I've been studying Japanese for a few weeks now, courtesy of Pimsleur's uber-expensive Japanese I audio courses. I'm up to lesson 12, and I've run into a problem. Some of the words and sentence structures have become too complex for me to identify. Anyone who has used Pimsleur before knows they don't give you any written instructions of any kind, only audio. Which is okay, unless you're a dumb *** such as myself.
Anyway, I'm at the point where the speakers have begun to use the term "kudasai" when asking someone to "Listen, Please" and "Listen and Repeat." But I can't seem to pick up all the words used in this phrase, and the speakers are going too fast for me to get any of the pronunciation down right. Have any of you guys used this program before, or do you know just from experience how the phrases should be spoken? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

聞てください- please listen (in romanji: kite kudasai)

Usually, to make a request politely, use the -て form of a verb plus ください.

I believe it's kiite kudasai.

Thank you both Quamp and MeAndroo, seeing the words written out in romanji helped my pronunciation greatly. Do either of you guys know the answer to the second part of my question, on how to say the phrase "Listen and Repeat, please."

Thanks again in advance.

I'm not Mike or quamp, or 100% sure even but probably this :

聴いて(きいて)繰り返して (くりかえして)ください。

Kiite (listen), kurikaeshite (repeat) kudasai.

I know the boat you are in. I use Rosetta Stone. The first lessons and my first 2 weeks of study were great, I learned so much. After that the sentences became longer and the pictures were less obvious...so I didn't really know what was being said. I had to look everything up.
