View Full Version : Headlines
I was looking at Asahi's article on the recent soccer game, and I'm a bit confused by something. My problem regards the 4強. I can only interpret this as meaning "more than 4," but I don't know what that could be in reference to. At least that's the only meaning I know for 数字+強, but now I'm wondering if it might mean that Japan won by a score of 4 to something.
Incidentally, Sankei also uses that phrasing. I assume the meaning is the same, whatever that meaning happens to be.

:relief:
