I'm speaking with a new collaborator in Japan, and would like to know the proper response to the phrase:

Kochirakoso yorosiku onegaisimasu!!

Something to the effect of "you're very welcome and I'm happy to be of further assistance" in a very natural respectful tone to a peer.

Thanks! This is my first visit here so I apologize if this is not the proper place/method for asking a question such as this.

Best regards,

I wasn't aware there was one. It is in itself the response to yoroshiku onegai shimasu, so it would be a bit redundant to go over that road again. But if there is one, I want to know it too.

Maybe just the proper reaction/response to this in general then? Is there a self-deprecating way to accept their compliment? I'm very uncomfortable with my grasp of Japanese ettiquette, and want to put a little extra effort in, since they've gone as far as sending all their correspondence in English so far.

I imagne the situation...

yorosiku onegaisimasu or a Japanese phrase was what you wrote in the first mail.
Then, the Japanese guys wrote, "Kochirakoso yorosiku onegaisimasu!!".
I think he/she was surprised and glad to see you write the Japanese phrase, so a bit too colloquial sentence was in his/her business mail.
Anyways, you don't have to react the phrase itself, but just do your business.

He/she must be surprised your mail again, if you add a chinese character, ”q, after your signature.
Example:
pipokun@xyz.co.jp
piopokun ”q

The writing manner is an extremely polite one meaning I am humbly writing this.
