I wonder how many times I've seen this article linked to before on this board...
This thing is at least seven years old. A classic, though.

Japanese Teacher: Good morning, Harry.
Harry: Good Morning.
Japanese Classmates: (gasps of horror and shock)
haha, I've actually never read that before, pretty funny. Obviously this guy's struggling. I don't think Japanese is easy, but I don't think its as bad as he makes it out to be.

If you read the ending author's note, you'll see that he means it all as a joke, and he claims to be a "Japanese major".
Most of it was pretty funny. Especially the classmates part.

I thought this was pretty funny.
English Sentence:
Jane went to the school.
Same Sentence In Japanese:
School Jane To Went Monkey Apple Carbeurator.

I just wish they would fix some of the mistakes. This sentence is badly in need of another comma (0 added by me to bypass censors):
The Japanese also like c0ck fighting monsters that live in your pants, taking baths with the elderly, and killing themselves.
Even though read before, it never cease to be funny imo. The guy/girl got humor.

Well yes of course it's a joke, and i'm kind of glad the author wrote it, because it expresses (even if exaggeratedly) that learning another language is a big thing. Especially for a native speaker of a language like English learning a language like Japanese, or vise versa, learning a language that is so different from your native language is troublesome for anyone, not appreciating that will only make it harder.

racist... but a good time. i enjoyed it. he does make a few valid points though, like how about you'll find random things in english on shirts and other products and often are incorrect.
i liked this one:
Sloppiness is not tolerated in Japanese society, and someone with a small wrinkle in their shirt, which they thought they could hide by wearing a hooded sweatshirt over it (possibly emblazoned with a catchy english phrase like "Spread Beaver, Violence Jack-Off!"), will be promptly beaten to death with tiny cellular phones.
