono wa nai.) :p

OK, well I sent my partner my translation and he edited it a bit. This is how it turned out -_-. It would be a big help if someone could point out any errors or problems.
